Possible lifesaver
At age four, I was diagnosed with multiple allergies, including several severe ones, plus a few new ones have joined the crowd over the years.Bee-stings is one of the more severe allergies I have, along with large shrimp (eating them, as they don't sting).I found the shrimp one out the hard way.Anyway, forty years ago (argh, that makes me feel old), my pediatrician told my parents that I should always have Benadryl on hand as Step One to counter an allergic reaction.I was stung by a bee once, took a Benadryl, and had a very minor reaction.When the shrimp allergy became apparent, I managed to swallow a Benadryl, before my throat finished closing up, and the reaction subsided quickly enough to preclude the need for further medical attention.The incident also precluded the need for me to ever eat large shrimp again.


Long story made short:for allergies, Benadryl can be extremely useful.

Still the best!
After trying all the others out there, Benadryl still works the best and the fastest.The sleepiness is definitely a problem with this but after awhile, you kinda get immune to it - especially if you use a decongestant with it.I've tried almost all of the prescription meds but none of them had the lasting effects of Benadryl.Sure does the job and if you can't sleep, well, there's another added benefit!

Benadryl is still the standard antihistamine.
Benadryl is almost aspirin-like in its utility.It handles allergy attacks as well as sinus congestion, it alleviates the most annoying symptoms of a head cold, and the antihistamine helps control hives.In all, I've tried others and found that Benadryl still offers the most effective relief at the best price.

Amazing!
While doing some pre-holiday shopping, a friend and I stumbled upon Breathe Right promoting Vapor Shot at the Mall of America. They were offering a sample shot and some strips. I haven't tried the strips yet, but the shots are AMAZING! We were both a little stuffed up, as we tend to be during the winter in Minnesota. Nota good product
I don't recommend these at all.Many years ago when this product first was introduced, it did a pretty good job.However, now it just doesn't touch anything symptomatic of allergy problems.All they have in this is 1,000mg of Tylenol, which is hard on your liver, 60mg of pseudoephedrine, and the allergy medication which is not Benadryl.This stuff will mildly clear your head of stuffiness, but it does nothing to block allergy symptoms or get rid of the pain.My chest was so tight that I could hardly breathe.You would think all that Tylenol would do SOMETHING but that is not the case.I had to come back home and take Advil to shrink the swelling in my head and then take Claritin to get rid of the allergy symptoms.Save your money on this one - grab the Advil Allergy version of this - your swelling will cease and the allergy portion will be much more relieved.I don't recommend this at all. ... Knocks me for a loop
Benadryl is great for allergies but these pills can knock you for a few loops. Either it will knock you out to the point where you can hardly wake up the next day just from one pill or you can sleep for 12 hours straight on 2 pills.

The next thing you know, you are taking these pills and you wake up absolutely wired in the middle of the night. So, the results are somewhat unpredictable. I mean, if you want to stay up all night posting reviews, it is not a bad option to be up all night. lol

Do they work? Yes, they seem to work for allergic reactions and allergies. My husband bought me the blue box instead of the pink box and I'm going to try the "just allergy" pills the next time. Although, I did notice that these pills do not dry out my sinuses as I expected since I don't have any sinus pressure, etc.

Warning: Don't take these during the day if you are at all sensitive to this type of medication. I mean, it can knock you out like a sleeping pill.
