Happy customer of five years
Before I was introduced to Glide by a dentist over five years ago, I had always been afraid of flossing. It was always next to impossible to get the floss between my rotten teeth, and then, it was even more impossible to actually do anything once the thread was in.

Glide is lightly waxed and shaped perfect for the space between teeth. It's almost effortless to put it in between the teeth and equally effortless to pull it back and forth. I like the original Glide over the newer types (mint, easy plus, etc.), as it works better for me than the others. But all Glide floss products beat any other brand hands down.

If you have been afraid of flossing or struggle with flossing every day, give Glide a try. There's no guarantee it'll work for you, but it's inexpensive and even if you can't use it, someone else you know might be able to. It's definitely make flossing an enjoyable habit out of me.

High quality but not perfect
I've used Glide dental floss about 5 years, and my dentist's office uses it as well.Glide is a bit thicker and wider than other flosses, but due to the lubrication, slides with less friction between the teeth.There's a small controversy on whether more or less friction provides more flossing power, but my dentist believes less friction (i.e. smoother flossing) is better.While the wax on some other flosses is Teflon-based, the wax on Glide is natural bee's wax, so is not technically a vegan product.(I confirmed this with the manufacturer.)Another thing that sets Glide apart from other flosses is the ingenious plastic window that shows you how much floss you have left.This helps avoid those "oops, I pulled out a 2" piece of floss" surprises.The floss rarely gets stuck in the container, but when it does, it's easy to pry open the front of the container to fix this.

I have only 2 complaints:(1) Although I buy the mint floss, it seems rather flavorless.
(2) I had never had Glide fray on me until this last 4 pack, and now it's fraying quite a bit.I called the company to see if they had changed the formula, but they hadn't.Perhaps this was a bad batch.The company offered to replace it for me.Normally I would deduct a star for fraying, but because this is the only time this has happened out of many containers of Glide, and the company has not changed the formula, I'm assuming this is an anomaly.

Why don't more people use Glide?
This Glide I bought two months ago is my first floss ever and I'm really upset that I've waited so long to experience it's brilliance. Within minutes of setting it atop my vanity I was hacking away at years-old hunks of steak and spare ribs.As many people with teeth know, that alone is an achievement.I love the minimal effort it takes to clean between my teeth.No vigourous up and down and side to side stroking, just slide the floss between your teeth to get all the gook out!Also the floss comes in one very long continuous string so you don't have to go about plucking aimlessly with miles of bristles to dislodge that one chunk thats really bothering you.

People tell me you pay more for Glide and get less in actual flossing power. Well, I don't pretend to be dental savvy enough to argue with this, but I counter with Glide's quality of craftmanship and package design. From the overall look of the container down to the supple feel of the floss, and indeed even to the integration of flavoring agents such as mint and cinnamon, and Glide is ahead of the curve. That, coupled with the fact that this sleek container fits in just 2 inches of vanity space (!) is enough reason to purchase it.

Tastes Like an Icky Liquid Cold Medicine I Had to Take!
I use Listerine too. I use it not for bad breath but because at the dentist office they recommended that I use Listerine after I brush and floss my teeth for extra prevention against gum disease like gingivitis and I really didn't like the flavor of this blue Listerine and prefer the orange colored citrus flavor and the amber colored original flavor. I know that the amber colored one is very strong but I got used to it and it doesn't taste as mediciney as the blue Listerine which reminds me of this horrible tasting liquid cold medication I had to take when I had a bad cold so I personally prefer the Citrus flavor and the original flavor! This flavor is just too icky!

I really like this product. I've tried just about every mouthwash on the market -- some of them more than once! I found the Listerine Cool Mint a very refreshing mouthwash. It left my mouth tingly and clean feeling, yet it wasn't too strong. Some mouthwashes I've tried have been so strong that they actually seem to ""burn"" your mouth. I'll continue to use the Listerine Mouthwash and recommend it highly. One other plus -- it's very competitively priced.

It Tickles but Results are Guaranteed
"You may experience a slight tickling/tingling sensation when using Sonicare for the first time. As you become accustomed to brushing with Sonicare this sensitivity will diminish."

If you think brushing your teeth is boring, try the Sonicare 4100 which is like a toothbrush high on caffeine. It also takes a bit to get used to, but after the first use you will more than likely notice a difference in how smooth your teeth feel. After using this for a week, you might even notice your teeth starting to whiten. That was my experience.

I've purchased a number of electric toothbrushes in my life and while this one is a bit much to handle (the speed is super high - 31,000 brush strokes per minute), it definitely does the job. This high speed motion causes a fluid cleaning action which reaches deep between your teeth and also reaches below the gum line.

If you have felt the abrasiveness of other toothbrushes, you will love the "soft" feel of the extra-soft rounded bristles that are definitely more gentle on your gums.

This model includes:

East-Start Brushing Power - All models gently increase the power over the first 12 brushings so you can get used to using this type of brush.

Advance 4100 Series has the Quadpacer - Unique 30-second interval timer gives you signals to move to the next section of your mouth. Sometimes I ignore this, but if I'm in a rush then this is a good feature. You will hear a short beep and a pause in the brushing action. You have 30 seconds to brush each section of your teeth.

Recharge Indicator - If the toothbrush has a low charge, you hear 5 beeps after you brush and this means you have 3 or fewer 2-minute brushings left.

Claims:

Superior plaque removal - yes, this seems true. Your tongue will tell no lies as it slides along your teeth. My tongue says my teeth are much smoother.

Reduces Coffee, tea and tobacco stains - yes, removes tea stains for sure. You might
start to notice this after only one week.

Reverses gingivitis - I have sensitive gums and after a week of using this toothbrush I
noticed less sensitivity. Other toothbrushes seem to be much harsher on the gums.

When you fully charge the toothbrush the charge lasts for 2 weeks of normal brushing so this is also perfect to take on a trip.

I like the results I've seen but had to get used to circulating the bristles myself. With the Oral B toothbrush, you just move the brush along the teeth and with the sonic toothbrush it feels more like natural brushing with a regular toothbrush, except it has super powered vibrating bristles to remove plaque.

There is nothing remotely citrusy about this product. Of all the flavored Listerine washes this one has the least discernible "flavor." You could lick a car tire and taste more citrus.

Super mediciney!

An experiment with flavor
Listerine realizes that making something tastes bad is no longer synonymous with medicine and may even be in bad taste. In their efforts they came up with this one hoping to get on the citrus bandwagon. The reality is this is a good masking product. It works well to mask for people that do not brush well. The FDA would not let it clam anything that it is not. What it is not is a substitute for products like Periodent (prescription mouthwash).

Chew while your teeth get brighter
I've been using baking soda for a very long time, not only for cooking but as a mouth wash, even use it to clean my battery cables. The cleaning power of baking soda works and now with it put into chewing gum I can carry it with me every where. Sonicare is riding the wave of the future
The biggest complaint I hear from people about electric tootbrushes is that the replacement heads are too expensive. Come now, that was the type of thinking that would have killed the Industrial Revolution!

For anyone who really cares about dental hygeine or even just the way they look to other people, you can't not use an electric toothbrush anymore. I laughed at the idea at first, but once I began using one I will never be able to use a regular toothbrush again without feeling like my mouth isn't clean. When you go to the dentist--what type of toothbrush does he/she use on you? Electric--for a reason, because it cleans better.

The marginally higher cost of replacing the heads rather than buying an entirely new disposable toothbrush is insignificant when you actually feel as clean as you can when you use an electric brush. Personal dental care has evolved to the next step, and you don't want to be caught be the last person using a slide ruler because you were too frugal to purchase the more expensive but more effective calculator.

I LOVE this spearmint toothpaste!
I never realized how much I hated toothpaste until I tried Tom's of Maine spearmint toothpaste. I am hooked forever. This stuff rinses out of your mouth. Not like most toothpastes on the market where you have to rinse and spit, rinse and spit and still can't drink orange juice or coffee. With Tom's, you brush, rinse and you can still go to the kitchen in the morning and drink coffee or orange juice without gagging on the combination of leftover toothpaste and citric acid/tannic acid. I don't think I will ever try another toothpaste again!

It works. Um, I'll be honest about the taste. It's not divine, to be sure. It has absolutely no sugar, and makes brushing a bit of a cringe rather than enjoyable. But. I'd rather support Tom's of Maine than any other mainstream toothpaste on the market right now. And, once you get used to the taste, it's fine. Please don't let the not-so-sweet nature of the paste scare you away from the fact that it supports the very sweet, natural nature, and a lot of other good things out there. And it does work.
