Never go back: the bloody expensive times
These were one of the first brands of tampons I ever tried, long before I found out how many different menstrual options I had (now using a Mooncup). As tampons themselves I always found Tampax to be lacking in comparison to other brands in the way in which they are shaped, tampons in general are hard to insert due to friction, but Tampax I always found to glide far less smoothly. They were removed as easy as other tampons, but of course with them absorbing moister they were still painful to remove. With a heavy flow I had to change every few hours even with the 'super', the regular were fine for light days, but I rarely used the lights because it never seemed worth it.

I wouldn't go back to tampons if you paid me, particularly commercial tampons and especially Tampax, tampons put women at far greater risk of infection by preventing natural vaginal cleaning and giving bacteria a place to multiply. Commercial tampons like this continue to use rayon despite the increase in TSS risk, and continue to use bleaching despite it's risk to health - something done purely because of menstrual taboos (whitest of white = sanitary enough to deal with menses). Tampax have the added issue of increasing period pains, this is because these are lengthways-expanding tampons, which are made by cutting rectangles from a length of cotton/viscose fleece, this means that they can expand into the cervix. Another issue being that these are advertised as 'flushable' when no tampon is flushable, an environmental risk at the best of times tampons do not break up in water so remain solid and absorbable so can block up pipes and can also make their way out the sewage systems into oceans.

Tampax themselves have a horrific track record, for years denying the risk of dioxin in their products during the 90's, the parent company owned Rely tampons that were responsible for the TSS scare in the 80's and have supported horrific animal testing and the use of harmful chemicals in many of their personal care products.

My recommendation is to go out and look at other options, there are 15+ options available, all of which are safer than commercial tampons, many also far cheaper and environmentally friendly, it really does pay to know all of your options and the background of the company you are supporting.
I'd much rather be paying $33 for 10 years for a menstrual cup than $330 for 10 years for commercial tampons (if only using 5 tampons per day on a 5 day cycle), even before going into the benefits in regards to health, environment, convenience, comfort, track record and issues relating to the way in which such companies keep 'the curse' taboo going for their profit.

Tampax is great
It looks to me like the reviewer from England didn't actually purchase the tampons, it's just someone who has a grudge against tampons in general and Tampax in particular.I have used Tampax for years and have never had any pain or health problems from their usage, and I will continue to use them till I no longer have a need for them.Not only that, but the price for a box of 100 is excellent.

The BEST for lighter days!
My local Duane Reade stopped stocking these... to my chagrin!They're the BEST BEST BEST for those days where it's too light to wear a regular tampon, but you really don't want to deal with light pads.

Mom with teen
Great item for young girls AND Adult women for those not so heavy days. The first time the curse hit on swimming day I gave my 13-year-old modest daughter the instructions and sent her to the bathroom. Told her if she needed help to let me know...she figured it out and now uses them all the time.
I find them useful for the lighter days insteand of a mini-pad.
Great item...Tampax just needs to make a larger count box. 30 count for 2 women doesn't last long.

Good for young teens!
I know for a fact these are perfect for those new to the curse!I've made a great hullabaloo in many reviews about my "other job": babysitting my friend's daughters.I sure as h-e-l-l want a couple rugrats myself, but haven't met Mr. Dreamboat (aka Studmeister!).It'll happen.But as for this product from Tampax, they are really well-suited to, you guessed it, teens.I had to insert it for Jane (not her real name) the first time, as her mom was unavailable and it was fair to call that an emergency.She's gotten the hang of it since then, but has still not learned to dispose of them properly (another story!). ... I think they work great.
After having two kids, I find that these are the tampons that work and stay put the best. They've been very reliable and I've never had a problem with them.

NOT flushable
These offer no more than any other tampon, it is still the same commercial rubbish with god knows what sort of harmful chemicals, as if it is not bad enough to sell such harmful products they are now saying that applicators are flushable?!
Tampons are not flushable, applicators are not flushable, no matter how much they are advertised as such, they will still mess up the sewage system and still cause just as much waste. ... Read more

Great Tampons
These tampons are tiny! I have used Slimfits and other plastic applicator tampons that claim to be better, but this is the smallest tampon on the market. Insertion is easy, even for first time users. Light Heavy Day Tampon
Everyone's flow is different, so I'll just tell you how these work for me. For my light heavy days this is the perfect fit to absorb well without leaking.
The tube is long and makes it much easier to use than all of those tiny compact things on the market. I'm an adult and if someone can't deal with the fact that I need a tampon that's there problem not mine. These are long, so they aren't easy to carry in small bags, but for me I find them worth the trouble because they work so well.

I have tried many products and the one company I keep returning to for feminine products is Kotex. These tampons are my choice after using several other plastic applicator tampons.

Too big
I bought these tampons because I have a pretty heavy flow on the first day or two. Well, they are HUGE. I can insert them, but it is not very comfortable. The strings are very small and flimsy, and make you feel like it's going to just rip when you pull it out...Tampax makes much better strings. Also, when I first bought these, I looked for the little piece of paper explaining how to use them...it doesn't even come with one! There is a tiny little area on the box that talks about Toxic Shock Syndrome, that's it. These tampons need to give more info about TCC, and how to insert properly (with diagrams).
If you are just looking for a basic tampon without regard to comfort or size, these may work for you. ... Read more

Great Product!
These are my first tampons, and I have to say they did a good job.I was nervous at first...being used to seeing the bulky regular sized tampons.But when I used these I realized how easy it was.When I wore pads at school, i had to change them every two periods (45 minute periods), but now I only have to change at lunch.The is one con to this product, though, there is some discomfort when I remove them.And I know that is how it is with every tampon since I have a light flow and they don't make light tampons, but the pain wasn't bad enough to make me stop using them.I highly reccomend them to first timers! ... My choice
Did I actually say that? Yes, these are my favorite tampons. They are big and bulky, but I don't have to worry about making a big mess because the tube is long. The absorbancy for the regulars are best for medium light days.

This tube has no shapes or designs so it's easy to use and remove.

I hate that they are so obviously tampons when you carry them in your purse, but I'm old enough not to care if someone sees one.

A size for each phase of your cycle
Kotex makes wonderful personal products. I have used many different products and am happy to speak about these. These tampons are long and a bit bulky. However, they are well worth it. The plastic applicators on these tampons are easy to use and keep your hands free of messes.

This particular pack had 3 different sizes. The regular I recommend for very heavy light days to light medium. The super are for medium to very light heavy days. The super plus I recommend for nights and very heavy days only. The reason I rate them like that is that Kotex tampons are super absorbant, so wearing the right size will allow for leak free days.

With this pack it has you covered for most days depending on your own flow. Instead of having several boxes you buy one to cover the various days.
