Never go back: the bloody expensive times
These were one of the first brands of tampons I ever tried, long before I found out how many different menstrual options I had (now using a Mooncup). As tampons themselves I always found Tampax to be lacking in comparison to other brands in the way in which they are shaped, tampons in general are hard to insert due to friction, but Tampax I always found to glide far less smoothly. They were removed as easy as other tampons, but of course with them absorbing moister they were still painful to remove. With a heavy flow I had to change every few hours even with the 'super', the regular were fine for light days, but I rarely used the lights because it never seemed worth it.

I wouldn't go back to tampons if you paid me, particularly commercial tampons and especially Tampax, tampons put women at far greater risk of infection by preventing natural vaginal cleaning and giving bacteria a place to multiply. Commercial tampons like this continue to use rayon despite the increase in TSS risk, and continue to use bleaching despite it's risk to health - something done purely because of menstrual taboos (whitest of white = sanitary enough to deal with menses). Tampax have the added issue of increasing period pains, this is because these are lengthways-expanding tampons, which are made by cutting rectangles from a length of cotton/viscose fleece, this means that they can expand into the cervix. Another issue being that these are advertised as 'flushable' when no tampon is flushable, an environmental risk at the best of times tampons do not break up in water so remain solid and absorbable so can block up pipes and can also make their way out the sewage systems into oceans.

Tampax themselves have a horrific track record, for years denying the risk of dioxin in their products during the 90's, the parent company owned Rely tampons that were responsible for the TSS scare in the 80's and have supported horrific animal testing and the use of harmful chemicals in many of their personal care products.

My recommendation is to go out and look at other options, there are 15+ options available, all of which are safer than commercial tampons, many also far cheaper and environmentally friendly, it really does pay to know all of your options and the background of the company you are supporting.
I'd much rather be paying $33 for 10 years for a menstrual cup than $330 for 10 years for commercial tampons (if only using 5 tampons per day on a 5 day cycle), even before going into the benefits in regards to health, environment, convenience, comfort, track record and issues relating to the way in which such companies keep 'the curse' taboo going for their profit.

Tampax is great
It looks to me like the reviewer from England didn't actually purchase the tampons, it's just someone who has a grudge against tampons in general and Tampax in particular.I have used Tampax for years and have never had any pain or health problems from their usage, and I will continue to use them till I no longer have a need for them.Not only that, but the price for a box of 100 is excellent.

Okay, Except When They Get all Bunched Up!
These Panty Liners are an okay product for when you are at the tail end of your period when it's just about finished but the negetive thing is that a lot of times these just don't say in place and get all bunched up especially on the sides. Perhaps if the panty liners had adhesive tabs on the side then that would solve the problem of the pad getting all bunched up!

Slow Shipping
My overall experience with using this product was great, but the only problem I had was with the shipping. Order was placed on January 26, but I'm just now getting it today on March 10. I don't know if it still had something to do with the christmas season or they had none in stock, I just wish I don't have that kind of problem again. ... Read more

I'll never use anything else ever again
If they ever stop making this product I am in serious trouble.I can never go back to using pads and tampons now that I have tried these.Once i got the hang of them, which did not take long, I felt cleaner, safer, and healthier wearing them than any other mentrul product I've tried.Another reviewer mentioned them being bad for heavy flow days, but I find that that's when they really shine.You avoid the bulk and messiness of pads, they can be worn a lot longer than tampons and come with no strings attached.I'm hooked!

Something even better than instead is out there!
I can remember using Instead when it first came out but have trouble finding it in stores now. The only perk it has over what I use now instead of tampons is that it is intercourse-friendly.

I use a DivaCup--also sold as Moon Cups or Keepers. It--unlike Instead--is REUSEABLE! It is a cup you insert that's made from silicon (so it is non-irritating), and it lasts about TEN YEARS. I got it a year ago because it is so environmentally friendly (disposables create so much waste) and love it because I forget it's even there. Also, I don't have to worry about being 'stocked up' for my period. Keepers are made from natural rubber if you want to go even more eco-friendly, but I was afraid of an allergic reaction so I went with silicon. The ONLY drawback is that you can't wear it during sex.

Like the Instead Softcup, it doesn't absorb my body's natural lubricators, so my pH is nice and healthy, and the DivaCup holds a full ounce of blood--much more than a tampon.

If you like Instead, I think you would prefer a Diva Cup. And because it is better for the environment and cheaper ($30 or so for a ten-year supply of tampons anyone?) I just wanted to spread the word!!! No one asked me to do this and I'm not getting paid a penny! I just love the product.

not for heavy flow days
It took a few times to get used to the insertion/removal, and I did feel a bit of irritation from the removal process since you have to feel around to get the edge of the cup to remove it.It was not too bad otherwise until I started to flow heavier. When the cup was full and I sat down, blood literally poured out of the cup.I was quite fortunate that I didn't get blood all over my clothes.As one might imagine, removing the cup was very messy and there was really no way to avoid getting blood all over my hand.

I would recommend using a tampon for heavier flow, but these are fine if your flow is lighter.

Amazing!
I have been using them for nearly 3 yrs now. It did take a little getting used to but after I figured out how to insert it right I have not had any trouble and I LOVE them.

For those wanting a tip or 2...
I insert mine when it is wet. I wash it with warm water and leave it damp. I usualy do this in the shower. Squat and insert folded sideways, then twist the edge slightly so it folds over the cervix. Then check to be sure it has covered the cervix (my biggest errors occoured when I didn't check). Then push it as far back as you can - this will prevent leaking and keep it from feeling like it will fall out. Kinda a long process compared to tampons but you don't have to think about it after that.
I don't bother to replace it except when I get my morning shower. Go to the bathroom as usual through the day and bear down. The seal will break enough for the blood to be expelled and you don't have to do anything else special.

One of the best parts about this device is that you can have sex w/ it in... but I only recomend it durring lighter days b/c more adventurous sex may cause it to dislodge and leak. Sex can really help ease cramps. ;)

I've found something to use INSTEAD!
I stumbled across this product online and saw many reviews before I had a chance to try it.I was pleasantly surprised.It worked great for me!

The only time the softcup leaked was when I was going to the bathroom and ready to change it anyway.Otherwise, I forgot I was wearing it.I even did some strenuous workouts, including lots of squats and ab work with no leaks!

Unlike tampons, this product works great for a heavy or light flow, so I don't have to worry if I'm using enough or too much protection.The softcup also works well for a thicker flow that tampons normally don't absorb well.

As for dealing with the mess, it is something that might take getting used to.I would NOT want to change the softcup in a public restroom.At home, I have flushable wet wipes available by the toilet, and feel they are a necessity to clean up any overflow that might be on your hand after the softcup is removed.

Run, don't walk, to get this stuff
I'm not much for homeopathic medicines, but decided to try soy on my doctor's recommendation. I found Complete Balance on sale at my local Long's Drugs. Not knowing one soy from another, I decided to give it a try. I was thrilled to see a good amount of relief from my symptoms within a week or so. One of the best benefits is that instead of waking up half a dozen times a night, I am now waking up once or not at all. My migraines have subsided [for the most part], and I am just generally happier. I went back to Long's to get my second month's supply, but found they were no longer carrying it. I purchased a different product, but found that my symptoms returned in no time. I hunted Complete Balance down at Amazon, and have just received the 4 month's supply that I ordered. I vow to never run out of Complete Balance again!

Better than laser surgery!
I had several symptoms from menopause, none that bothered me excessively untill I began having frequent bleeding. When I became slightly anemic I went to the OB/GYN who did some tests, including a hysteroscopy where they put a camera in your utereus. She said I was a very healthy 50 year old woman who was experiencing 3 periods a month due to a hormone imbalance. I was given 3 choices, a hysterectomy, an endometrial oblation (laser surgery that caterizes the uterus so it does not bleed anymore at all) or hormones. Well, I was healthy so why the hysterectomy and I am not into ingesting urine in any form (hormones) so I scheduled the laser surgery. The BEST for lighter days!
My local Duane Reade stopped stocking these... to my chagrin!They're the BEST BEST BEST for those days where it's too light to wear a regular tampon, but you really don't want to deal with light pads.

Mom with teen
Great item for young girls AND Adult women for those not so heavy days. The first time the curse hit on swimming day I gave my 13-year-old modest daughter the instructions and sent her to the bathroom. Told her if she needed help to let me know...she figured it out and now uses them all the time.
I find them useful for the lighter days insteand of a mini-pad.
Great item...Tampax just needs to make a larger count box. 30 count for 2 women doesn't last long.

I think they work great.
After having two kids, I find that these are the tampons that work and stay put the best. They've been very reliable and I've never had a problem with them.

NOT flushable
These offer no more than any other tampon, it is still the same commercial rubbish with god knows what sort of harmful chemicals, as if it is not bad enough to sell such harmful products they are now saying that applicators are flushable?!

not just for women
Last summer, my son, kyle (age 11) got in a bike accident. (ok, I hit him with my van in the driveway, he shouldn't of crossed behind, it's real hard to see when driving in reverse.) gentle and long lasting
There is the most mild of fragrance in this product. I am very sensitive to smells and perfumes and don't care for some scents, no matter how weak or how strong - but there is only enough of a gentle smell to let you know you're not buying snake oil.:-)

The liquid is almost clear with a purple tint and the viscosity is somewhere between soft gel soap and contact lens solution.

Regular soap just isn't right for cleaning all of your uh.. parts... it can sting and sometimes cause a rash - this stuff just works great - it's mild and hypo-allergenic.It washes off easily so you don't have a film or any residue as with some other soaps.A dollup about the size of a dime is about all you need, and the generous amount in this 15 oz container usually lasts several months.

I have seen this product in the stores for some time now and I always wondered if it was good or not. I liked it. What I liked most about the feminine wash was that it was a thick gel, not runny. When you put it on a washcloth, it stays there. It lathers up well, too. I would recommend this product to a friend anytime.

I really wasn't sure I wanted to test and review Summer's Eve Feminine Wash Hypo-Allergenic Cleanser because, well, it's a private thing, you know? But now I'm glad I did! It sure isn't a product I would've bought to try on my own. I think every woman should have a sample to see what it's all about. The bottle is a large one, and contains enough product to last for a good long time. The ""wash"" is a gel that isn't thin and bubbles up really nicely. The scent is very light yet still pleasant.
