5-0 out of 5 stars Slick
Cartridges are Cartridges. However I have had a few blades that I swear the blade went before the beard. Others being marginal my wife made me use to dull down so she could use them.
These animals just do not dull. Gillette must count on the volume of users because Gillette would starve to death waiting for me to use enough to make production worth while. And I use shaving soap just to mark the area covered as there is already some sort of slick lubricating strip on the cartridge; with out this strip I would not know when to toss the Cartridges out.
There is enough space between blades to allow for easy cleaning. One can almost look forward to shaving.
Even though they seem to last for ever I would not want to be caught at the last minute with out a replacement.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Only One to Buy!
This is the only blade I'm allowed to buy for my husband. He normally has to shave at least twice daily but these blades allow him to go all day without the second shave. They don't tear up his face in the process either, but get it so close that he doesn't have to worry about rushing home to shave again.A truly great product and well worth the price. It's great for ladies too!

4-0 out of 5 stars So close to perfect.
I'm still looking for the perfect razor. The Mach3 Turbo comes close, though. I've been using it daily (or nearly so) since its debut. It works, and it gets the job done. It rarely nicks me, but I do still get skin irritation. Down under my jawline, I still feel scraggly by the end of the day, but it's not too bad.

I know this sounds like a bad review, but it really isn't. I mean, it's tough to get excited about shaving, but at least the Mach3 Turbo has me shaving every day,if you want to shave with a blade, this is the blade for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mowin' the five-o'clock shadow
There was a time when I couldn't stand shaving my face. No matter what type of instrument I used-- single- and double-bladers, Norelco™s, EpiLady™-- after the act I usually found myself annoyed by skin irritation, razor burn, and nicks that took forever to stop bleeding. But when I tried the Mach 3™, which changed the dreaded shaving ritual from a bothersome, dreadful task into... well, a less-bothersome, tolerable task. I got closer and cleaner shaves with fewer strokes than I did with previous depilatory implements, and my face didn't sting quite after the deed had been performed. I also experienced fewer nicks and cuts, helping to keep my styptic pencil bills down. Unfortunately, the max number of shaves I could ever get out of a single Mach 3™ V 1.0 cartridge was six before the dullness set in (partially due to my coarse facial hair) and the lube strip began to poop out.

I was surprised by how well Gillette managed to improve on most of the Mach 3™'s designs with the release of the Mach 3 Turbo™. Now it takes even fewer passes to get them cheeks & chin baby-bottom bare, and I've managed to make the average Turbo cartridge last through eight shaves. And thanks to the apparently-improved lube strip and that little face-stretcher thingy on the bottom part of the tri-blade, my face only feels a light sting in a stiff wind after a shave. Another great surprise: I didn't have to buy a new kit for the Turbo cartridges-- they snap right onto my original Mach 3™ razor handle, no sweat!

Thanks to the Gillette® Mach 3 Turbo™, that semi-weekly shaving ritual I once dreaded has gone from a less-bothersome, tolerable task to... an even-less-bothersome and even-more tolerable task! Boy, if Gillette™ keeps improving on this product, I might one day actually find myself enjoying the act of mowin' the five-o'clock shadow!

in the store. They are either defective or
counterfit.I have notified Amazon and Gillette.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
Mach3 is an enormous improvement over the Sensor, don't get me wrong. It's still not great, though. I always thought that safety razors were supposed to be, well, safe, but I still get nicks and scratches with a Mach3. For best results, shave every other day with it. At that point, you get a nice, close shave with little irritation. It gets a bit painful for everyday use, though.

If you can swing the extra dough, I'd recommend the Mach3 Turbo instead.

5-0 out of 5 stars Head shaving bargin
Another reviewer states that these blades are pretty bad.I DON'T AGREE.I shave my head with Headblade and these things work great!!At a price of $5.99 for 15 blades they are a steal!!If you buy them through any normal retail outlet they will run about $1 per blade or $15-16 for the 15 ct. package. If you shave your head with Headblade don't let this deal pass you by!!Thanks Amazon, you have just saved me over $60 to shave my head for the next year!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Time to upgrade, fella!
I learned how to shave with these things when I was a teenager.I completely forgot how horrible they are until I was recently forced to use them again. They get gunked up between the blades, are very difficult to clean and they nick my flesh mercilessly.I give these razors two stars because they were once considered state of the art. They only deserve one.Ugh!

4-0 out of 5 stars Long Lasting Blades
Obviously if you have a Mach3 Turbo you have to eventually replace the blades. For razor blades they are pretty expensive but worth it because they really seem to last a lot longer than other razor blades I've tried. So far I find the Mach3 Razor Blades the best on the market, and I've tried a lot of different razors.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, Bad, and Ugly
Okay, Moch 3 is good.It is very safe across my face.Howevery you have to put energy in to it for it will cut one side and leave a patch making you look even more ugly!I think it is usless to have three blades for ony one of the three is effective.I gave it a good four because it has done it's job.

2-0 out of 5 stars Like taking a Snow Blower across your face !
First of all I have to say that where the Mach 3 cuts it does a good job, but that {for me} leaves around 30% of my face unshaven. I find all the 3 bladed razors too unwieldy, the heads of the things are as easy to manipulate as a snow blower.

I have gone back to shaving with a cheap double bladed razor, BUT ! I have found a shaving cream {that's not a foam or a gel, it's like Nivea} and I get a great shave using it, the shave is really close and the blades last a lot longer using this stuff.
I used to cut easily too but since I bought "Ultra" shaving cream I haven't cut myself once {in over 6 months} and I never get that red razor rash on my neck anymore.

The odd thing is I have started using the cream on my arms {where I have a problem with psoriasis} and that's gone away for longer than it has done before with any of the usual medicated creams I've used in the last 20 years.

I found Ultra at BODY4REAL on the www, cheap it aint but the 50ml tub lasts me 6 weeks, well worth checking out, gives me the best shave I ever had, even with a real cheap blade.

2-0 out of 5 stars Why do they get dull so fast?
When I bought my first Mach 3, it worked great, and the initial blade lasted for about three weeks. The refills that came with it lasted similarly long.

Then I bought refills, and each blade was dull within a week and a half.

About two years ago, I found a place on the Web that sold cryonically-treated razor cartridges (you can Google for "cryogenically tempered Mach 3 razor").They were slightly more expensive than most Web retailers, but they last at least three times as long... I'm just now running out of them (I think I bought 32, and gave eight to my dad).

Anyway, I only posted this because these cartridges popped up as the top recommendation on my home page.Weird.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great innovation from Gillette; now surpassed by Turbo
The Mach III was a great piece of innovation from Gillette - there are quite a few upgrades here from the last of its double blade releases, the Sensor Excel. The Mach III is the first time I felt like I could shave rather absent-mindedly (it is first thing in the morning, after all) and not endanger my face.

The issue is that the Mach III has been surpassed by the so-called 'Mach III Turbo' product release from Gillette. The naming of that product is unfortunate - 'Turbo' sounds like some marketing affectation, when in fact it honestly provides you with a vastly superior shaving experience.

Despite the rather obscene price point of the Turbo, I'd suggest you skip the 'Mach III' and move up.I'm convinced you can get more shaves out of it and make your money back.Plus, it's just a better shave.

3-0 out of 5 stars They work great but a couple of flaws
These are among the best blades I've seen...on the first use. When new, they give a very nice clean, smooth, and even shave on your face.

After that, it's a MAJOR pain to clean out the whiskers that get caught between the triple blades.I had to spend 10 minutes shaking the razor in both standing and running water to clean it out.Now when you're up in the morning trying to get ready for work, you don't have that kind of time to spare cleaning a razor.

Problem is, if you don't clean it, the quality of your shave significantly decreases trying to use it the next time.

Also, even after cleaning, it doesn't last very long at all.On average, I can only shave 2-3 times with one of the blades before the blue indicator stripe goes white.

Be careful also not to leave the blade on the sink afterward...store it someplace dark, because bright light seems to fade the blue "indicator strip" sooner.

I recommend the Turbo...it seems to be longer lasting, getting an extra shave or two out of it, although the cleaning remains a problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Is it possible to improve upon perfection?
I remember when I used to use disposable razers, and not only would I get cuts and nicks, they would actually hurt, irritate, and annoy. Shaving cream helped to alleviate the problem, but did not eliminate it by any means. Then I got the Mach 3...

The Mach 3 Turbo gave me such a close shave it was amazing, and because of the lubricant and precision of the blades, I didn't need to use shaving cream any more (a great relief because they made my skin ich). Recently I saw the M3Power blades, and decided to give them a go.

Wow. Is it possible to improve upon perfection? I think so. It could just be my imagination, but I think I get even less bleeding with these than the regular Mach 5s (and most of that was because the shave is so close it breaks the skin). The new lubricant used doesn't irritate my skin even slightly (the old one did). And not only that, I think the shave is even closer. Hard to believe I know. I know that I for one am definitely sticking with these new blades. Kind of nice that Gillete made them fit the old razors, don't you think?

5-0 out of 5 stars Stopped using my electric razor
I had been using an electric razor for a while to keep my skin from getting irritated, but occasionally I would use a Mach 3 to get a more "clean" feeling. I thought at first that the M3 Power was just a gimmick, and when I first took it out of the box, I thought so even more (you push a button, and the whole thing vibrates). But somehow, it works! This thing gives an amazingly close shave, and I notice NO irritation. I've stopped using my electric razor and now use the M3 Power pretty much every day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best shaver ever
I don't know if the shave is any closer but it sure is less traumatic and the blades last much longer. The vibrations clean the blades great when you dip it into a sink of water.Very smooth,no catching or pulling.I like. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Much better than just the 'Mach 3', hubby says.
I got this for my husband because he had to shave too frequently and I thought they'd improve upon the Mach3.Well they did! This Turbo brand of Mach 3 is actually much better; his shave lasts longer, the blades last longer, and it leaves a very attractive smooth shave.I choose this one over that Mach3 power vibrating blade because, I don't know, a sharp blade the vibrates is asking for trouble in my opinion.Haha...

He's very happy with it and likes the shave. And speaking about money, if the shave and blades last longer than before, it's a great value!

Highly suggested!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too expensive!
The problem I've encountered is that the Mach 3 Turbo System gets quite expensive. It is suggested by the manufacturer that you change blades when the blue strip is gone. If I follow this guideline, I end up changing blades about ten times a month. At $15 for 8 blades, that comes to almost $20 per month just in blades! For a shave that's smooth but not as close as I would like, that's a bit much.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not All It's Cracked Up To Be
I used my new Mack 3 Turbo for about 6 months and went through a lot of new blades to be fair in my judgement. It does shave very close, but not closer the other 3 bladed razors I have used. After the 6 months of use, I found that it shaved very well until I had to shave over the edge of my jaw and chin where it failed to give a good clean shave right under my jaw-line and chin with the first stroke.I found if I try to shave closer, I got to many nicks.I only got a close shave in those areas after I lathered up again and shave agaist the grain, but at times I did get razor burn doing that. With out question, my old Gillette Sensor Excel with it's two blades did a much better job with only one stroke. The Sensor Excel seems to huge the surface of my face much better, and the Mack 3 Turbo seems not to keep all 3 blade in contact with my skins surface when going over my jaw and chin. All in all, I would have been happy with the Mack 3 Turbo's shave, it's great looks, and I really love the new handle. And most of the time, if I shave slower I got a great shave after lathering up again and shaving against the grain. However, I was not happy at all with the way the blade got dull so very fast, and there not cheap! This is by far the biggest disappointment with the Mach 3 Turbo and the reason I give it only 3 stars. It's also the reason I went back to my Sensor Excel until I got my new Gillette Sensor 3.I think the Sensor 3 shaves just as close at the Mach 3 Turbo and does ever better in the problem areas under the edge of my jaw and chin. The Sensor 3 blades are about $1.00 less per pack and last much longer then the Mach 3 Turbo Blades. And one more good thing, I can use both Sensor Excel Blade and Sensor 3 Blade with both my Sensor Excel and new Sensor 3!I'll keep the new Sensor 3 at home, and keep my old Sensor Excel in my travel bag to use on my many camping and fishing trips, vacation or when ever away from home.I would recommend the Gillette Sensor 3 over the Mack 3 Turbo because of these reasons.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellant Product
Provides a very clean shave, without any irriration. Excellant product, couldnt ask for anything better. As far as a review on price and how another razor provided a near as good shave, I think thats BS. After all, good products cost money, and plus, what do u expect, that every product that ever comes out will be like the next? Competition is better, so stop complaining

3-0 out of 5 stars Swashbuckler ?

Yeah, remember those days, just about, say, four years ago, when the mighty 'Mach 3' Razor came out? Yeah, I remember. What a sensation! What a shave! What a waste of money.

The expensive Mach 3 line has practically surpassed every razor out there in quality shaving and design. But it will never surpass the meaning of the word 'deal'.

And now, just a couple of years back, we were introduced to the Mach 3 TURBO, the special edition of a Mach 3 razor. Hmmm, silver all the way through. Shiny! Very dashing. Wow.....shaves well too, now that the three blades are coated to reduce friction. That's a relief!

The razor has an evil price tag of about $11 canadian, and the razor cartridges go for about $10 for 4, or $19 for 8. I guess the Gillette head honchos needed a new fleet of 'Porsche Boxter' convertibles and a few yachts. Well, if they get us to spend the money on their stuff, then we'll make them look richer than real estate dumbbell Tom Vu and Sly Stallone put together.

I love a good, comfortable, gash free shave. And the Mach 3 is a terrific razor to get this wonderful shave I look forward to every morning. Mind you, the Mach 3 Turbo is just....well, too good of a razor. Kind of like an oversensitive Ferrari sport steering system. It'll get to every corner and turn...with scary precision. So, anti-friction coating or not, it's a serious blade.

Yesterday, I went and bought the less expensive Schick Extreme 3, and even with it's three blades, it gives me a shave nearly as close as the Mach 3. Okay, so that's an A- shave, and not an A+. Still, the 'Extreme' is a terrific razor, cuts the hairs well without leaving me the feeling that I have to be 'so' careful with it, and is a much more reasonable price for both the razor and blade cartridges than the mighty Mach 3.

Sigh. What's this world coming to? All this wasted money spent to find a razor that's a good price and gives you a great shave. Yeah....guess you could say that recently, I went to extremes.

(groan) I know, I was never good at jokes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for sensitive skin.
The Quattro blades, in my opinion, are far superior to the Mach 3 in all respects, except one.The blades remain sharper for probably and extra week over the Mach. They get a closer and less irritating shave. The problem is that they can be more expensive. If you have sensitive skin, it might be worth the extra money to use the Quattro

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Razor ever
For someone who has very sensitive skin, and tried virtually all razor blades from Gillette and Schick, this is the best razor ever. Not only do you get a very close shave, but nicks and cuts are almost completely eliminated by the protective wire and great design. The closest best shave to the Quattro was the Schick FX Diamond, but the Quattro is definitely a better razor. Will never go back to Gillette or any other.Worth every penny, and is also durable, you'll get plenty of shaves out of each cartridge.

4-0 out of 5 stars pricey but the shave is good
I feel that the blades wear out too quickly for something that has four blades in one shaving frame. Plus they are expensive at almost $2 each. Frankly I don't think these are any better than the earlier 3-blade cartridges which were cheaper and I was able to get more use out of them. Basically a ripoff, but you can't even buy the older styles anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars great job as a razor
I have been using Gillete for long time and then one day I tried this Schick Quattro. I found it really good and effective. Its very smooth and comfortable esp for someone like me who somehow enjoy a good dense beard :(. I wish Schick will defintiely reduce its price though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Comfort plus for a razor
I have both the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and the Schick Quattro with four blades. No complaints about either razor. However, I have thick stubble on my face and both work. The main difference is the Gillette does the job but I need to go over my shaving area, several times. The Schick will take the beard off on ONE swing of the blades. The Gillette cuts lighter but the Schick cuts closer. If you need to shave once or twice a day, the Schick is the answer to that problem. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Gillette's MACH3 Turbo Blows It's Engine
Being a very happy Gillette Sensor Excel user from the time it came out, I bought the Gillette MACH3 Turbo after reading all the hyped-up PR ads and watching the very good TV ads. I found that the MACH3 Turbo did fine on the strait-aways, but couldn't handle the tight turns around my chin and under my jaw.I soon found that I had to go very slow in those places to prevent nicks and cuts. Also, I really didn't find the MACH3 to shave any closer then my Gillette Sensor Excel. In fact the Sensor Excel out performs the MACH3 Turbo around my chin and under my jaw.I thought the MACH3 Turbo would be the Razor I would shave with every day at home, and I would keep my old Sensor Excel in my travel shaving kit to use when I was away on my camping and fishing trips or on vacation. But after 3 months of use my new Gillette MACH3 Turbo has been sent to the Bone Yard, and the Gillette Sensor Excel is now back in front line service.I think I'm going to try the new Gillette Sensor 3.At least I'll be able to use both the Sensor3 and the Sensor Excel Blades if the Sensor3 Blades out to be no big deal. However, if the Sensor3 turns out to be as good at the Sensor Excel, but with 3 blades, I'm sure it will be my new front line razor. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Time to upgrade, fella!
I learned how to shave with these things when I was a teenager. I completely forgot how horrible they are until I was recently forced to use them again. They get gunked up between the blades, are very difficult to clean and they nick my flesh mercilessly. I give these razors two stars because they were once considered state of the art. They only deserve one. Ugh!

Are you stuck in the 70s or 80s? It's time to discover a comfortable shave. Try the Gillette M3Power, or anything in the Mach3 line for an vast improvement over Atra.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nothing compared to the Mach III
I have been using the Mach 3 for years now and I got the Schick in the mail as a freebie. I decided to finally try it after I ran out of Mach 3 blades.

I found that it did provide a good close shave the first two times I used it. Then on the subsequent attempts, I could feel it start to pull the hairs. On top of that, I started to get nicks and cuts. I have discontinued use after the fourth shave.

I do not reccommend this razor.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but I'll stick with my Mach III
I've wanted to go with disposables for a while now, since the blades for my Mach III can get expensive at the rate I use razors (I shave my head bald, so I go through more razors than the average guy). I decided to try these based on the great reviews I read here, and these were basically my first real attempt with disposables.

While I can agree with the others who said that these do provide a good shave, and they are comfortable to handle, I did notice one big advantage of my Mach III over these - rinsing the stubbles out of the blades. It seems to me that it's much more difficult to rinse these disposables, and they "clog" up quickly.

While my Mach III rinses almost effortlessly with low water pressure and doesn't really clog up and the hairs just kind of push through, these new Schicks need to be rinsed after almost every swipe and they're difficult to rinse out. I had to also tap them on the edge of the sink pretty hard to unclog them. This quickly becomes a tedious chore, so unfortunately I'm going back to my Mach III for the speed, convenience, and ease. Too bad, I was really hoping these were the ticket.

5-0 out of 5 stars Shave Something
These razors are excellent. They get my face smooth with less irritation then my electric razor used to.Not only do their triple blades make them better then other disposable razors, but their design makes them easier to use then the Mach III.And a pack is cheaper then the Mach III refill blades as well.

My personal preference is the aloe vera coated blades, but any variety is wonderful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Maybe for men, but I love them just the same.
I was introduced to this razor by taking one from my dads pack while at my parents. This was the best disposable razor I have ever used.

I don't recommend using any razor without some kind of shave cream, but these work well with cream, gel, or soap. They left my legs smoother than anything else.Along with an exfoliating shave cream I've never had a smoother shave from any razor. Also, they rinse clean pretty easily and if you are tempted they can be used again with pretty good results.I always go over the area I am shaving twice just to be sure and these razors hold up well through the process.

Unlike some disposables they don't wear out as quickly as others. So you get more area shaved with one razor than two or three of some others.

I couldn't ask for a better razor. Now, I keep them on hand and an extra pack in case someone borrows/steals one of mine.I have a secret pack of these so I am sure to have them on hand whenneed them:) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FINALLY! Something that works on my face!
I have the worst possible combination for shaving: a thick beard and sensitive skin. Ingrown hairs and razor bumps were a weekly, if not daily occurance for me. I started off as a teenager with the original Sensor. When that got too painful I transitioned to the Sensor Excel. That served me well through my college years, where I could get away with shaving every 2 or 3 days. I found that my face needed a day or 2 off before I could shave comfortably again. When I entered the workforce, the president of my company noticed the stubble on my face during my "off" days and insisted that I shave every day. Well, after about a week of daily use with the Excel, my neck was about as raw and sore as it ever had been. That was about the time that Gillette introduced the Mach3. I transitioned to that, and eventually the Mach3 Turbo, but I was STILL getting ingrown hairs and razor bumps.

I did some research and found that my technique (shaving against "the grain" without shaving with the grain first) was causing a great deal of my problems, so I started to change my ways with less than stellar results. The Mach3 was designed to be used "against the grain", and shaving in the direction of my hair growth produced almost no results at all. I couldn't even feel the razor cutting anything as I pulled it down along my face and neck. In addition, the added width of the blades made it nearly impossible to shave the areas underneath my nostrils. I had to keep my old Sensor handy to tackle that area when I was done with the rest of my face. My fiancee suggested spending $20 on the new battery-powered Mach3...no, thank you!

Then I saw the Senor3, and decided to give it a try. The blades were cheaper than the Mach3 (even at Costco Warehouse prices), so it wasn't much of an investment for the experiment. All I have to say is, "THANK GOODNESS!" The Sensor3 has the best of both worlds between the Excel and the Mach3. The blades fit any Sensor handle, which is a more traditional feel than the initially-awkward feel of the Mach3, so I didn't have to invest in a whole new system. It has 3 blades instead of 2, so it's more comfortable that the 2-blade Senors AND I can get to the area under my nose. But the best part is I can shave WITH the grain and get a very acceptable, although not perfect, results. To the outside world I look clean-shaven every day, even though I can feel a tiny bit of stubble. That's a fair trade-off for not being in pain all the time.

I now shave daily with hardly any irritation, and on special occassions when I need my shave to be extra close, I re-lather after the first go around, shave lightly against the grain, and I'm as smooth as a baby's backside. I've also invested in a few other items that have added to my comfort. The "Art of Shaving" products are a godsend. Invest in the Pre-Shave oil, trust me. I also went "retro" and picked up their shaving cream and brush. Guys, your woman will DEFINITELY think it's sexy when she sees you lathering up if you go that route. I think I FINALLY found something that works for me after 15 years of shaving!

5-0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN THE MACH 3
This razor is more accurate, cuts closer and is less irritating than the Mach 3.FINALLY, the original super accurate sensor comes with three blades!I let my little bro try it and he threw out his Mach 3 as did I. BOOYYAAACCAAASHEE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally....
After trying every major brand of electric razors, the Mach 3 turbo, and the Schick Quattro, these new Sensor Blades finally give me what I want:a close shave with minimal irritation.I was never a fan of the Mach 3 design because I could never find the right angle to shave with the odd handle/blade design. These new Sensor blades use the more traditional handle design with a the quality blades you expect from Gillette.I'm getting a good, close shave with very little irritation and ingrowns.

I also use King of Shaves gel. After spending years trying to find the right combitnation of blades and creams, I think I've found what works for me.

Plus, these blades are cheaper than the Mach 3 line. ... Read more
