So comfortable
These are just amazing.I have pretty bad carpal tunnel in both hands, aggravated by a recent move and painting.My doctor suggested wrist splints at night, and I'll admit I didn't know why that should help, because I thought just wearing braces during repetitive activities should be enough.Sure enough, wearing wrist braces at night has dramatically improved my condition.

These wrist braces are extremely comfortable.They are padded inside, and are not too tight.Traditional braces tended to rub and chafe around the thumb area, to leave deep grooves in my skin if I wore them overnight, and were itchy and sweaty by morning.These are like wearing a cloud.Moreover, if I forget to put them on, and wake up with tingling and numbness in my hands, I can slip these on and the tingling disappears within seconds.Shaking my hands to restore feeling and trying to massage my arm and wrist area to relieve the tingling do not work, but these braces do.

The only disadvantage is that the brace completely encases your hand.It makes it impossible for you to readjust your pillow or the covers while wearing them.They do easily slide on and off, however.They're also washable.There is an adjustable version of the nighttime Pil-O-Splint, I believe.While I haven't tried it, if you have an exceptionally large or unusually small forearm, you may find that this one-size-fits-all version doesn't work for you, and may prefer to check out the adjustable version (also sold on Amazon).I was initially concerned that this product would not work for me, as it was a bit loose around the wrist, but found I didn't need it to be tightly compressed to work well.

All in all, the best brace for sleeping that I've ever found.Very happy with it.

Great Support!
I have tried many kinds of wrist splints since 1997 and my diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel in both wrists. I mainly need them at night, and most get too hot, itchy from being too tight, etc. These feel like a pillow and help me get more comfortable. My carpal tunnel doesn't cause me a lot of pain, unless I try to sleep without splints or do something stupid; it's mild and mostly numbness & tingling. That said, these certainly help me stay more comfortable during sleeping time, and my wrists don't sweat even when I get hot and the rest of me does. I love 'em, and recommend them to anyone who hates the stiff, tight kinds. These keep my wrists straight and my fingers in a comfortable position, which no other wrist brace I've tried does [others are made for daytime use, and I still have my Velcro metal backbone ones for outings]. In my case, it pays to have a different kind for sleeping.

Sounds like a commercial...but it's amazing
For many months I'd been suffering from a recurring nighttime problem: I'd awaken in the morning with a totally numb, cold right hand.Obviously, it's a case of carpal tunnel syndrome.As a pianist and teacher, this is not something I need to deal with!

But from the first night I began wearing the Pil-O-Splint, the numbness completely disappeared.I could hardly believe it.One night, just as a test, I didn't put it on....guess what, I awoke in the middle of the night with a numb right hand!

Since then, I've consistently used it and have found continued relief.

great over the counter wrist splint
i suffer from carpal tunnel, and this is the best non-prescription splint i've found for sleeping.i had a custom made splint that was excellent, but it was starting to fall apart.the great thing about this one is that it's much longer than most splints you'll find at the drugstore.that way it doesn't dig into your arm and makes it quite comfy. ... Sizing
I've just had this for a day, and it seems OK for hand fatigue so far.

FYI on sizing
Measure across your knuckles (index to pinky), on your palm.
up to 3 inches = small
3 in. up to just over 3.5 inches = medium
3.7 inches (or so) to 4+ in. = large.

avoid wearing anything like it during the day
If you wear this glove and still use your hand, you are not helping Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) or Repetitive strain injuries.You will not be preventing yourself from furthur injury nor will you be treating your injury.If you wear this glove during the day and have CTS or repetitive strain injury you will be making your condition worse.

For a brief period of time, my doctor told me to wear one when I was sufferning from CTS.Later, I discovered that the glove was actually making my condition worse.This glove still allows one to use the hand in grasping and squeezing yet restricts one from using the muscles to keep the wrist from drooping.CTS and other repetitive strain injuries of the wrist are caused by a muscle imbalance in the wrist and fingers.Hence when a person wears a glove like this they are increasing the muscle imbalance and worsening their condition.Wear this glove at night when you are asleep, but NEVER use it during the day.

Great Product!!!
Wow!I can't believe how quickly my wrists stopped aching when I am at work.The gloves feel great, they're soft and they don't make your hands sweat.The best thing I found was that they don't restrict the motion of your hands, so it's easy and comfortable to type when they're on.I suggest trying them out for yourself.

Kinda Good
I just purchased 2 gloves, one for each hand.They were not exactly the same size, one was slightly harder to get my hand into than the other.I am still using them and think that I may start seeing improvement in the comfortability of my hands, but it remains up in the air.The looser feeling of the gloves does feel really good and make it easier to type.I would have also preferred that they use some softer or gelly like substance in the palms of the gloves instead of the bean bag type stuff they currently are using.Overall, if your hands hurt before, during, or after typing, these are definately something that you should at least try out for yourself. ... Couldn't work without them
I have been using handeze gloves for 6-7 years. I have tendonitis and I also have a job that requires me to work at the computer all day. I would not be able to type for more than a few minutes if it were not for these gloves. These gloves do not restrict movement like so many of the other gloves on the market, so they are much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time, they are most comfortable when worn inside out however because of the seams.

This does not work for tendonitis.
The folks who use this item does not have tendonitis. It is no more help than wear a pair of underware on my hands. The other splints I have worn are so cumbersome, I thought these would be more comfortable. More comfortable, but no support and no help for my thumbs.

handeze really works!
I've been using these gloves for about 5 years and I can't go without them!I work all day at the computer, and my fingers start getting a little tingly/painful after 20 minutes if i don't use the handeze.With the gloves, though, i can go all day.I guess they improve the circulation a lot.I've never used any other brand, so I can't compare, but I highly recommend handeze.

Use a keyboard or play video games?Then you need these!
I have tendonitis in both hands (been tested for CT, negative so far), and I spend a lot a time on the keyboard-either at work, or on the PC at home.I also play a lot of video games.Before I found these gloves, I would be in constant discomfort doing any of the above.I had those stiff braces that they give everyone with hand problems, but I found them too bulky and stiff for everyday use.I tried these a pair of the Handeze on a whim, and it was almost unreal-my discomfort effectively vanished.I was able to type at work and play games at home for extended periods.Now they're not a panacea-I still use a wristpad on my keyboard & mouse and I exercise my hands for short breaks-but they do work as advertised.Since they leave my fingers and thumbs uncovered, I have no problems holding game controllers and joysticks.A pair of these last me about four to five months on average-I'm on my fifth pair and I've been using this product for two years now.I also have several co-workers that started using them after I introduced them to the gloves.Whaddaya have to lose? ... Thumb support is annoying
The thumb support is very annoying, even after taking out the splints. Maybe it is because I have side buttons on my mouse. I had to cut it off after half an hour. Jury is still out on the rest of the glove.

A great investment!
I work more than 8 hours a day online at my keyboard. Much of that time is spent typing medical reports. I have used this glove for approximately 3 weeks, and I am very happy with it. I wash my gloves every 3-4 days. It doesn't seem to stretch out very much between washings and seems to be holding up well to repeat washings. I find the glove with the thumb support to be much better for my mouse hand (right) and I use the version without the thumb support for my left hand. I purchased one set and then decided to purchase a second set to have available while the first set is drying. If you know anyone with carpal tunnel problems, this is a great gift!

Also, check around on the Internet and you will find that Amazon's price is the best on this item!

great for repetitive hand motions
The wrist wrap I like best does not seem to be on the market anymore, and I love this Smart Glove--more comfortable than thebrand on sale at the drugstore.Also, the ones I have now have metal supports that keep ripping through the fabric--I'm not sure why, but it has something to do with the fit, and the problem is actually worse on the newer models than the older models.Smartglove has no metal, and I think it will last a lot longer.Smartglove gave good wrist support, and also good thumb support without making the thumb totally immobile.It also seemed to breathe well, and did not seem to get sweaty as rapidly as some other hand supports.

Please note that the advertisement makes it sound as if there are two gloves, but it's just one glove which is reversible (for either hand).

I am giving it 4 stars because I don't know yet how often I will have to wash it, and if it will stretch out after washing it, but I really love it and am ordering three more of them!It feels great, and also looks a little nicer than some of the other clunky things I have used.I also can't give it 5 stars until I try it on a day where I am really using my thumbs like crazy all day--that will be the real test. ... Ok, but not small enough
I have small hands and wrists and the size SMALL is still pretty loose on me. Would be much better if it had a more snug fit. I feel like I'm not getting the full benefit of the support since my wrist has a lot of room to move around in there. It helps somewhat though, and is better than using nothing, so I will still use it. But there should be an XS option (which, if it exists, I couldn't find).

They work!And they're machine washable!
What first attracted me to this one is its simplicity: You just slip it on and you're ready to go. No straps or laces to fiddle with. It's just as easy to slip off. And it's machine washable! We use are hands for everything, you know something covering them is going to get filthy, not to mention a bit of sweat.

The glove is made of cotton lycra, so it's as comfortable as a t-shirt and very stretchy. More importantly, it breathes so there's no sweat build-up under there. The tightness of the material serves as secondary wrist support.

The main support device is a foam-padded plastic (or maybe it's metal, I'm not sure) bar. It's stiff but flexible, and the foam padding keeps the bar from digging into your hand. The bar goes across the top of your hand rather than the bottom like most wrist supports. It is removable (be sure to remove it before washing). I read one review somewhere where the guy claimed the bar kept sliding out for him. I have no idea what he's talking about because the slot it slides out of is smaller in width than the bar itself, so you have to stretch the slot wide open in order to drag the thing out.

The other unusual feature of this glove is the "bean-bag" on the bottom. It serves to elevate your wrist to the proper hight so it helps to keep your wrists comfortably straight. It basically replaces the wrist rests you have for your keyboard and mouse. The "beans" are actually tiny plastic beads that don't dig into your hand at all.

I don't have carpal tunnel syndrome or tendonitis yet, but my wrists were starting to feel sore. I was afraid of developing something serious, so I got these gloves as a preventative measure. While using these gloves, my wrists don't feel sore while typing.

I read that wearing wrist supports while you sleep is also helpful because at night you tend to unknowingly bend your wrists in awkward positions. It took a little getting used to, but I think it is helping. With these Smart Gloves on during sleep, my wrists are able to rest in a proper straight position, giving them valuable healing time.

I read one review somewhere (probably on Amazon.com) where one lady complained that her wrists became MORE sore after wearing these gloves. My belief is that this is because she was fighting against them rather then letting them guide her "hand posture". If you have bad typing habits, wearing wrist supports aren't going to help if you continue to insist on using your old habits, which will probably cause you to strain against the support. This would cause even more stress on your wrists, and thus cause more soreness. What this lady needed was probably something with an inflexible metal support to force her hands into the proper position.

The bean bags under your wrists are easy to get used to with your keyboard, but harder with your mouse. Your mouse will be much easer to use if it's of a smaller size. If you have one of those big contoured mice designed to fit your entire hand, will will need pretty long fingers to reach the buttons. A short mouse, maybe a portable one designed for use with a laptop, would be better.

This glove is designed for flexible support. This is a plus if you need a bit of movement, but a minus if you need strong support to keep yourself from straining.

As is likely with any wrist support, it's difficult to wear a watch while wearing one of these gloves. You have to either loosen the watch and wear it higher on your arm, or just remove it while wearing the glove. Another option is to wear it on top of the glove, which some may think is silly, but I think it looks kinda cool. Of course that would defeat the purpose of the glove being easy to slip off.

Since the Smart Glove is not adjustable, it comes in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. If you are buying it from a retail store, the side of the box has a little chart to measure your hand. Make sure you get the right size or it will be too tight or too loose. If you are buying it online, then use the measurements as follows:

Measure the width of your open hand at the knuckles.
3 inches or less = Small
3 - 3.5 inches = Medium
3.5 inches or more = Large

There is no left and right glove. They are all made the same. The default is right hand. To wear it on your left you need to remove the bar, turn the glove inside out, and slide the bar back in.

The box claims it was "developed by a hand surgeon" on one side and "designed by an orthopedic surgeon" on another side. My question is, if it was developed by one surgeon, why isn't his or her name on it? It's possible that it's true since it is a fairly unique design compared to other wrist supports. But I just find it a bit fishy that they won't mention which hand surgeon it was!

Not Sure What They're Thinking
This product is like putting your hand in a sock.
It's pretty much pointless.It's all loose; but
since it's cut off at the fingers, you won't have
to worry about over heating I guess.Actually

Ridiculous
I have been experiencing increasing wrist pain over the past couple of months, and decided that I needed to do something to head off carpal tunnel or some such thing at the pass. So I ordered this product thinking that it would offer some support and, perhaps, alleviate some of the pain in my wrist. Ha! This "glove" couldn't do any of that. I bought the smallest glove possible and to say it was "form fitting" would be a joke. There was no "compression" and no "support" offered by this product. I had the same amount of movement in my wrist whether I wore it or not. Also, the heating and massage element of this product is practically nonexistent. I was very disappointed in the Handeze glove and felt that it claimed to help with more symptoms then it could ever hope to and that it grossly exaggerated the beneficial aspects of the product. I wear these to bed if my carpal tunnel wrist pain acts up during the day, works like a charm.I agree with the other post that they do hinder your ability to perform daily tasks.

Good for some hand problems!
I have severe arthritic deterioration in my thumb joint, and the heavier models are too stiff for me.I like this model, and I've bought quite a few of them.My main complaint with this model is that the edges on the fabric aren't finished, and it gets funky looking pretty fast.

This glove will simply temporarily mask some of the symtoms associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and repetitive strain injuries and make problems worse. Since one still has full function of his/her hands when using this, you are further injuring your hands by using the flexor muscles in grabing and squeezing. When using these gloves, your hands and wrist will feel better at first, but once the glove is removed your problems will persist and get progressively worse. ... Read more
