did you know that Oregon was real high-tech?Neither did I.But apparently there is some book out there about how to name your schlock company.You take the place the company is located, then add the word scientific.Never mind that your products have obvious design and performance flaws and should never have left the "laboratory."Just add the word scientific and hope that you will net the cheapskate pseudofitness crowd - you know, the kind of people who are too negligent to care if their pedometer is wildly inaccurate and actually hope that the pedometer is reading high... way high.

this product works beautifully
You know when you are on a treadmill or bike that has a pulse sensor?You have to grab onto the sensors the whole time to monitor your pulse rate.I had this on while I was on the Polar treadmill at my gym and while wiping my forehead I realized that I did not lose the heartrate when I took my hands from the handles.It turns out that the treadmill picks up the signal from the transmitter you wear around your chest and accurately displays the results on the screen.It was like freedom. I could run in a normal fashion, not holding onto those bars. I also didn't need to wear the watch while on the treadmill, which was nice while in the gym.It works very well outside as well using the alarm to keep your target heartrate in check.The only problem I had was that the battery it came with died after 2 months and wasn't that easy to change.I think it may have been on a shelf for a year or more.

Works well but strap is too big
I used to have a Polar heart monitor but lost the watch.I decided to go with this model because it's less expensive. I have an average women's size body and the adjustable strap that goes around your chest is too big for me.Since the smallest that the strap adjusts to is too big, I have it adjusted with a bunch of the strap material flopping around on my back (I didn't have this problem with Polar).It's annoying and will require a sewing experiment some time soon. Very disappointing
I bought the Duro-Med 7921LCST-BG because of a back injury--I need good back support in order to sit somewhat comfortably.

This product is very disappointing.The material with which it is filled is of such a low density that it gives practically no support at all.

If you need firm back support, I would look elsewhere (I don't know of a good source yet).If you don't need such support, then I don't know why you'd have any interest in this product--but I suppose there could be valid reasons that I can't imagine. ... Read more

Mabis 15-736-00 digital thermometer fails
I have purchased two of these.The first one died at third attempt to use. The second one gave very inaccurate readings on its second use.

Good, but not 10/20 seconds...
It starts beeping after about 20 seconds (under arm), but if you keep it there for another minute, the temperature reading goes up by another 0.7-0.8 degree, which is pretty significant. A very good product otherwise. Would be 5 stars if not for 20-second claim.

Easy Monitoring
I found the product to be simple to use and easy to carry around - the case kept it well protected in my cavernous purse! I am a heavy woman and have trouble with standard issue BP cuffs because of my arm size. This device was comfortable to use. I was monitoring twice daily for two weeks to get a handle on the effect of a new medication. We also compared the device readings to the Dr office readings - almost perfect match every time we tested. I have confidence in the readings and am far more likely to monitor because it is so simple and easy to use.

Inexpensive and simple....but
not that accurate. I think this is a great idea, and I bought one to have around the house. However, when I cross-checked it with my office cuffs, I found it's quite variable and therefore a risky venture for someone who really needs to chart their BPs carefully or monitor the effect of their new medications. In addition, accurate results require getting the cuff in the right spot (1/8 inch behind the 'crease' of the wrist) and elevating the wrist to the level of the chest by gently bending the elbow. This maneuver isn't as easy as it might seem, and once the cuff has been inflated once, the local blood vessels become spasmodic for 10 minutes or so, making an accurate 2nd reading impossible for that period of time.In addition, complete flexion of the elbow will yield higher BP numbers in most cases, so the whole approach here is suspect. If you want one of these because you cannot manage a traditional cuff, bring it to your doctor's office and see if the doctor or nurse can help you get it right. ... Read more

Unreliable - do not use if monitoring your BP is essential
... to maintaining your health. I tried this out because the reviews looked good. So when I got it, I put the product together and positioned my arm as recommended. I got a blood pressure of something like 86/63, which is way lower than what it's normally at (around 122/78).

This thing also does your heart rate, and I found it to be off by about 20-30 beats, when using my fingers to feel my pulse for comparison. I experimented with this product several times on myself and on my husband, and the results were never satisfactory. I took my husband's blood pressure, making sure the cuff fit as shown in the picture, and having his arm in the proper position. His BP turned out to be 118/84, according to this product. Ten minutes later I whipped out a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer (the old-fashioned way of getting BP and the equipment with which I was trained), and came up with 138/88. That's just one example of the wacky numbers I got.

Also, if you have a significantly larger arm, you'll need to buy the larger cuff (sold separately).

Don't waste your time on this. I don't think there is such as thing as a reliable for-home-use electronic BP and pulse monitor, at least not what I have found or heard of. Wait until the technology has improved.

Blood Pressure Monitor Limiscope 100-109NP
Excellent product at a very attractive price.
The cuff is longer than most units I have checked out.Usually I would have had to buy a separate "large adult" cuff, but this one is sufficient. I have difficulty hearing with this stethoscope, but my hearing is under par and it may be more that then the scope.My daughter has no problem hearing with it.This might be a point to consider if one is hard of hearing, nevertheless.Perhaps a reason for a digital model.
I note there is currently available Model 04-203-00 for even less price!

Not accurate and Hard to use
I bought this blood pressure monitor because it was simple, cheap and the other reviews were positive.However when I got this product I was very disappointed with it.For one thing to get the cuff in the right position and tight enough is not easy by yourself and even when you get in on correctly the readings vary quite a bit.After struggling with it for a while I gave up and returned it.I had no problem with the quailty of the unit but I was never was able to get a consistant accurate reading.

Very simple to use
If you want a very easy to use, inexpensive, blood pressure monitor, this is for you.It is very easy to assemble and even though it does not inflate automatically, it is very easy to inflate and that's all you have to do, inflate then sit back and wait for your blood pressure and pulse. I had bought a model that uses the stethescope which was almost impossible to do by myself and it cost almost as much as this model.Wish I would have checked Amazon (like I usually do) before making my first purchase.

Great Value
This is a no frill bp monitor.This can actually be a good thing since there really are not too many things that can go wrong with it.For example, it has no electric pump that can break down.The features it does have are adequate.They are auto shut-off and last measurement memory.The readings seems to be accurate and they are also fairly consistent.I won't bet my life on this machine, but observing trends in my bp measurements gives me some indications on the success of my exercise and diet program.Well, so far so good. ...
