Great idea, but they don't stick!
These are great for SMALL areas that you'd like not to appear to have a bandage applied, but they really don't stick.They hang on for about 30 minutes and then they're gone.I'm not sure why these bandages are not made with the same glue that they used to but something needs to be changed.If you can't go very long without reapplying it, what's the point?You're almost better off looking conspicuous and applying gauze and tape.At least you'll know that it will be there an hour from the time of application.It's a great idea but they really haven't figured out how to make it stick. ... Mom's Remedy from Childhood
I had forgotten about this remedy and had resorted to using alcohol as a first step to prevent infections. It is always fun to find that you have cut yourself quite by accident when using a scissors (don't ask me how this happens) to open boxes of books. I may have to invest in a box knife.

Anyway, this product really does help and prevents skin infections from even occurring. It is also helpful in the summer for the occasional mosquito bite or if you play sports and injure your skin.

This is the remedy I remember from childhood. If you make this your first step instead of alcohol, you will notice that it really does work better and it also relieves pain, unlike alcohol that can sting, sting, sting.

Seems to have a Eucalyptus/Pine scent and that might also be why this is rather comforting. Reminds me of the scent of Vicks.

Argh! It Stings, It Stings! Make It Stop, Mommy!
Boy, does this little bottle of scrape-salve take me back! Always a staple of my parents' medicine cabinet, this was the first thing to get pulled outta its nook and applied to whatever minor cut, abrasion, or scrape that I suffered due to my clumsiness. It sure did sting like hell, that's for sure. And it was kinda creepy to see the stuff go to work, as the more-infected areas of the cut became all white and a bit foamy-looking, kinda like a head on a beer! But it must've worked pretty well, though-I never had a cut get infected after Bactine™ was applied to it.

But aside from the stinging part, I never particularly cared for the smell of Bactine®. Being a guy who wasn't (and still isn't) into eucalyptus-based salves and cold treatments-- to this day I won't even go near Vicks® products or Halls® lozenges if I catch a cold-- Bactine®'s scent was almost unbearable to me. And that odor would stick around for a while, too! Great, now I'm gonna spend a few hours smelling like a koala's next meal.

My rec: stick with Neosporin® (no odor, almost no sting) or hydrogen peroxide (minimum odor, some sting). If you're feeling really adventurous, however, go with rubbing alcohol.

Introduced in 1950, the year after I was born, BACTINE is one of those venerable consumer products that, unlike chocolate Flavor Straws and X-Ray Spectacles, has withstood the test of time because it works so well. Band-aid comes through
Over the summer my nine-year old son burned his hand while at daycamp. This happened during a cooking project with a hotplate.

The bandage is a beige color with the adhesive pad white. There is 1/4" of the bandage material beyond the pad. The pad is not spongy or stretchy but does feel soft to the skin. The pad is absorbent and did not stick to the blisters on his hand.

The size of these Band-aid Large Adhesive Pads makes it perfect to cover and stay in place. The extra protection of the bandage seals out the germs on all four sides of the pad, lets the skin breathe and works along with the gauze to protect the wound.

With one of the blisters being on his thumb I decided to cut along the middle of the Band-aid Large Adhesive Pads and cover the wound after applying the prescrption paste. The other half was placed back in the box and sterile enough for our use the next day.

There are two white pieces of plastic on the back that come off with ease and are discarded with the wrapper. I always wash my hands after touching the wrapping on bandages due to the latex and my skin condition.

The ultimate bandage!
I LOVE these bandages!I love their packaging (I've never had a single problem getting one out of its package and onto the injury, and I have three sons, so I've used PLENTY of them).They really couldn't be easier to use- they don't get stuck to your other fingers while you're applying them, and the paper frames keep them from getting stuck to themselves.

And they're the ultimate when they're on, too.They don't leave sticky stuff around the edges.They don't leave a rash when you take them off (regular bandages damage my son's skin with their adhesive; he's got atopic dermatitis).They don't even hurt when you take them off, and they'll stay on for days and days without looking grungy, dirty and curly-edged.And you can hardly tell you've got one on - they're so incredibly thin and flexible.

I wish I could give these ten stars, to counter that other review.Honestly, I've never known anyone to have a problem getting these on.They're well worth the price, even if it was twice what it is, because you only need one per cut (I always had to put on about a dozen band-aids, because they'd pull off, wash off, fall off).

This product sucks
I bought a box of 30 of these. I have 16 left. 0 actually made it onto my cut finger. Right now, I found a Band Aid brand bandage and used it.I'd say this product, so far, has a failure rate of 100 percent.

This product is an extremely thin membrane of plastic that comes with some sort of paper frame that is impossible to remove without destroying the bandage. A bandage that gets wadded up in the unpacking is useless.My husband couldn't get one to work, either, and all 10 of his fingers were in working order.

I'm sorry I have to give this thing even one star.Can you give negative stars?
