Feels like a professional cleaning
I was a Braun electric brush user for about five years when I tried the Sonicare. It was a gift, and I was skeptical. In fact, I had tried a friend's non-Elite Sonicare in the past and did not like it. But this brush is far superior than anything I have ever used before. Even after two brushings, my teeth felt as good as after a professional cleaning. Now, after using this brush for six months, my hygienist tells me my gum measurements are down from 4.5mm to 3mm -- a big improvement! This brush is expensive, but it's definitely worth the money.

The quad timer is a great feature and keeps you brushing for the full two minutes. The one problem with this brush is that it tickles your gums like crazy when you first start using it. It comes with a starter mode to ramp up the brush speed over the first 15 brushings. I still had a slightly hard time starting up with it, though.

Cloddish replacements
Be careful because you will waste time and money ordering replacement heads.You won't be able to tell what kind of toothbrush you have, because Philips doesn't indicate it on the toothbrush, so you have to guess when you reorder.Philips wins on this, but you lose.

Lasts about a year, then croaks.
I bought this EXPENSIVE toothbrush and the wife and I used it for just over a year (past the warranty) and we enjoyed it. I think it did a good job. Then it died...

Well, that must have just been a fluke unit. So I bought another one. After about one year, it died...

What the?

I see that most of the reviews here are glowing. I liken it to those who bought Jaguars before the quality improved and claimed they loved their cars despite how poorly made they were. They were just soooo expensive, who wanted to admit they weren't worth the money?

Sonicare products are junk. Face it, they're only designed to do one thing: brush teeth. They have very little mechanical to them, yet they go bust after roughly one year's use.

I am typing this on a Macintosh computer. It works for years. I drive a Ford Escape. It works for years. I grind coffee beans several times a day with a Krups. It works for years. I have cheap Japanese steak knives that I bought 30 years ago. They still cut meat and haven't come apart in the dishwasher. They still work.

But spend $100 bucks on a toothbrush that lasts just past the warranty? They got me twice. They won't get me again.

Currently using a Braun electric. Does just as good a job for farrrr less money.

Just picked one of these up the other day at Costco. I have been using a Crest Spinbrush for the last two years or so. Recently, Crest stopped shipping replacement heads for their Spinbrush series due to quality concerns. I went looking for a replacement.

All I can say about the Sonicare is that if you haven't tried one, you have no idea how awesome this thing is. It is completeley different than any kind of brushing you have ever done before. I was surprised at first that the instructions say not to scrub or push down any harder than a fingertip grip when brushing....but that's all it takes! Just place it on each tooth 1-2 seconds and you'll feel like you just had your teeth professionaly cleaned.

Yes, you can buy a $1 toothbrush and have clean teeth. But for those that care just a little more about their oral health it is well worth EVERY penny. You won't be disappointed. ... Read more

Once you go Sonicare, you don't go back!
I bit the bullet and bought this toothbrush a couple months ago because my dentist diagnosed me with periodontal disease after he found about 5 cavities, recessed gums, and 32 sites of bleeding along my gumline. Granted, I hadn't had a professional cleaning in over 2 years. I also have crowded teeth due to my wisdom teeth, which make it especially hard to clean in the back of my mouth. I decided to buy the Sonicare as an investment, after paying around $1,000 for all the fillings, cleanings, and root planing & scaling he had to do over the course of 2 months to treat my disease. Well, I think it worked because last week I went for a follow-up and the hygienist said that my teeth looked noticeably cleaner, AND my periodontal pockets had shrunken and the number of bleeding sites had reduced from 32 to 4!I can't attribute all of this to the Sonicare because I'm sure their treatment and my longer brushing sessions due to the Sonicare's timer helped a lot too, but I'm confident that at least part of the improvement was due to the Sonicare's superior cleaning.

I had the original Sonicare a few years ago, but it died on me. I'm glad I upgraded to this new one because it reaches the rear, hard-to-reach areas much easier than the last one, thanks to the slimmer head and angled brush.That's especially important for someone like me whose rear teeth are the most vulnerable to problems. The new model is also lighter, looks sleeker, and has a rubber grip (I love the tactile feel of those). The 7300 has a charge indicator, which frankly I don't feel is a big deal because I always return the brush to its charging unit after use anyway.

Using the Sonicare takes some getting used to for newbies because it may tickle and feel weird, but it has a ramp-up feature that gradually increases the speed during the first few uses. Once you get used to it though, it's nothing. I enjoy the invigorating feeling of it, and my mouth just feels so clean afterwards. The unit has a pacer that makes sure you spend 30 seconds on each of the 4 sections of your mouth, which is good because it forces you to brush correctly. However, it is annoying if you like to brush your tongue like I do, because then you have to turn it on for another few seconds to do that (you get used to it though)-I believe the higher model allows you to customize the timer to allow for additional brush time.The timer can be a little annoying when you're exhausted and just want to brush as fast as possible, but that's just me being lazy-I always feel a surge of guilt when I turn it off prematurely, which may be a good thing because my teeth and gums (and wallet) will probably thank me in the long run for brushing properly.

Another thing that takes getting used to is the amount of foam the brush generates due to its sonic action-I like to keep my mouth slightly open when I'm brushing so I can make sure I'm getting all the areas and am angling the brush correctly (they recommend keeping it at around a 30 degree angle to your tooth surface), so in the beginning I would drool toothpaste foam each time. I'm gotten better though, so there's usually just a little foam dribble now!

Not only does my mouth feel spotless after using the Sonicare, but my teeth have gotten noticeably whiter too-several people have commented on that.

I sometimes buy gadgets and get tired when their novelty wears off, but that hasn't happened with the Sonicare-I have used it virtually daily for the last couple of months and am hooked.I traveled once and left it at home, and I felt so caveman-like sticking that big blunt old-fashioned toothbrush in my mouth during that time.Not to mention that my mouth didn't feel as clean.

I have a set that came with extra heads, a head storage stand, and a deluxe travel case.Each head has a different colored band around the neck, which is great because you can share it with your partner and keep track of which head is whose.The case is a nice touch for traveling-I took mine without the charging base on a 4-day trip recently during which I shared it with a friend (i.e., 4 uses per day) and it lasted the whole trip and then some on a single charge.

Keeping the unit clean can be annoying because the well into which you screw on the head accumulates water which eventually starts to discolor and smell like mold/mildew. In order to minimize this, I take the head off after each use, shake the water out of the well, and allow the unit to air-out while it sits in the charger base-but the smell still happens, albeit more slowly. Therefore, every couple of weeks, I clean the well and my brush head with a bleach solution to disinfect and deodorize everything.I'm curious to see how long this unit lasts, because it seems that many people complain of Sonicares dying after a year.My original one lasted over a year, but I used it very infrequently (never got hooked on it). I hope the new one lasts a while, because it was expensive!

All in all, I highly recommend the Sonicare, especially for people with dental problems. Don't waste your money on the original ("Advanced") model because this one is so much better.

This toothbrush ROCKS!!!
I bought this toothbrush based on the other good reviews and it was worth it!!I can't go into detail in design because for me it doesn't matter.I have owned electric toothbrushes, but they were about 30 bucks or so.I got the 7300 because of the price - much less than the 7500.

It has been a wonderful experience.I have been using it for about 2 months and my dentist is amazed.I had periodontal disease (?)My gums were a wretched horror and the condition is totally reversed.My dentsist wanted to do a scaling and now it is not necessary.

I still don't floss as I should, but my gums are pink, now and the pockets aren't as deep and most have disappeared.I give this product two thumbs up and I will buy another one in the future.

Lightweight and less "buzz" than older models.
I had an older model a while back, and hated the way it buzzed, and sprayed toothpaste all over the place.It was also awkward, and I gave up and went back to a regular toothbrush.But, then I lost dental insurance, and wanted to be able to keep my teeth cleaner between visits, so started shopping Amazon again.It's so great to be able to read reviews.

I'm really happy with this toothbrush.It's light, and the word "elegant" actually comes to mind.The brush head is much smaller than the old dynosaur I had, and it doesn't buzz as much, and doesn't spray toothpaste around much at all.I haven't reached for "old faithful" since I bought this model.

Whitens teeth
I love my Sonicare toothbrush.I does a wonderful job cleaning and makes my teeth appear whiter.It is easy to use and easy to charge.The only complaint I have is that they don't make one in a travel size.

If you don't own one of these, you should.I bought the Advance 4700 for my son and I tried it.OH MY!!!! I'm hooked!The only negative was the brush head and handle was considerably larger than the Elite 7300.I see the price has dropped on the 4300 to around $79. A friend has the 7300 and the ergonomic design of the handle and skinner brush head makes it really much more comfortable.But on the other hand, some people like larger things stuck in their mouth, so it that's the case, go for the $20 savings and get the 4300.All I can say is, I want to go brush my teeth right now.You won't be sorry with either! ... Great Product, Great Performance
I have been using an Oral B brush for a few years now and thought it was time to upgrade. My dental hygenist recommended this one so I decided to try it. My teeth feel a lot cleaner and are noticable whiter after only 1 week's use. The integrated toothpaste is good, but I recommend using your regular toothpaste as well (it goes a little faster than advertised.

Does not feel like top of the line model
I have been using the original Sonicare toothbrush for years. It's a great product, and still going strong, but I decided to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

I like the integrated toothpaste concept. Seems like a very nice feature for travel, kind of all-in one conception. If you are going on a prolonged trip though, be aware, that the charger is not very compact, and it only supports 110-120 Volts, you would need a transformer to use it with 220-240 Volt outlets. Also, this toothbrush uses Nickel Cadmium batteries; which for the year 2005 is unfortunate. These days better battery technologies are available.

The original Sonicare toothbrush felt like a fairly well sealed and tight unit, this new one has large gaps and a feeling that it is about to come apart in your hands.

But now is the most important question. How well does it work? After trying the i8500 myself I must say that it works very well. Better than the original. The longer bristles at the ends clean spaces between the teeth, and elongated shape allow brushing hard to reach places better.

By far the BEST EVER - FUN AND PLEASURE
As the title indicates, it's the best product I ever experimented to brush teeths.
I'ts fast; The eletronic ("ionic") I already had on my previous sonycare (thousands of toothbrushes per second); I see people doing FORCE to brush and Sonicare don't need that. You just touch softly your teeth, the velocity creates micro drops that goes everywhere in your month.
THIS PRODUCT is a big step forward. It's so fun and practic that you don't have to unscrew and/or open a toothpaste, it's just already there.
It's also fantastic tastefull (very good tastes, can't wait for more options).
I never liked brushing my teeths. Did it for higienic needs only. Now I do it before and after food, about 4 to 5 times a day minimum. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!
By the way, I was concerned (and curious) about how many days the small and tiny toothpaste would last. Brushing 5 times a day, I had it work for about 12 to 15 days (one person). Very good result. I taught it would not be more than4or5 days.
And that's because I "push" the paste button two times, not one each time.
THIS PRODUCT IS THE ULTIMATE, BEST EVER TOOTHBRUSH SYSTEM. I have fun and pleasure for first time in my life.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
Well, the title says it all. Its performance is not as good as I expected. I feel like I have to brush many times in order to feel clean. The brush is not as strong as my Oral B one. I am very very disappointed. Sonicare lets me down!!!

Bulky, Expensive refill and brush.Very disappointing. AVOID
Why upgrade to this bulky product? Why contend with hard to find and expensive toothpaste? Why limit your toothpaste choices? Why pay so much?

Listen, just buy better Oral B product which are superior and smaller.

I returned mine to my dentist and got Oral B instead and very impressed with it! You're supposed to replace brush often and Sonicare's replacement are RIP OFF.

Sonicares are unreliable. I owned older model and it died within 2 years or just shy of 2 year warranty. I give them credit for good customer service for sending me replacement. So if your product is unreliable then call to complain and demand a brand new replacment!

Want proof? Reputable 3rd party Cochrane study state that Oral B's rotating brush are better! Not only that the replacement brushes are much cheaper than Sonicare!

Great Machine - First time user of electric toothbrush
I've never owned an electric toothbrush before and was hesitant to spend so much money on a toothbrush. I've been having problems with my gums and I have very, very sensitive teeth and I knew I needed to do MORE to take better care of my teeth and gums. I bought this toothbrush a week ago and I can already feel the difference in how my gums feel and how clean my teeth feel.

My gums are bleeding, but my understanding is that this is normal in the first week or so of using this toothbrush (my gums were bleeding before).

I spend most of my time in undeveloped countries and do not have access to good dental care. I believe this is one of the better ways for me to take the best care of my teeth as is possible and I only wish I would have bought it many years ago.

The only negative I see is that I bought this one in the U.S. (where I'm staying for a few weeks) without paying attention to the voltage when I made the purchase. I don't think I can use this same one outside of 110v countries.

Better buy the Oral-b 7850 DLX!
I used some previous Oral-b electric toothbrushes in the past, and I was always very satisfied with them. The new toothbrush seamed to be a perfect choice, especially for the new features I didn't have before:

1. 3D Excel Brushing Action with 40,000 pulsations and 8,800 oscillations:

My expectation: Much more power and a different 3D brushing should improve cleaning.
My conclusion: Didn't note any difference comparing to the previous ones.

2.Speed Control:

My expectation:Good to clean the tongue and gingival at lower speed.
My conclusion: The control is too bad. You have to press a unique button for a long time to reach the lower velocity, and if you stop the power, for example, to move the brush from one side to another (up to down), and want to resume it again at the lower velocity, you must press the button again until you reach the lower velocity. It sucks. After an initial period I ended using always the standard velocity. Oral-b, you should put another switch where you can select the proper velocity in which the power will work: low, medium or high.

3. Pressure Sensor:

My expectation: Great! I always put too much force to clean my teeth.
My conclusion: Didn't note any difference, even when I tested it, didn't note that pulsations stop when you brush too hard.

4. A 2-minute-total and 30-second-for-each-side Timer:

My expectation: Good to control if you clean more time or less time than appropriate.
My conclusion:not much useful. Many times you should stop the power, and in this case, the timer (it is not a sound, but a vibration instead) goes to zero. Other times you should keep cleaning one side for more than 30 seconds, but when you move to the other side, you lose the control of how much time you should stay in the new side.


5. FlexiSoft brushhead:

My expectation: To be the same as previous ones.
My conclusion: They are the same as previous ones. Very goods.


6. PowerPolisher brushhead:

Sorry. I cannot use it, until I finish my orthodontic treatment.

7. DualAction brushhead:

My expectation: To clean better.
My conclusion:Not useful. The FlexiSoft are better ones.

8. Tongue Freshener:

My expectation: To clean my tongue better. Maybe it has some mint or freshener liquid or something.
My conclusion: No better, not worst, than a regular tongue cleaner.No mint, no freshener liquid, no nothing.

9. Interdental Cleaner:

My expectation: a good rapid substitute for flossing.
My conclusion: KIDDING! Useless. No substitute for flossing AT ALL! A waste of money!


As a final conclusion, the power tooth bush continuous to be good, but the extra accessories and functions are not much useful. As written in the title, I recommend you buy the Oral-b 7850 DLX instead. It is cheaper, and you would not need the extra brushheads (you can buy the PowerPolisher brushhead separately).

Finally, something to get the fuzz off my teeth!
We never considered an electric toothbrush, thinking it would be just another unnecessary gadget cluttering up the house.Then my oral hygienist casually mentioned that her patients with the healthiest gums all seemed to use the Braun toothbrush, and interestingly, "not Sonicare."My gums had been receding at an alarming rate, and the exposed tooth roots were being grooved by aggressive brushing.Yikes.Well, the Braun has been a revelation; the plaque is pretty much gone, and the "fuzz," especially on the sides of the molars, is gone too.So the functioning is 100%.As for the product design, I was afraid the stand wouldn't fit on the narrow ledge of my ceramic sink. Not a problem here; it's skinny, has a non-skid rubber base, and is superbly weighted - it is not tippy at all. The bonus is the blue LED light, which doubles as a night light by the sink.Like most things German and Braun, this thing is thoughtfully designed (e.g., a little rubber stopper prevents the unit from rolling around, should you lay it down on a flat surface) and of top quality, not junky at all like those other units imported from elsewhere.Worth every penny.Note: this package comes with a bunch of other gizmos, most of which qualify as "clutter"; we would just get the basic unit if we had to do it over again.

Excellent, such an improvement over normal toothbrushes.
This toothbrush is great!It works great; it comes with lots of accessories too.It improved the cleanliness of my teeth and the healthiness of my gums so much!It has a timer so you know exactly when to switch areas of your mouth and when to stop brushing.I wish I would have bought this a long time ago!
Oh, and - I bought it from my dentist "at cost" for only $65!!So check with them first.

for first time eletronic tooth brush user
this is my first eletronic toothbrush so i cant really compare to the other brands.
It's loud and the handle gets heavy after awhile.
i think someone mention this already, the whole things feels cheap. there are even glitters on the handle..not what i was looking for.

i had to open my mouth real wide so stop so my mouth and lips wouldnt get numb by the vibration.

i will continue to use it , for one, i dont feel like returning it, for another, it's suppose to be good for my teeth ..right ? ... Read more

Great product - use some common sense
This thing is awesome.I was mortified after the first time I used it.Let me start by saying I have an electic toothbrush and use mouthwash. I used it for the first time while getting ready for bed, I had already brushed my teeth and rinsed with Listerine.The amount of food that fell out from between my teeth when I used this really shocked me. I couldnt believe that there was that much left behind after I THOUGHT my mouth was clean!

If you want a clean feeling in your mouth that you have never felt before, use this product and mix the water 50-50 with mouth wash.

Now to the use...Lets have some common sense.You are squirting water onto your teeth, if you stare into the mirror and have your mouth wide open, water is going to go everywhere.Simply keep your mouth partially closed, open just enough for the water to flow out, and lean over the sink in the same manner you would when spitting toothpaste out.Your teeth AND your bathroom will stay clean this way.If you smile like the Joker and dont lean over the sink, your teeth will still be clean but you will be cleaning your mirror and counter top for the next 5 minutes.

The tub (water container) sits nicely on top of the unit.It is held in place by a rubber gromet which keeps the water from leaking out.I have never had a problem with it falling off or leaking.Here comes the common sense again...Make sure it is on a secure part of your counter, not the edge.Make sure it is seated properly on the base, doesnt take any effort, just look at it.I use this thing daily and have never had a leak or accidentally knocked it off its base.

When you first use it, your gums may bleed a little.My dentist said its no big deal, it just shows that you are cleaning deeper than your gums are used to.Your gums will adjust within 2-3 uses.There is also a pressure adjustment switch and you can build up to full power if you wish.

My teeth have never been as clean as they are now.My breath is fresher.My mouth feels cleaner that it has ever felt.This is a great product.

Another DOA
I read the reviews that clearly indicated that there were at least some models of the WaterPik that had serious quality issues. However, like many others, since WaterPik pretty much has the market cornered, I ordered the WP-72. The very first time I turned it on, there was a low hum and not enough water pressure to overcome gravity. I was unsuccessfully trying to open up the unit when I decided to execute a tried and true troubleshooting technique: I gave the bottom of the unit a couple hard raps with the heal of my hand. Suddenly the motor really started chattering and unit was operational.The next morning I went to use it for the second time, but once again the motor just gave a low hum. Again I hit it, again it started working (but I didn't have the reservoir on yet), so I turned it off, put the reservior on, switched it back on, and...%$*! again! So I leave it on, hit it until it starts, leave it on, put on the reservoir, and use it. I won't bother with a replacement, because I'm guessing it won't help much.I also figure that eventually I'll have to open the sucker up and see if there is anything I can do lubricate it or something to get it to work consistently. Please don't buy a WaterPik. A significant loss in sales is likely the only way the company will get motivated to improve their quality.

A useful product if you're not a fussy person
It can be messy and noisy to be sure, but so far it seems to work well. Between the two basins provided, there is enough water to get through a single cleaning either fast or slow. The Pik-pocket attachments are like gum stimulators and are less messy than the regular jets. Overall, it works as a useful tool for flushing out food particles and fighting gum disease. To keep your sink relatively dry, you need to keep your head down low--which some people may not like--but that seems like an inherent problem with a countertop irrigator. If you are finicky you might want to look at the handheld model for use in the shower--but you might want not to have to go to shower just to clean your teeth either! Bottom line--if you like the idea of being able to flush your gums, and you're not too fussy, it's worth it.

Good Pric Poor Quality
This unit is noisy, vibrates way too much and is extremely messy.I would not recommend this to anyone.

Another case of stopped-working
My dental hygienist recommended using a Waterpik with a very dilute bleach solution to clear up some periodontal problems. It did a great job of doing that, and I stopped using it regularly. Recently I started up again, and after a brief period of use the unit basically failed: it works at the lowest two water pressure settings only--moving the slider to a higher setting results in just a trickle. The unit is about 1 1/2 years old, still under warranty so I may see if I can get it serviced, but what a nuisance. The 2-star rating reflects 4 for performance, 0 for longevity. ... Read more

Tactical toothbrush gr8 4 ppl wth sensitive gums and teeth
My reason for buying the Sonic Complete is because I was experiencing lots of sensitivity with a regular tooth brush, and mySonicare Advanced stopped working after three years. I did a little research and decided to get the Sonic complete based on design and competitive price. I have used this tooth brush for three days now and was compelled to write this review.The s-320 is well designed and superior to my old Sonicare because of the following:
- Criss-crossed brisles cover more surface area than regular brisles.
- Removable built-in brush head storage on charger has drainage holes to prevent mildew.
- Brush head is overmolded with rubber.
- Handle is very light and compact compared to Sonicare Advanced.
- Handle is overmolded with rubber that prevents slippage and is contoured for the hand.
- The color of the unit itself is eye catching.
- The shaft that holds the brush heads acts like a tuining fork.
- Three speeds
- Charger is wall mountable.

The only drawback that I can think of is the battery because it is nickle-cadmium (ni-cad) which charges slow and is prone to "memory effect". What I do now is not leave my toothbrush on the charger on a daily basis, I learned my lesson from the Sonicare that I had previously.
Braun claims that this toothbrush can be used for up to 14 days without a charge, that might sound impressive but Braun is assuming that you brush twice a day for twominutes each brushing. I happen to brush after each meal and I eat allot so I dont think that my toothbrush can last the 14 days without a charge, in addition to that I always brush my tougue so that's another minute or two.
Despite some of the drawbacks that I mentioned this toothbrush impresses me. It's been close to two months since my sonicare broke and before I got the Sonic Complete I have been using an old fashioned manual tooth brush. My gums have been receding because agressive use of the manual tootbrush most of my life, so I was upset to use it again until I found a suitable replacement. My gums were bleeding and my teeth had lots of tartar left behind before I flossed. Now since I have used the sonic complete no trace of tartar has been left for me to floss and my gums aren't bleeding anymore. Another thing that I am impressed with is my coffee and nicotine stains on the top of my molars have almost disappeared, I'm thinking it will take a week for the stains to fully disappear.

Amazing Toothbrush!
When my dental hygenist recommended I get an electric toothbrush, I have to admit I was hesitant. I have always had sensitive gums, and normal brushing would sometimes leave my mouth bruised as it was. I read the product description for this toothbrush, and learned that it doesn't actually spin. This lead me to believe that it would be the most gentle brush I could find. Since I began using it, I haven't been disappointed. The brush features 3 modes, which have been wonderful to have! When my gums are sore, I simply switch modes! I would highly recommend this toothbrush to anyone looking for a great product, especially if you have a sensitive mouth!

Really Clean Teeth
This is a great upgrade from the Oral B 3-D power toothbrush I was using, which I also liked. The sonic version cleans better and I found the brush bristles more flexible, gentle, and easier to position on my teeth than the round style of brush.The unit is easy to keep clean and the brush easy to remove and attach. In any case, when I switched from a manual to power toothbrush several years ago, the manual brush just couldn't clean as well, regardless of how long I spent brushing.

My Teeth Are So White

The Original Sonicare product is the best
Used it for 5 years before the battery gave out. A great product. Upgraded to the Elite and got cavities and damaged gums. Back to the original for me.

What about another charger???
The Sonicare 4300 is easy to use and I think it really does go after more tartar and stains than I could on my own. I question the claim that 80% of stains will be gone in 28 days - I would say more like 40% but that's an individual thing. One problem that has come up is where can I get another charger? My husband and I travel and when we go to separate destinations for any length of time, one gets the charger and the other doesn't. Good luck trying to find a spare charger; I have tried a number of web sites and to my surprise -- no one seems to have thought of this!! Really a pain in the neck for travelers who don't always travel together! Otherwise I have no complaints.

This is a VERY over-rated product.I really don't feel my teeth are any cleaner than using a standard toothbrush, and I may just abandon this thing when the head gives out- I just can't see throwing good money after bad.I liked the Braun electric toothbrush better, and the refills are much cheaper.

Throw that $6 battery brush away-
This toothbrush center has served to replace my $6 crest spinbrush Pro, for which I could never find replacemnt heads for.

This Oral B model can use any of the Oral B power heads.This gives you the option of a smaller, softer, or stiffer bristle option.In addition, your significant other or children can use the same unit with a switch of color coded brush heads.

The overall engineering of the unit is fantastic.It is a space saver which can accomodate the storage of brush and water jet heads.

The feel of clean teeth you shall see.it only took one try for me.The first time I used it I noticed that the brush was quieter than my old spinbrush.In addition, it felt good to lightly massage gums without feeling like I was applying too much pressure.It is difficult to apply much pressure with this brush as it stops when too much pressure is applied.

Go for it spend the money.I saw at my last dentist appointment that my teeth and gums were in healthier condition.I didn't tell him about this secret weapon.I want to see if he asks if I have changed my routine.

Nice engineering
The brush motor is powered by a NiMH battery with "smart" charge circuitry for longest service life. Brushing perfomance is excellent. The kit includes a good introductory selection of brush heads.

The irrigator is relatively quiet and just strong enough on its highest setting, and the rotary sprayhead is effective. Aeration of spray water is nice, and works best without mouthwash added to the tank unless you enjoy a mouthful of foam.

I love this!!!
This is a terrific product.I had an older model Oral B electric toothbrush and dragged my feet complying with my Dentist's Assistant's advice to upgrade to this product.I try to schedule cleanings 3 - 4 times a year.I will now be able to reduce cleanings to 2x a year saving me much $.My teeth felt "just from the dentist" polished smooth after the very first brushing.

I do not agree that the jet spray is too weak.It seems to do the job for me (gums are fairly delicate). Although I do use it on it's highest pressure setting, I don't feel I need more pressure.

A bigger difference than I expected
I've had some gum problems recently that my dentist has been treating, and I decided that I should investigate higher-end toothbrushes like this one.I had been using one of those AA-battery-powered spinbrushes, which I thought was a significant improvement over a typical handheld toothbrush, and I was skeptical about how much of an incremental improvement something like this would be.

I was pleasantly surprised.The vibrating of this toothbrush seems to really get underneath things and take the coating off.You still need to floss -- don't think that this unit is going to replace your flossing regimen -- and for those who aren't already doing it I certainly recommend getting a tongue scraper.Once you see how much gunk you scrape out of your supposedly clean mouth with a tongue scraper it's hard to go to bed without using it!But this thing will get your teeth clean.

Another surprise with this unit was the 30/60/90/120-second alarms.Who'd have thought that that would be important?But now that I'm using this unit, I'm sure I wasn't previously brushing long enough, and I wasn't brushing each quadrant of my mouth the same length of time.Moreover, it's a lot nicer to not constantly have to think about "Have I brushed this part of my mouth long enough?Which parts have I finished now?"It's all just automatic now, and I can think about the cat rubbing against my leg or whatever -- ANYTHING but how long I've been brushing and where!I think the boredom fix alone was worth the price of this unit for me.

I use the irrigator less, perhaps 2 or 3 times a week.I like it -- the spin mode of the irrigator is especially good at throwing bubble-laden water up into the area where the gums meet the teeth.

The unit is conveniently designed and seems well-built.The supply of brushes that comes with the unit is generous, and from what I have seen replacement brushes are not expensive (I read somewhere that the same was not true for Sonicare, but I haven't checked it myself).

All in all, I'm very pleased, and I suspect that anyone having problems with their gums or their teeth would be as well.

FANTASTIC!
At first, I do not believe that this toothbrush will be better than the other electronic toothbrushes in the market. I bought it because of its so many positive reviews on the product. I think why not give it a try.
After using it for about a week, I do really feel the differences. I feel that my teeth are so clean. I also feel brushing is fun for the first time and I can actually increase my total brushing time to 5 minutes. The irrigator system works very well. I understand that other reviews said its power is too weak. But, I think it really is Okay.

Wow
In my opinion, this toothbrush is the best thing since sliced bread.Yes, it is bulky and it takes some time getting used to, BUT it is so worth it.After 3 mins of brushing, your teeth will (literally) shine.And not just that, you'll save a bunch of money on dentist visits (cleaner teeth=less problems).Get it, your smile will thank you.

Great but bulky
My first impression of the toothbrush was how bulky it was.My roommate has a Sonicare and I figured it would be roughly the same size, but it seems bigger.It almost looks a little ridiculous, it has a huge handle and a small brush head.

But once you start brusing your teeth with it you forget about it and just enjoy it.It's simply amazing how clean your teeth feel when you are done brushing with it.

The toothpaste refills are a little pricey and they don't seem to be sold everywhere, but you can always put regular toothpaste on the brushhead if you wish.

Overall I'm happy with the product, but not with the size.

Junk gimmick - Too big, expensive toothpaste...AVOID!
Why upgrade to this bulky product? Why contend with hard to find and expensive toothpaste? Why limit your toothpaste choices? Why pay so much?

Listen, just buy better Oral B product which are superior and smaller.

I returned mine to my dentist and got Oral B instead and very impressed with it!You're supposed to replace brush often and Sonicare's replacement are RIP OFF.

Sonicares are unreliable.I owned older model and it died within 2 years or just shy of 2 year warranty.I give them credit for good customer service for sending me replacement.So if your product is unreliable then call to complain and demand a brane new replacment!

Almost perfect toothbrush
Almost.....because nothing is perfect.And it does have a shut-off feature - it is the third press of the 'on' button.The positions are 'fast', 'slow' and 'off'.The various brushes are great - didn't think I would use more than 1 or 2, but after trying all four, I see their individual benefit.It would be a good idea to get a child used to this as young as possible because it cleans so well in a short time, especially with the choice of different size heads.Well worth the price!

Nice Brush
I've used this toothbrush for 9 months now and it's been wicked good.My teeth feel fresh.The toothbrush hasn't broken or shown signs of wear.The battery still charges well.I find that the heads don't wear down as fast as they say.Overall--satisfied.

Best dentist appointment ever!
I purchased this brush in Feb. and began noticing a difference very quickly after I began using it.My teeth feel cleaner and I love brushing my teeth.I had my first dentist appointment since using the brush about a week ago and it was the best appointment of my life. I used to hate going to the dentist, this was the first time in ages that I haven't had a cavity, and both my hygenist and dentist commented on my "great brushing"!

Super Toothbrush - Great Investment in Your Dental Health
This is definitely a much better toothbrush than the typical $20 unit you may get on sale. Ergonomic design, the relief after brushing, the timer and the autostop feature in case of overpressure on your gums are all very nice. It will cut your dental bills in due course. But most importantly, you LOOK FORWARD to using this brush because it is A TOOTH MASSAGER.

What could have been better? Instead of two speeds, there may have been a user adjustable knob to vary the speed. Of course, such a thing may make the unit less resistant to water. The instruction manual suggests that the unit should not be used in shower, but I dont believe it will suffer any leaks.

perfect teeth!
When I usually go to the dentist, it's the same story: a handful of cavities, sore gums, and a lecture about proper brushing and flossing. Last time I went was 2.5 years ago just because I couldn't bear the thought of more drilling and scraping.

Cleans great!
My dental hygenist suggested this brush to me about a year and a half ago. Used daily along with regular flossing, my gums are quite healthy today and my teeth are whiter too. I like the brush because it's easy to clean (I do it weekly), easy to travel with and my teeth feel cleaner than possible with a manual toothbrush. Plus the beeps ensure that your whole mouth gets brushed for an adequate length of time. The brush shuts off after 2 minutes. However, if you want to brush longer, simply turn the brush on again.

The brush is great. Since the electric motion can better get in between teeth and to some degree, under the gum line, regular use will improve your dental health. You should still floss daily and eat your fruits and veggies for optimal gum health.

Worth Every Penny - Highly Recommended
Like other reviewers here, I recently found out I'd been brushing my teeth too hard and that my gums were receding. The hygienist suggested a Sonicare brush, which is what she used at home. I took her advice, and my teeth have never felt better. It was easy to adjust to the feel of this brush. It's almost impossible to brush too hard, since you really let the brush do the work for you.

I like the battery status meter and the pacing beeps every 30 seconds that remind me not to over-brush. The Sonicare is light and compact and the charger doesn't take up too much room in my crowded bathroom. I recommend the Sonicare very highly to anyone who wants to spend less time in the dentist's chair (and I think that includes just about everyone.)

Great Product!

Awesome
This toothbrush is awesome. I had no problems adjusting to it and I'm not wasting time brushing my teeth with the quadpacer timer. It's very efficient. I was always brushing too hard, causing my gums to receed. But this brush makes it much easier to apply fingertip pressure. The travel case is great too. I can take it with me safely on trips and I don't need the recharger at all. Now my teeth don't feel clean unless I use it! It's more compact than older models too.

I really like it!
I had been using the Oral B battery toothbrush for a year. It is my 40th birthday and I wanted something to treat myself so I bought this tooth brush. It is the same as the Oral B S-320 but without the massage feature, which is not necassary at all and it was only $79.99 which is the best price for a rechargable toothbrush. I have not had my teeth cleaned in two years (oops) and thought of doing so, but it costs $80 so I decided to try this tooth brush as see if it felt like going to get my teeth cleaned. I really believe it feels just as good as getting my teeth cleaned! It is quite strong and you must get used to the strong vibration inside your mouth, but it is very effective. My teeth felt smooth as glass and I really enjoyed using it. I now feel so invested in my teeth and keeping my mouth healthy that I will go get my teeth cleaned. This tooth brush will clean your teeth much better then the battery powered Oral B tooth brushes and so much better then a hand held tooth brush. Bad Design - Battery dies after a couple of years
I am so disappointed in my Sonicare.Once the battery decides not to recharge anymore, there is absolutely NOTHING that you can do!You have to replace the entire unit.I am very, very disappointed.What a SCAM!

BEWARE--YOU HAVE TO BUY ENTIRE NEW UNIT AGAIN in 2 YEARS!
My sonicare failed to turn on just a few days after its 2 year warranty expired.I called their customer service and they said I have to BUY AN ENTIRE NEW UNIT (another $100) again.

They said my experience is quite normal and that the battery will not recharge after ~2-3 years and can't be fixed.

So not only do they get you for a big upfront investment and frequent expensive brush head replacements but the whole thing doesn't last very long.They don't tell you this when you buy it!

Poor quality product and poor durability!!

Sonicare is riding the wave of the future
The biggest complaint I hear from people about electric tootbrushes is that the replacement heads are too expensive. Come now, that was the type of thinking that would have killed the Industrial Revolution!

For anyone who really cares about dental hygeine or even just the way they look to other people, you can't not use an electric toothbrush anymore. I laughed at the idea at first, but once I began using one I will never be able to use a regular toothbrush again without feeling like my mouth isn't clean. When you go to the dentist--what type of toothbrush does he/she use on you? Electric--for a reason, because it cleans better.

The marginally higher cost of replacing the heads rather than buying an entirely new disposable toothbrush is insignificant when you actually feel as clean as you can when you use an electric brush. Personal dental care has evolved to the next step, and you don't want to be caught be the last person using a slide ruler because you were too frugal to purchase the more expensive but more effective calculator.

Your teeth (and anyone who comes in contact with them) will thank you.

Amazon was irresponsible and I never received my sonicare
I waited two weeks to receive my Sonicare ordered through Amazon and I never received it. I'm sure it's a wonderful product but now I will never know (actually I'll order it through drugstore.com so I will know soon enough).Amazon was incredibly unhelpful and I had to chase a package around until finally it got cancelled.Amazon prides itself on its personal recommendations but I'm terribly disappointed with their level of service and advise others not to use them.

Really do clean your teeth!
These Brush-Ups really do freshen your breath, but they are also a great alternative if you don't have access to a toothbrush & toothpaste.Each individual package is very small to fit wherever you need it in case you need a quick brush. It's a life-saver! Especially after a spicy dinner!

An easy and wonderful product...
I really like these brush ups as they are so convenient and they really freshen your breath.I keep a pack of 12 in my car and I have started to carry some in my purse also.They are a wonderful product as there are times when you eat something you don't have a tooth brush and that is too much hassle so you just go and get one of these out and throw it away; so easy!I personally love this product and think it is one of the best things to come around in a long time!Price is also not too bad for the convience you get.

Brush ups are very handy and useful for kids
When I found these in the store awhile ago I picked up a package and tossed a few of the indivudal wrappers in my purse.One day my nine year old and I were at Mc Donald's at the Mall and we each used one.

My son thought it was really great to see the food particles that came off his teeth, but I was impressed with the ease of use and the fact that he liked using these.

I am on my fifth package at this point.The price is a bit high for only twelve, and I wish they contained more.Every day my son gets one in his backpack and he is not embarassed to use at the cafateria.

The texture is not bad on the teeth, it just slides on your finger and swipe away.It even works on dentures.There is a slight mint flavor afterwards, so it is a two in one product basically with leaving a fresh scent in your mouth. ... Read more
