There is no question that in the category of "wand massagers", the Hitachi Wand Massager is the most famous, by far the most intense of all the wand style vibrators and the most expensive. Why do I say that in a review of the Dr. Scholl's rechargeable wand massager? The Hitachi is just too much power for some people and some uses. The Dr. Scholl's wand vibrator, however, not only can do a great job without any old cord, but it's 2 settings provide relaxing massage/vibrating without making you numb. The "high" setting on Dr. Scholl's is a notch less intense than the "low" setting on the Hitachi. But that isn't necessarily a negative. Depending on the use it is "just right". With both units you actually have 4 very different settings instead of 2. For some individual's vibrating uses the Hitachi is too much power, but for others it is WOW, AWESOME! For some individual's the Dr. Scholl's just isn't enough power, but for others it is Oooooooooo, just right.The +'s of the Dr. Scholl's unit are: 1- more relaxing and not too intense, 2- able to operate "cordless", 3- less costly than the Hitachi.

When it comes to stress and pain I have been overcoming quite a bout with these conditions for the last three years in my body. I have bought all kinds of creams and tried different methods of helping myself reduce the pain with different kinds of massagers.
Upon buying Dr. Scholl's Body Massager from the first day that I cut it on my body was never the same. I felt like I had a long arm with a great big wide had with soft fingers just extend the comfort of the massage to the right spot especially in my lower back and neck area..
I have never desired to lay back on a massager and just let it massage my neck, but I have to give it to Dr. Scholl's this product was comfortable enough to even lay my neck upon it and just relax while the massager did the rest.
Please don't laugh at what I'm about to say.For three years I have religiously used my massager daily. I even have gone to sleep with it on because I like the comfort that it has brought to my body. Happy Massage Addict
I am a self-confessed massage hog.Having tried out a few of these chairs in [a local store] and other stores, I knew I wanted one, but the price tags!This chair is not the most advanced available - the massage discs have 3 stationary and 4 moving modes (there are others with more), and there are no vibration functions.The newer models also has the discs on curved tracks that conform better to your back and neck.But those chairs cost over $2,000.You can get a lot of professional massages for that kind of money.
This is a great deal at the price, and there was no sign of it having been previously used.In fact, the plastic wrap on the delivery carton was so dusty I suspect it was stashed in a warehouse since birth.Now I go home to a deep, soothing massage every night in front of the TV, and my significant other can give his hands a well deserved rest.(I still need him around for shoulder rubs, which the chair can't really manage, so I'm keeping him for now).After a week, I already feel less knots and tension in my back.
Now I am working on training the chair to make hot chocolate and run a bath as well.

I tried it out while visiting her, and once I sat down, didn't want to get up!The massage feature is wonderful.I have one of those vibrating chair-pads, and I tell you, this chair is 100% better than one of those chair-pad things.It gives you what feels like a real massage.It kneads your back, which feels so much better than the type that just vibrates.

I was skeptical but...
I saw a chair virtually identical to this at a store in the mall for about a grand.When I sat in that one, I was very impressed with the way it worked the back.So, I thought at the price this was offered I couldn't resist.It arrived as advertised, and though it had been re-packed..I couldn't find any evidence that the chair had been "used" or re-ferbished.At about half the price, I think this is not only a great bargain, but after 3 months use, I wouldn't part with the chair.It is really great!

Misleading
Despite my best efforts I was unable to have any kind of meaningful interaction with this Interactive Chair, which I found very disappointing. Luckily for me, however, I soon discovered its secondary function as a masseuse, and before I knew it my previous sadness was vibrated away! Buy it for a rub and you'll be pleased, but if you're looking for interactivity there are other chairs and footstools more suited to your needs.

Nice.. but not a massage
I LOVE massages... this doesn't massage.. it vibrates.. I am not saying it doesn't feel nice.. but it doesn't do much to get rid of the tight tense muscles.. so depending on what you are looking for... if you just want something that will make your 15 minutes of sitting feel nicer.. this will work.. otherwise.. save your money.

Its okay, heat is fair. The six pads, vibrate, not exactly massage. It has warnings, to use only for 15 minutes at a time. Many people tried it at a holiday dinner, its fun to try. I will use it, because I am too lazy to repack it and return it. I would prefer if it massaged better.

Broke after 4 months, just a vibrator
I guess I expected kneading action or something, but it's really just 10 small vibrators that offer a tingling vibration, so it's relaxing but not necessarily what a sore back needs.I've sat in massagers that have rolling bars or elements that actually knead, or push at, your muscles and this does not come close.
Still, it did feel nice to have it in the car seat and on the way home it did help after a hard day of sitting at a computer.
My favorite setting was Mix All, which did all the patterns, zig zag, up and down, pulsating, etc.
Then of course it broke after four months - first the LCD control became only partly readable and then it just stopped responding -no vibration at all...

This massager is pretty sweet.The other reviewers have done a good job describing it so I'll try to mention the features not covered already.

The LCD control is clear and easy to use.It displays all 10 vibrating nodes and what they are doing depending on what massage mode you are in.You have the option of turning off one or more of the massage areas (5 sets of 2 nodes) so you can focus on particular parts of your back or legs if you want to.With the nine massage patterns, three intensities, and three speeds, this massager has just about every option you could want.

There is an automatic shutoff timer (which defaults to 10 minutes) that you can set in 10 minute increments up to one hour.

The massager has straps on the back for holding it onto a chair or car seat.

I have three, mostly minor, complaints with this massager.1)The heat seems to be concentrated in the middle back area rather than all over the seat and back.2)The material, though smooth and nice looking, smells kind of strange (like rubber or tar maybe?).Not that you are going to have your face on it, but I did notice that my hand smelled after touching the material, and that my shirt smelled after sitting on the massager for a while.3)The power plug has a large transformer brick on it, which can make it difficult to plug into an outlet (I should point out that a cigarette lighter adapter for a car is also included).

Overall, this massager works well, is a good deal for the price, and I recommend it.

This product was purchased as a gift for my wife, both she and I enjoy the product very much.The Massager provides several different settings to give excellent relief to various back muscles.This massager is very well constructed and well engineered to last for a long time.The manufacturer did an excellent job.If you are having any type of muscle back problems this product will definitely provide relief.My wife enjoys the fact that it provides several different intensity settings and multiple area settings to target just the areas of the back which are troubling oneself.

Homedics makes an assload of massagers. The Back Expert 2000 is (as of this writing) the flagship of their back massage pad fleet.

This thing has TEN massagers and a heat option. The LCD control panel shows you each of the different massage options and what they do.

One thing to note is that there is no such thing as a 'massage' pad. Each of the 10 motors simply vibrates. There is no kneading action whatsoever. There is no manufacturer in the world that makes a 'kneading pad' so don't be disappointed when this arrives. Just Vibration, not "massage".
I bought this from my gold box, based on the really positive review on the list. When I got it, I was not very impressed. It basically only vibrates at certain points, and the constant vibration makes me itchy! It is almost impossible to use all of the massage points at the same time. (Like getting the neck and lower back is difficult, because you are in a sitting position.)
It has a remote that is nice, but overall it really isn't anything like a massage. I would not reccomend getting it. Getting a REAL massage is a much better way to spend your money!

Defective on arrival
Oh well.Mostly very positive reviews induced me to buy this, and a working one might be fine.But mine arrived with 5 of the 6 preprogrammed functions not working.So, the product takes a hit in this review for poor quality.

Finally, a comfortable ride in the car
I have had R.A. and lower-back pain for many years and sitting in a car was torturous, until, I purchased this item. I now am able to take longer rides with my friends and family with a smile on my face again.Thanks for a great product and truly a great gift in the literal and figureral sense.

Good Massage at Any Time
This has been a welcome addition at my house.The massager works better than I expected and although not a deep tissue massage, it does relax and rejuvenate.There are different speeds to select, different actions and heat.Being over 6'2" I do not get the effect on the neck while seated at home.I prefer the Massager while seated upright, yet, it does feel good and adds energy or relaxation when I need it.

This product works for me for my upper back problems.I do not know how it would work for someone with lower back pain.

For those on a limited budget or with too little space for a deep tissue massage chair that goes for over $1,000, this product may be the answer for your needs when your back hurts or when you simply wish to relax.

GREAT PRODUCT!
I bought this item because I constantly have back and muscle aches from various home chores and I find that it is a welcome relief to relax and massage after a hard day of work!or also after (or during!) spending hours on the computer! (Specifically the center muscles in my back and lower back region.)Great for Moms who are constantly liftingchildren (or heavy items) all day long too! (like me!) Also great as a stress reliever/relaxer! The fact that it has SO many choices for speed, location of massage, heat, etc. makes this product perfect for everyone since each person will prefer a CUSTOM setting just for themselves!I prefer trying different settings every few minutes, and sometimes heat and sometimes not.I feel that the stongest pulsating action near the upper back is great for me at any/all speeds and strengths, but some people may want the settings lower for their own preferences.But that's the beauty in this product....the low strengths/speeds are very mild and vice versa for the high settings!Just great! The positioning problems others speak of in the other reviews on this product are baffling to me (especially the guy who can't adjust his car seat?) because all you have to do it move either yourself or the product into position to line up precisely where you want it and it is marvelous!In fact according to WHERE you have your particular soreness is precisely where you would want it on a particular day!Nice to be able to move it where you want each time, yes? I do agree that the only drawback is that the massage near the neck is hard to get close enough (like all the other areas) and it is too loud near my ears so I usually turn that section off because I find it to be distracting to my relaxation.
