You Get What You Pay For
You need rabbit ears to hear a heartbeat. Very painful to put in your ears. Doesn't come with the extra items listed on box. Save your time and money -- choose something else.

You get what you pay for.
It's not a high quality instrument. I needed a steth for my horse first aid kit and didn't want to spend a lot of money so this one fit the bill. It'll do but I couldn't give it more than 3 stars cause it is kind of low quality. The box says "Spare eartips and diaphragm included". There wasn't anything extra in my box.

Cheap and useable.
I have this exact stethoscope, except that it only has the diaphram, not the bell, unfortunately.Any ways, it is a decent steth, especially for the price, and is nice to have around.It's durable, storable, and simple enough so that you don't have to worry about it much.Another unfortunate thing is that stethoscopes are hard to find, so this is one of the few you'd be likely to come across, so I would suggest getting it.The sound is pretty clear; I can hear my heartbeat and breathing nice and clear, though it doesn't amplify the sound, so still sounds like using a tube and funnel, with good quality.I would recommend this stethoscope to anyone with just a few bucks to spend. ... Just right for this family of nurses...
This is a good all-around stethescope for nursing use. It's lightweight, has comfortable earpieces, and the sound is clear and easy to hear. Cheaper scopes are certainly available, but you'll be using this for years -- and this one certainly holds up for years...my sister has been using hers since 1986.

I bought my Littman Classic II on my sister's advice (yep, also a nurse) when I started nursing school clinicals in 1999 -- it was so much lighter than the Sprague I'd been using...and frankly, anything that saved me a little stress during the ordeal of nursing school was well worth it.

When my daughter started nursing school last fall, and complained to me that she was having trouble hearing BPs and lung sounds with the school supplied scopes, I bought this same scope for her. She LOVES it and her fellow students are envious.

My brother will be starting nursing school next year, and I think this will make a marvelous gift for him as well.

Great for the price
This stethoscope is great for the price.Really, the sprauge is essentially several different stethoscopes in one.While the acoustics on this won't compare to a higher quality stethoscope (though I haven't tried one), it certainly sounds better than a basic single diaphram stethoscope (which I also have).This is a very sturdy and well put together stethoscope, and, for about 30 bucks Can., it's very affordable.I recommend this stethoscope to anyone and everyone.Why?I think everyone should have a stethoscope, or, at least, a lot more people should.People become too dependant on blood pressure moniters, especially the electronic ones.I don't think I would ever get an electronic BP moniter.Why?Well, for starters I wasn't looking for one, I was getting a stethoscope.The reason I prefer a stethoscope is because they are much more exciting.I really like listening to my heartbeat, and find no interest in watching a little moniter go 'beep'.No I'm not a doctor or even interested in a medical career.I just like this stethoscope and using it is always cool.Enjoy. ...
