A fatal design flaw makes this unit quite painful
I have had a previous model panasonic trimmer, but it gave up the ghost and I had to replace it.So I went with another Panasonic.

My old Panasonic didn't hurt.Its blades were configured to hit the hairs at a more right angle, cutting cleanly and quickly.Hairs could only enter the cutting zone of the head on the SIDES of the cutter, not on the tip.

This (reviewed) unit allows hairs to enter the END of the cutter, where they are TWISTED out of your skin.It hurts like crazy - and I'm highly pain tolerant.I think they must have done it to make the tip smaller.But it's a totally ineffective compromise.It made my eyes water and started an insane sneezing fit.Entertaining for my wife, yes, but this thing is no good.Not even worth returning - this is hitting the trash can.

As I learned in the course of making my 2 instructional dvds for adults, "New Sex Now" and "Goddess Worship", good personal grooming is vital for creating intimacy and close relationships. I would highly advise that anyone with an ear and/or nose hair "issue" to use one of these groomers or one like it in order to deal with the issue and make it a non-issue. Small things like a few stray hairs sticking out of the wrong place on your body could damage or eliminate your chances with a given individual, and thus make you miss out on an opportunity to enjoy the sweetness of life.

Save your money for something else
I took the trimmer out and pop a new battery in and it didn't even start. I heard there might be some quality issue with this product but this is ridicules. I didn't even had a chance to use it.

Amazon immediately sent a replacement and I received it in 4 days. The trimmer seems to pull the hairs out of the nose in order to cut them. This is the first time I'm afraid of a nose trimmer. I will recommend people to use with care.

TRIMMER???
It did not trim the hair but pull the hair out...It is a good accompaniment if you are on the highway for a long long trip...When you are sleepy, just trun it on and pull your nose hair...Better than any refreshing stuffs!!!

as good as waxing, but not for bikini line
I used to use wax strips to wax my legs, which were relatively fast and easy. Until I found my SilkEpil. The first time I used it I didn't even try it with the head which supposedly makes it less painful, because I am used to waxing. I was a little shocked by the pain at first, but quickly got used to it, and by the end of the session it was more like a warm sensation with no pain. I then tried it on my bikini line with the head to reduce pain. I have since decided never to try it again. Waxing is equally painful, but lasts half-a-second, where this takes 5 minutes to do a couple square inches. Very uncomfortable, I didn't even finish. However, it also comes with a shaver head which is very convenient. (you can trim your bikini hair to half a centimeter) I did both of my lower legs in 20 minutes on the first time, and have been quicker since. It also takes only a couple minutes to clean it. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I was spending much more for the wax strips. (which are about 6 bucks per waxing, which is a fraction of the cost for professional waxing). Another benefit to this over waxing is that the hair doesn't have to be as long for it to be effective. Which is a major perk to my husband, because I don't have to go as long with gorilla legs.

First time buyer
If you are a first time buyer/user, do read a sample of reviews - it will help a lot in the decision making process. I thank everybody who have contributed their reviews, as it helped me make my decision. As for the product, this is the perfect thing to use when in between the waxing stages. If you are used to waxing, there is no pain. I have been waxing for the past 5 years and the pain was no more then what I experience while waxing. However, if you have never waxed before you will feel a bit of a prick and redness. Lower legs are definitely much easier to do than the upper legs - but hold you skin taut and you will be fine. The biggest challenge is figuring out how fast to move the epilator - initially I ended up breaking my hair rather than pulling it out. I definitely recommend waxing before using this product. This way you are only dealing with so much hair at a time.

The best epilator
After reading reviews and wanting a hair removal system that I could use on my bikini line, underarms and legs without shaving or going to the salon for waxing, I purchased this item yesterday. Beacuse I had already shaved my legs before purchasing, I was unable to test it on my legs, but I did do it on my bikini line. I have very course dark hair on my bikini area and I have been shaving for a few weeks because I have been taking my 7 month old daughter to waterbabies classes. I put a cold ice pack on the area before starting off about 30-40 seconds and then I started. My area was already short due to last weeks shaving. As I went over the bikini area I was surprised at how little pain their was. It was like a litte pinch, but it subsided as I went along. Now the area is smooth excpet for some ingrown hairs I had to take out with tweezers because of the shaving. The after effect was redness and the feeling I just had a waxing. No pain or anything. I have tried other epilators in the past and they all went back. This one I am keeping. I will have to try it on my legs and underarms when the hair begins to grow back from shaving. This is fantastic. All ladies should try it. Just remember, in the bikini area, make sure you use the trimmier attachment to make he hairs less dense. Also try the ice if you are very sensitive to pain. I will update my review in a couple of weeks when I get to try my legs.

My New Best Friend!
This item has really been a Godsend for me, I cannot praise it enough. It has given me the freedom to be able to go on vacation and wear a bikini without having to spend 45 mins in the bathroom shaving every other day, I can go to the closet and pick out a skirt or sleeveless top without having to worry that I did not shave my legs or underarms. I can be with my partner at anytime without worrying about the stubble appearing on my legs.

I honestly dont know why I did not buy this before, I think it is because my mother used to have an ancient epilator that I used once and never tried again due to the incredible pain and the fact that it barely removed any hairs.

I got to the point of being so sick of shaving every day for 15 years, I read the reveiws saying the the epilators have come a long way and and decided to try it again. The first time you use it it is very important to grit your teeth and just go for it, it hurts but you must do it, do all of the areas you usually shave including underarms and bikini line. It is true that the Braun makes epilating the knees pretty impossible but that is the only downside, it is an excellent machine, and removes 100% of hairs that are not to short for it to grasp. The hair only needs to be about 2mm for the Braun to be able to pull it. The pain releiving head really helps also, it is much like when the nurse scratches your arm prior to taking blood, it kind of very lightly scratches your skin as it goes along so that the hair pulling is not so painful, it sounds bad but is not, it makes it much easier to bear.

If you can grit your teeth and bear the first couple of times you epilate, it becomes much easier as you get used to it, the hair gets weaker and weaker every time you epilate and is removed easier every time. Dont forget the hair grows in cycles so you will have to epilate a few times, possibly every 3-4 days until all the hair is gone. After that it will stay relatively smooth for several weeks. When it does grow back it will come gradually and it will be thinner and softer, there will not be that stubbly feeling as when you shave. You will be able to get away with wearing skirts and having somebody touch your legs even while it is growing back through.

If you can bear the pain the first few times, and really give this product a chance you will be so thankful that you did, you will be so rewarded in ways that you probably would not even have noticed before. Just being able to jump into the pool when friends come over, or a spontaneous afternoon at the beach without the headache of having to prepare.

Really the epilator has given me a freedom I have wished for all my life, I am kicking myself that I did not buy it before. It is worth every penny. I could never find the time to go to the salon to get waxed, or justify the expense, and the home kits are awkward and messy, you have to be a double-jointed octopus to get to everywhere that needs waxing, and it would take a lot of boxes and a hell of a lot of time to do a whole 2 legs, bikini and underarms. So I have shaved all my life. There were never any other options, I thought about laser but it is too expensive, time consuming, and I have been told the hairs do grow back. Surprise!It actually works very well.
God has a cruel sense of humor.Why else would he design so many males so that their hairs would fall out of their heads and sprout out of their ears, nose, and back?

Panasonic has done the mankind a favor by inventing this much needed gizmo, though no man with any pride would admit to buying or even needing this device.It's doubtful that Americans would have ever invented this device.It took the Japanese - who in their country have hair salons where women can go get their pubic hairs (yes you read that right) trimmed, styled, and colored - to do so.

The device in the photo looks kinda scary - who'd enjoy shoving a mechanical device with a buzzing blade into his nose?I finally took the plunge and bought this thing, because the errant nose hairs constantly tickled inside of my nose.The days of shoving a pair of scissors inside of my nose is finally over.

Is it me or do all the reviews for this product sound phony?They don't sound genuine... almost as if someone who works for Panasonic wrote them.

Works great, and here's some tips
I've never dared use one of these but finally got tired of stray hairs peeking out.I put it to use last night and it works great.What more needs to be said about a nose hair trimmer??

A little more.First, the light actually is useful...just not when you've got it stuck in your nose cutting hair.Its use is when you periodically need to examine inside to see how you're doing.So spend the big bucks for the lighted model, otherwise you'll have to keep a flashlight around.

Second, when you first get it, it has a light oil film on the cutter.Good for the machinery but not so much for your nose.So I recommend you take an alcohol swab, take the cutter apart like they say and clean everything before the first use.

Nose Hair trimmer that REALLY WORKS
I have had 5 nose hair trimmers, none worked. I purchased the Panosonic ER421KC and it really works. For the guys who resort to scissors, this is the way to go. Easy and not as noisey as the hedge clipper style trimmers.

Very good product
Yea, it hurts (mainly under my arms), but it works very very well.It doesn't really hurt on my legs at all, but it is pretty time consuming to get all the hair off the first few times. It probably works best on small areas, like the underarms, for this reason. Once your hair starts to grow back sparser and weaker, it works a lot faster. Be careful- the first time I used it under my arms, I burned myself because I held it too close to my skin for too long.Its easy to use and maintain, and the benefits definitely outweigh the setbacks.

Just recieved this product and could not wait to try it. Unitill it touched my skin. The pain isn't to bad since your leg will go numb after a few minutes. But the BAD part is ...when you look at your legs it only cut not even 1/2 of your hairs!!!!!!!!!! So you endure PAIN and your legs aren't even smooth. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !! Don't WASTE YOUR MONEY. I'm sending mine back !!!!!!!!

wonderful! I'll never wax again!
I purchased this item strictly to use on my upper lip and chin. I normally wax, and even still got a little top layer of skin yanked off. (which turned into a nasty little scab as it healed)I also still had to go back over with tweezers for those strays. I threw out my wax as soon as I used this! It's soo fast and easy. The pain is minimal(when you first start)to nothing(after you've started). Especially if you're used to waxing. And there were NO strays, even the shortest hairs were gone. I personally had no irritation. This thing does a better job by far than any wax, even at a salon. I'm so excited that I'm trying to work up the nerve to do my legs and "other areas", I've never waxed anywhere else though,that's the only reason I'm a little hesitant.I've never tried an epilator before and I'm sooo glad I got this! Great Trimmer

Cannot recommend this
I owned a Wahl trimmer before and decided to try out the Norelco Trimmer coz of its price. I only use the trimmer occassionally. The trimmer is nice and light, and handles the job well. Even liked the nose trimmer attachment. The battery charger however, is a piece of junk. I had followed instructions and charged the unit for the first time as indicated in the manual. I used the trimmer a couple of times after that till the charge ran out. When I tried to recharge it, it just died out. No indicator light - nothing. It looks pretty, but is anything but sturdy. I switched back to my Wahl trimmer.

Can't beat it for price
I use this groomer for everything.It cuts through the hair on my head with no trouble when I decide it's time for the bald look.It does a nice job of trimming nose and ear hair.It allows me to trim my moustache and eyebrows with great accuracy.I even use it on my girlfriend to trim something that shall go unmentioned here, but she never complains about the results.I would buy this product again.

I was looking for a good trimer for my beard. I was also looking for a nose and ear hair trimmer. I came across this set and it had both items I was looking for in one package. When I received the trimmer it was packaged in a clear plastic casing. It comes with a cheap charging stand holder. The item worked better than expected. It trimed my beard well. The nose hair came off without pain. The set is light weight and the case holder not the best, In fact it was slightly difficult to put the plug into the charging stand. I liked the set since it does work well. In fact, I bought an extra one to give as a gift to my brother in law.

Bad design
While the concept of the built in comb is a good one, this design just does not work well and don't count on the vacuum catching all your clippings because it can only hold about half the volume of a shot glass. I ended throwing mine away and switching back to my old Oster hair clippers with the snap on combs for my head and bought a small rechargeable Waring beard trimmer. The twist dial for the comb length on this unit can be wrong - I gouged my beard/sideburns once with this unit. The comb unit must be removed for frequent cleaning and putting it back on correctly takes a delicate touch. The large size of the unit and comb also makes it verr difficult to trim your moustache close to your nose. Don't waste your money.

keystone cops
As my title says this trimmer is the keystone cops of beard trimmers. The people who call this trimmer good must have peach fuzz for beards. The vacuum is a waste of money, it keeps getting clogged so you have to take it apart two or three times during trimming to keep it working. DON'T take apart the vacuum too much to clean as the spring inside is loose and it ended up in the trap of my sink. And finally forget the settings. I start off with a three setting for example and notice some of my beard is shorter than other parts and look at the settings and somehow the thing has slipped to #2. So then you do a 2 only to find out it has slipped again to 1. If you want a laugh buy this thing but if you want a trim dont buy it. Where is my old definition sixty which was battery operated but was better than this. Go back to the drawing board and do away with all the gadgetry and come out with something that trims beards properly and maintains the settings. Is that too much to ask??

Tried the rest. This is the best
I've tried others, corded and rechargeable. Nothing beats a Norelco. The vaccum gets about 80% of the hair and cuts better then any other shaver I have had (except other Norelcos.)

Good Trimmer - not good for cutting hair
I ordered this trimmer to replace a dead Panasonic trimmer. I used that trimmer both for my beard and for clipping my head hair down to very short size once every couple of months. The panasonic worked very well for both purposes.

This Norelco is a great beard trimmer and the vac part is quite nice in that it makes much less of a mess. However, it is a horrible trimmer for thick head hair like mine. I know that that's not what it's for, but just in case someone is looking for a trimmer for the same purpose: don't buy this one. The head hair accumulates in the vac part and in front of the blade, making you empty it almost every stroke. Once full of hair, the trimmer does next to nothing until you empty it, and then is only good for another 1 stroke. The motor also easily gets overloaded in thick hair and stops.

Again - fine beard trimmer, but do not use for head hair. I'll be buying the updated Panasonic model again to replace this one for that purpose.

Works great on husband's back.
I can't stand using this thing on my legs because it hurts way too much. But I started using it on my husband's back hair about a year ago. It quickly tears all of his back hair in less than 10 minutes. I can't say that it isn't painless for him. Actually, I kind of enjoy making him squirm. We only need to use it about once a month to keep him completely smooth. Unlike the other reviews, I can't say that his back hair has decreased or become more fine with use, but I can say that it works better than any other device we've tried and us much cleaner than sugars and waxes.

Would pay hundred of $$ for this.
This is my third epilator.I can't imagine removing hair any other way.It removes hair better than waxing..with the convenience of shaving.I use it for underarms, legs and bikini line.Yes, the first time is painful, but after that its smooth sailing.The Emjoi can remove very short hairs.If I can see a hair, I can remove it. With waxing, you have to wait until the hairs get long enough, and them you don't get 100% of them.I've been using this device for over a year, and haven't gotten the ingrown hairs that I got my older epilators.The shape is easy to hold and use.Stop shaving, stop waxing..but this product.

I LOVE IT

No More Razors
Although my 1st review was basically saying how much it hurt and that after I was finally done removing the hair I was very pleased with the results. That was last night when I wrote it, but this morning is a different story. I'm feeling soreness and its still showing redness. Maybe its because I didn't put anything afterwards to soothe the skin after having hair being pulled out like that.I also wanted to mention that during the hair removal process I was bleeding from the hair being riped out. I could have been holding the machine wrong. Nonetheless which ever way I tried to hold it I still bled until I pulled out all the hairs and then it stop.I still like this product and I'm hoping that with more uses the pain will lessen with each hair removal process.

No More Razors
I received this product a few days ago. I used it for the first time tonight. First, I must say that I am not too fond of the shape and design. But I worked with it. The first place I used this Emjoi Optima was on my underarms. IT WAS PAINFUL. On a scale of 1-10 I gave the pain a 20. I had to stop and start over and over again. I didn't even have that much hair because I had shaved just a couple of days before I decided to use this product. Less hair does not necessary mean less pain.For me the pain was just unbearable. It took me1 1/2 hours just to do under both underarms. After I was done with both armpits I was VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND THAT THE PAIN WAS WORTH IT. IT REMOVED ALL THE HAIRS. Great clipper
I was sort of reading mixed reviews on this clipper, so I was nervous about ordering but i'm real glad I did.Some of the poor reviewers were saying that it pulled hair and it hurt and this and that.Well thats a bunch of garbage.I have REALLY thick hair (I'm russian).I didn't have any problem whatsoever with any pain or pulling.It cut very nicely and easily.I only cut my hair once so far so i'll update this after more cuts... but as of now I am VERY satisfied with this clipper!

Give yourself a crewcut
After much shilly-shallying, I took the plunge and bought this set several months ago -- and for me, at least, it's worked out extremely well.I've been saving a bundle on regular haircuts by cutting my own hair; it's amazingly easy and also saves me time, as it takes just a few minutes to do.Note -- this is important -- that I keep my hair short all around (maybe a tad longer in the front), basically crewcut length, so there's not much art to cutting it.I started out, somewhat nervously, using the #8 black plastic attachment (which leaves hair the longest), but now use the #6.I simply stand in my bathtub (a DRY bathtub, needless to say; you want somewhere for the cut hair to fall that'll be easy to clean up) and clip my hair all around, occasionally looking in a cheap, light suction-cup mirror that I stick to the bathroom wall, but mainly doing it by touch.Now, it's possible that my friends have been lying to me or snickering behind my back, but -- at least to my face -- they all say they think my hair looks great.I have no idea how hard or easy it would be to cut hair if it were long and/or wavy; perhaps that would take more skill than I possess.But for my purposes, this electric clipper has been a great decision and has already paid for itself many times over.

Very satisfied
Bought to cut my own hair while in school.I have wavey hair, but the clippers work really easily.No pulling.I was careful the first haircut (took me close to 40 minutes), but it turned out really well.Don't hesitate to buy.Take your time trimming.It helps to have a small, handheld mirror and/or someone to make sure you trim the back evenly.

This clipper pays for itself
I use this clipper set to trim my husband's very short hair. He used to go to a stylist who charged him $25 a cut.Because his ideal cut is very close all around, he needed to get a new cut every 4 weeks or so, and those fees really add up quickly. We finally cut the cord with the stylist and bought a home clipper set.

The clipper is powerful and does not get too warm. It is easy to use and the included video makes it easy to learn to cut hair. I haven't attempted any of the more complicated cuts, we just use a Number One comb all over my husband's head and clean up the edges without any comb at all. However, we do find all the accessories to be very useful; the brush for cleaning the clippers, the lubricating oil, and the brush for sweeping stray hairs off the neck. Occasionally I use the shears to trim the hair around his ears, too. The kit also has a mirror and a plastic apron, which are helpful to have.

Perfect for my number 1 all over do.
Im probably not the best person to review this complete haircut kit as I literally shave my head short (number 1) all over. However for this persom they are great. They feel very well made and durable. They are extremely sharp and not having to oil them is a very welcome feature. They hold their charge well enough. As for the other 21 pieces in the set I can really comment as I wont be using them but they look of a decent quality. Shame remington cannot introduce a stand alone clipper set without all the fancy accessories for a cheaper price for those who just buzz cut though.

Not what I expected!
When used with anything but the one inch attachment it badly pulls hair. Even the scissors and trimmer are dull.

Chromed and sharp for the chrome dome
Simply put, these clippers work great.I really don't know what a couple of the other reviewers have been talking about.My hair is particularly thick, and the clippers run through it like a knife through warm butter.The cordless option is fantastic.Though it is indeed a bit less powered than when plugged into an outlet, it worked well enough for me to cut my hair standing in the tub so that the hair clippings did not fall all around the bathroom.Let's run through the summary:

PROS
-light, very light...so it's easily maneuverable.
-very quiet.
-comes with a bunch of different size groomers and trimmers for varying lengths.I have opted to go near bald sometimes and otherwise chosen to leave my hair pretty long in other cases.It worked well in both instances.
-cordless.

CONS
-really, I can't think of one.If hard-pressed, I might suggest a better storage box for all the trimmers and accessories that it comes in. But quite frankly, you get two brushes to clean the trimmers, a bunch of varying length attachments, and a storage bag.

All in all, this is a terrific clippers and a great value.Frankly, the only thing that irks me is that the price has come down 5 bucks since I bought mine 6 months ago.But, the price was still low in the first place, so what's the deal.


UPDATE: I am lowering the review to 4 stars.The clippers are still pretty nice, but they lose their sharpness very very quickly.I am in talks with Remington to figure out a way to resolve this problem.

That was the scream of my husband when getting his hair cut by this new set of clippers.Our old one finally died after 5 years (a different brand) so I tried to research some clippers.I saw Remington seemed to have only a slightly higher rating than others so I thought we'd go for that one.

The only pro?It's whisper quiet, he didn't even know it was on...

A Great Find
Ok, first off I do have to say, this product will hurt in more sensitive areas.I didn't have too much trouble using it on my legs, it didn't feel any worse than waxing.However, working on the underarms was quite painful.In order to avoid this, I used ice packs on that area first and then went ahead with the epilator.This seemed to cut down on the pain, and then it went very quickly after that.

Your legs will not be a smooth as they are with shaving, but you also won't get the same type of irritation and you won't need to remove the hair as frequently as with shaving.I just got tired of having to shave every other day in order to remain totally smooth.Waxing became too expensive and time consuming.This item is wonderful because I can do it at my own pace and on my own schedule.If you're planning on using this item though, be sure to exfoliate both before and after to help prevent ingrown hairs.I've had a few, but not as many as I'd get with waxing.

This product is an excellent choice for women with heavier hair growth who need to shave frequently.If you want that silky smooth you get from a razor, this one isn't for you.It does get even some of the shortest hairs, which is a nice bonus.You don't need to keep going over and over an area in order to get full hair removal.

Not a Great Choice for Coarse Hair
After 2 years of using the Optima I decided to give this one a try, mainly because of the cordless option. I gave it a valiant effort, but it is just not powerful enough for me: it took twice the time of the Optima to get all the hair. It would likely be a worthwhile option for someone with fine or sparse hair.

I've used Emjoy's gold epilators for years when the usual price was much higher. They sometimes caught my skin if I didn't keep it taught, some places were hard to reach with the curved head & it only seemed to get 50% of the hairs. I also had to go over the same spot over & over & over & still only get about 50% of the hairs (I'm past German/Russian/Polish which the woman are mostly fair-skinned with very dark, coarse hair.) The rechargeable battery would die out fast or not work as powerful within 6-8 months.

Braun is SOOO much better! It gets much more hairs in less times with less need to go over the same spot, LESS painful, almost nothing compared to Emjoy, it doesn't get caught on any skin. It's weird, with Emjoy, I had to hold it very tightly & push it against my skin, while Braun works better with a VERY light hold barely skimming over the skin surface.

I NEVER HAVE TO SHAVE AGAIN!

happy at last
I have a pair of GE clippers that are dreadful. I have to go back with scissors to even out the mess they've left behind. I so much hated cutting my children's hair because of the pull and mess, I wait until they look like little animals. After reading all the reviews for clippers on this site, I was waffling between these Vidal Sassoon and the Andis pet clippers from petco. I got these at Target today and came right home to cut hair. They already had enough charge to test, but I hooked them to the cord(which is like a cell charger) and had my 6 yo done in no time. I am so happy with these clippers! They have the best attachments I have seen or used yet. They have longer and shorter settings. I didn't even have to use scissors on my 9 mo.I did use the scissors on my 6yo. Wahl has a winner!
I have had several trimmers this one is the best so far. It's six-position beard regulator works pretty well and attaches. The six positions go from a long comb to allow longer beards to a very short to keep contours close. Of course, if you remove the attachment you can use it to trim up a mustache. It does its job as expected.
After reading many of the reviews for other brands and some other Panasonic trimmers I decided to take a chance with this one that had no reviews and really not much info on it whatsoever. I took the risk based on how poor the ratings and reviews were for most of the other similar products on the site and I decided to go with this one based on brand recognition, price and appearance (marketing students take notice hehe..)
This is the first time I have actually bought a nose hair trimmer so I have nothing else to compare it with but as I stated in the title it does its job as expected.
The unit is attractive looking with a dark and light blue metallic-looking combination. The casing is not metallic but plastic and although it looks very nice I find my 2 year old Norelco beard trimmer better looking than this unit. To be more specific it doesn't look as fancy but it does look very good.
The unit is small at 5.5 inches long and a bit over 1 inch wide at its widest point. It is by no means heavy. It is powered by a AA battery and has no recharging option and can't be plugged in. But I am guessing a single battery will last plenty so those are really not drawbacks methinks!
Does it work? Why yes! Like I said before I have nothing to compare it to, but like they say, first impressions are very important and this unit has indeed given me a good first impression. It nose-trimmed very well and the process was both effortless and painless (have not tried using it for my ears and I don't think I ever will as I don't have that problem so I can't report on that). The motor makes the blades spin quite fast (rotary blades) which is what makes the trimming painless and the blades themselves are surrounded by a plastic casing to prevent injuries, it works well. To store it you are provided a plastic cap to cover both the blades and the plastic casing around them.
It is easily disassembled (for cleaning purposes) and reassembled.
My only concern for now will be how long it will last. I am not too fond of products made in China and this product is well... made in China. The unit (the blades) as stated in the user's manual is supposed to last for 2 years if used on a single 1 minute session each week, which I think by itself is aiming a little towards the disposable category but again for the price I have no problem with that. My problem would be if the unit would die at any time before at least six months of normal use. I started using it mid May, so I'll update this report if it fails before mid November, if I haven't updated by then, that means it is still going and it can keep its 5 star rating.
So should you get it? I would say: go for it!!

One of the best
I have had Emjoi for a couple of months...and to tell you frankly, after my first use it was sitting on the shelf. It hurts!! But two months ago I read a review which suggested of take a painkiller. Well, it worked wonderfully. In less that half-an-hour I had silky legs and I did not feel the pain!

For first time users I have a suggestion. If you are unsure of your pain tolerance level, take a painkiller. I also figured out that it may be a good idea to use Veet or Nair first, wait for two weeks and then epilate. The reason being, if you are a first time user, your hair are probably quite long. It would hurt more to eplilate longer hair than shorter.

On the whole I liked the machine. I gave four stars because even though they suggest that one can use it for underarms, I have found it hurting even after taking a painkiller.

Awesome Product!
Although this is not for the feint of heart, it does an amazing job. As someone with quite sensitive skin, I have had reactions to waxing, razors are a nightmare and to top it off having course dark hair I am always trying out a product to see if it might help and I think I have found my miracle product with this one!

I wont lie it does hurt when trying it out but I found after a while and once you get the hang of how to use it, it was not all that bad. It does a great job in getting even the shortest of hairs and afterwards it was red, but using a product such as tend skin or any product designed to prevent razor burn it helped a great deal and after a few hours my skin was not red at all.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective hair removal system. It really works and I wont be going back to razors ever again!

Yes, the first time you use it, you may feel some discomfort, but walk it off!!!In the end, you will be glad you did!!!When used regularly, there is minimal discomfort for maximum results.I use regularly on my bikini line and on my underarms and can report that the results are smooth and fabulous!I think it works well on legs also, but I am too impatient to use regularly here.In my opinion, this is a godsend for bikini line and underarms!

I like it lots and lots
Let me start by saying that I am fair complected with light hair.I have a LOW tolerence for pain!!I really like this product(after 5 years of using Nad's "wax").The best thing that I have found so far is that I don't have to take a bath after each session.Don't get me wrong, I love baths, but it is difficult with 2 small children, to find the time to wax and then to bathe:)I agree that it does take some creative movement to get all the hair around the knees and ankles, but that is the same with any removal product.I really like using it on the armpit area, and after the second time the pain is not a factor.That brings me to the second think that I like about this product... if it hurts, stop for a bit and come back. The bikini area is a bit dicey, and I think it will be easier with hubby's help to pull the skin taut.I would not recommend starting out with long hair, about a day or 2 growth seems to be the best, so for the first use, shave, wait a day or 2 depending on your hair growth, then go for it.I have found that three days in a row of use gets me smooth for about a two week period, then the little persistant hairs start again.That is about the time I had with Nad's.The new thing here is that I can do it over and be done without waiting for them to grow for another two weeks to get long enough to wax.All in all I am impressed and like the product for the value.I might try a step up next time, or a flat head to see if it makes a difference, but I won't go back to waxing or shaving for the long haul.I am already planning how to introduce epilating to my daughter when she is old enough to do it in the hopes that she will never have to shave because the truth is that my hair is finer and more sparse than before waxing and epilating.

Gorilla legs begone!
I first tried this product about 7 years ago after seeing it in an airline magazine (you know, one of those things on every plane in the pocket on the seat in front of your cramped-up legs). I have always had coarse, dark hair on my legs, thanks to my dad's genetic contribution to my body, and in summer had to shave nearly every day--literally a pain, as I'm of little use with a razor. I ordered my first, wore it out after 4 years, am now wearing out a second! and will certainly buy another one. What I am finding wears out is the power adaptor. It is a good idea to follow the recommendations that come with the product about exfoliation and how to hold the skin, etc. (I find a fine-grade foot file works better than a loofah for exfoliation, by the way). How about redesigning the power system
Great trimmer with a rather unique feel and design. I am 57, a red head gone white with lots of fine hair. The vacuum is acceptable if you empty it frequently. The adjustable length setting is anice feature.
Now this thing needs to have some healthy battery power and life, come on now, pitifully weak batteries with a short charge, 14 hour charging time and won't work while plugged in the wall. You best plan ahead for a trim. Not at all convenient. I'd rather have a corded version, more flexibility.Pssst....Norelco...think Lithium Ion or Nickel Metal Hydride for pity's sake.

The "accu-vac" is not so "accu"
I'm not sure what kind of facial hair the men have who claim a 90% vacuum rate.I'd guess about half of my hair makes it into the vacuum tray.The only problem is that it's no less annoying to clean 50% of my beard hair out of the sink and surrounding areas than it was to clean 100% of it.

Don't expect much in the way of vacuuming from this product.

They should rename this product--Accu YES, Vac NO.
The shaver works fine.A nice even shave, though I would prefer more settings in the shorter range.However, this thing really disappoints in the vacuuming function.It claims to suck up all the cut hairs, but my sink is always full of hair. As far as my unit goes, it catches about 1/2 of the hairs, creating a little mess every time I shave.

GARBAGE
This is probably the worst product I ever bought in my life, and I am 67 years old.The apparatus for changing the comb extension broke before I got to use the shaver.Save your money, this is truly garbage.

best beard trim yet
I came to amazon to review my new trimmer and amazon is confusing me with two identical (seemingly) trimmers listed seperately, similar listing, not identical, price close but not identical.Any explanation for that would be interesting.Now to the trimmer.It arrived yesterday. Read the instructions and charged it up.Last night I trimmed my beard for the first time and it was a pleasureable experience.I like to keep my beard really short and I was pleased that the settings allow fine adjustment, I did not have to use the shortest setting, "1" which is called the stubble look.I started with 4 and worked down to 2.My beard looks better than it has in years.THe motor is powerful, you can feel the vacuum working and it collected an impressive amount of hair, altho not all of it.Besides my primary job I'm also a model for art classes and I intend to use the trimmer to keep body hair from getting out of hand, it should be perfect for keeping it short without that awful shaved body look which is not what I want to present when modeling. ... Worked great for 30 mins.
I bought one and used it twice in six weeks to trim my beard. Two weeks later I tried to use it and it was dead and would not charge. Seller said it had a 30 day warrantee and they were sorry. This is the only trimmer I have ever had that just died for no known reason. Others have lasted for years.

The sellers has my money and says he is sorry. This may be a good price and works well but a product is only as good as the people who stand behind it. They think so little of their product to fear standing behind it I would not buy from them at any price. Amazon is a good company and has always tried to help with problems but this seller and this trimmer does not live up to their high standard. As they said they are sorry.

Still waiting - a note on shipping - not a product review
Can't really review this thing, because I'm still waiting for it from Amazon. I ordered it on February 21, and just got a note from them saying it will be delayed, with an estimated delivery by May 20..That would be 3 months!

So...don't believe the shipping estimate. It doesn't ship within 1-2 weeks. Maybe more like 1-2 months. Yes, I'm looking forward to using this. But by May 20, I'll look like I'm in ZZ Top.

Buy this thing somewhere else.

Solid product
I've had this beard trimmer for about 4 years now, and I've been quite happy with it.Previously I had a crappy Wahl one that died after only a year and was cheaply made.The Panasonic one is easy to use, stays sharp, and is convenient.

The only downside to this trimmer is that it is cordless-only, so that you cannot run it when plugged in (though that would be awkward in any case given the design, with the pop-out plug in the base).The battery no longer holds a charge well (after 4 years, 2x per week), and so it needs to be replaced.There is no way to replace the battery separately, though given the cost of batteries relative to the cost of the trimmer I'm not sure that's a big deal.

I would recommend this highly as an inexpesive trimmer.I'm replacing it with the Panasonic 203 model, which has corded operation (so I'm hoping I can continue using it after the battery is really weak) and is dual-voltage, which is occasionally convenient.

simple, uncluttered and effective
I am new to electric shaving. This is my first full beard. I read all the reviews for this and competing products and the ER389K sounded the best for the most customers. I received it in a few days from Amazon and love it. It is simple, easy to use. It has no wires, keeps my bathroom uncluttered. It does the job and at reasonable price.
