4-0 out of 5 stars Good!
Colgate Total Plus Whitening is a good toothpaste. I have seen only a little difference with any whitening but I do notice that it seems to help protect against tartar buildup and that is the main reason I use this and the taste is pretty decent too! Highly recommended to anyone concerned about tartar buildup! As for any whitening effects you will have to keep using this to notice any change and it will be more of a gradual change and not something that is going to happen instantly. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I LoVE THESETHINGS!
Okay, I know and have heard it a thousand times "don't put them in your ears."

But I love doing it. It feels so awesome and clean and personal.

Now there is one issue to really be careful about, and that is this: I used to surf alot,
and all of a sudden I started to feel like I had water in my ears all the time.

It was so bad that I went to a doctor to check up on it. He told me that I had
scraped away all the protective wax inside my ear canal, and that's why my ears
were getting saturated with water. He advised me to back off on the amount of
times I used the qtips inside my ears. I did, and the condition went away, and
everything returned to normal, which it still is to this day many years later.

The key is that you can't use them in your ears too often, or else you scrape away
the way. I AM NOT ADVISING ANYONE TO STICK THESE IN THEIR EARS!!!
BUT, if you do it, don't do it too much.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product for a zillion years...
There's a reason why these guys have been around for years.Their quality and price have made them the best value there is for cotton swabs. They do the job, however interesting that that may be, and come back for more. They're indispensable if you have a baby or young children, but they grow with you into adulthood as well. There's some things you shouldn't buy the generic and this is one of them. They've been around for years and for good reason - they're great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Gettin' on the 'tip...
Good God-- you know you've hit the bottom of the barrel as an Amazon customer reviewer when you're inspired to write a review for Q-Tips ! In my case, the inspiration struck during my last trip to the can... which was just a short while ago as of this writing, BTW. Yep, I was just sittin' there doin' my... er, thing... when I noticed the blue box of double-tipped cotton swaps peekin' out of the far corner of the medicine cabinet. I stared at the thing for a good ten seconds, all the while thinkin' about what I'd say about the product. After mappin' it all out I got my business over with, washed my hands, and rushed to my word processor to type up the following commentary:

While just about everybody have discovered the earwax removing properties ofQ-Tips (don't forget to observe the "Don't go into the ear canal" rule, please), I've also found them useful for forcing sneezes to help clear out a runny nose & stuffed-up sinuses. And yes, I am aware that I'm likely risking some kind of physical damage by doin' this, which is why I recommend you NOT try it! The last thing I need is to be sued by some yutz who tried to get himself to sneeze with a Q-Tip and hurt himself!

With the assistance of rubbing alcohol, Q-Tips are also pretty good for cleanin' out an "innie" (a rubbing alcohol-covered cotton ball would be a better option if your "innie" is particularly cavernous), removing collected food & dandruff deposits from those hard-to-reach recesses of a computer keyboard, and gettin' those last few specks of crud off the rollers inside a computer mouse. Please note, however, that rubbing alcohol gradually dissolves the stuff that holds the cotton to the swab stick, so you'd better have a decent handful at the ready for those extensive computer peripheral cleanups...

5-0 out of 5 stars A MULTI-PURPOSE LITTLE COTTON SWAB...
If one wants cotton swabs that are made with a hundred percent pure cotton and have more soft cotton at the tip than any other brand, then this is the cotton swab one wants. With five hundred of these little things at one's disposal, they will last for a considerable length of time.

These cotton swabs are ideal for a number of uses. While the most common and popular use consists of sticking it in one's ears and giving the Q-tip a twirl in an attempt to clean them, one should be mindful that they are not designed to enter one's ear canal. In fact , the manufacturer cautions the buyer to only gently swab around the outer surface of the ears, if the swabs are used to clean ears.

Still, there are many other uses. In my household, these cotton swabs are often used for applying eye shadow, as well. I also used it when polishing furniture. If one has furniture that has carving, which is notorious for attracting dust and dirt in tight spots, dipping these handy, dandy little cotton swabs in lemon oil and then applying the soaked swab to those pesky little nooks and crannies, inherent in any carved piece, will remove that otherwise hard to reach dust, dirt, and grime.

Anyway, at this price one should not hesitate to buy these multi-purpose cotton swabs, as they are a good value and guaranteed to give the buyer a lot of bang for one's buck.

5-0 out of 5 stars An audiophile archaelogist's dream
Truly, these q-tips have to be one of the greatest wonders of the 20th century. You just stick it in the ear and dig through, much like the special drilling machines dug their way to make the Chunnelbetween France and England. The tips are soft and the sticks are flexible allowing for extra precision when you can't quite reach for the holy of holies. Expereinced users have been known to derive much pleasure out of these tips and even excavated so much cerumen as that it was able to determine their age by the color graduations. They surely are superior to the arms of your eyeglasses' frame or your trusty old Black & Decker drill. Only trouble is, when your wife will ask you to take out the garbage, set the table or perform one of countless chores that wives want their husbands to do, you won't be able to say "What?!!!?...I can't hear you" anymore. So hide these form the old Missus ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply, the best shaver. Period.
I went from using a cheap, one foil Braun model - the only way I had ever shaved - to the Norelco 7775x.The Braun had to be retired after the foil began rusting and essentially burned my face, caught hairs, etc.Well! I must say that research paid off in my case as I ran across this top-of-the-line Norelco. It's fantastic! While I don't believe the Nivea packs are enough shaving gel for keeping the "gliding" feeling, the 7775x is simply the overall best, closest shaving electric razor out there.I could go on and on about what a difference it is to be able to wet shave, shave in the shower, etc. but it's just so impressive when my boss complimented the closeness of the shave! Highly recommended, the 7775x left my sensitive neck feeling baby smooth and 100% better than my Braun left it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Close and comfortable
I've been using it for a couple of months now. It's as close as a Mach 3 when you shave in the direction of the grain, but much more comfortable. No cuts and almost no skin irritation.I use it withmy regular shaving gel, works great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Norelco's Best-TOP OF THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My name is Michael.I live near Baton Rouge, LA.I'm 42 andI have shaved with Norelco Electric Razors on and off for the last 25 years or so.I also wrote a review on Norelco Spectra Razors.Recently, I received a Norelco Cool Skin for my Birthday.I have never really enjoyed a wet shave until I got this Razor.Guys, you have got to try this Razor.I'm telling you, this is the absolute best Electric Razor Norelco makes. It does exactly what Norelco says it does: It shaves as close as a blade. This is the closest and best shave that I have ever gotten with a Norelco Electric Razor in nearly 25 years of shaving!!!!!I have a heavy, thick, dark beard and unlike with the Spectra, I don't even get a shadow in the afternoon.I own a Spectra 8894XL Top Of The LineNorelco Electric Razor. Spectra 8894XL can't even come close to giving me the shave that I get with the Cool Skin Electric Razor. The Spectra takes me 7 or 8 minutes to shave and it's still not as close as the Cool Skin and I shave with the Cool Skin in half the time. This Electric Razor really is Blade Close. It does have one con and that is the lotion dispensing system. It does not put out much gel while you are shaving. Its best to use some Edge Shaving Gel with this electric razor to really get a close comfortable shave.I would like to say congatulations to Norelco: You Guys have finally made an electric razor that shaves as close as a blade. In a pinch, I will still use my Spectra 8894XL, but in the mean time I'm sticking with my Cool Skin.It leaves yourface feeling smooth and it really gives you asmooth, close, comfortable shave.Like I said, this is the best shaving electric razor Norelco has ever made.[...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product & Great Customer Service
The 7775x is truly cool - it doesn't irritate or burn sensitive skin when used in the shower.I have mixed feelings about the effectiveness of the dispensible lotion, I use shaving cream and get a close and consistent shave. The 21 day adjustment period is true, and my sensitive neck has cleared up since not using a razor. At the time of this writing, the shaver was so new, the repair center didn't have parts, and Norelco completely replaced the one that broke when it fell off the shelf in the shower.I must comment you must use the plastic strap and hang it on something, because dropping the shaver in the tub is a good chance that a repair/replacement will be required.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best ever
This shaver is well worth the money. For the past couple of years I used the top of the line Panasonic wet-dry shaver. It was time for a change and my skin is too sensitive for regular dry shavers so I got norelco 7775x. This thing rocks, no cuts, irritation from the the very first shave. The nivea packs are great idea, if you don't like them you can use your own gel/foam. I used it in as well as out of the shower and it works great every day. I highly recommend this shaver to everyone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Making a dent in the war against tooth decay
This review is about the Oral-B Flexisoft replacement heads. Coupled with the Braun electric toothbrushes, this is one of the most effective aids to oral hygiene ever developed. My introduction to Oral-B goes back over 27 years to a USAF basic training briefing; a dental technician held up an Oral-B toothbrush with medium bristles and said "this is the toothbrush you need if you want to keep your teeth" or some such statement like that. Well, I haven't lost one yet.

The motorized mechanicals of the toothbrush do most of the work while you guide the oscillating round head around and over your pearly whites. While the heads are undeniably pricey when looked at just in dollars and cents, there is value in the fact that the total package actually makes a rather mundane chore a little more fun while actually living up to the claim that it does a better job on your teeth than manual brushing.

Since I've always believed the entire surface area of the toothbrush head was meant to be covered with toothpaste and the size of the head on these is smaller than the average brush, I know I'm using less toothpaste to do the same job. While this is no big deal, the long term economic benefit is plaque under control, healthy gums and a bright smile full of natural teeth; it's kind of hard to deny it works. My dentist has confirmed this on direct examination.

Just be careful what model of these brush heads you are selecting and watch the pricing. Oral-B uses a kind of color code for the bristles, and the ones that have colored bristles in a line with the shaft are the Flexisoft model that seems to equate to medium hardness.

Enjoy life!

5-0 out of 5 stars An easy, safe, effective way to brush
Dentists all over the country are recommending the Oral-B electric toothbrush. There are several reasons. It does the work for you, vibrating thousands of times a second, it lets you clean your teeth without scraping your gums with a toothbrush, which can cause them to recede and bleed, and it reaches between your teeth to catch plaque and germs. This is a wonderful toothbrush, and I recommend it.However, if you want a review of a toothbrush, you'll read the toothbrush page. This is a page for replacement heads.

There's a lot of confusion about replacement heads for Oral B electric toothbrushes on Amazon, and I just want to give you all some facts. There are only three kinds of heads for ALL Oral-B electric toothbrushes.Flexisoft EB17, Extrasoft EB17, and Ortho OD17.I prefer Flexisoft EB17, which is what this item is. (The Extrasoft is a little too soft, and the Ortho is overpriced)

The reason I mention this is that the prices are all over the board for what is the same product. For example, this listing is for three Flexisoft EB17 heads for $19.99 (The EB17-3 just means there are three of them). There are other offers through Amazon partners for this exact same item for $9.99.Make sure you find the best deal, because they're all the exact same product, listed multiple times!

4-0 out of 5 stars Effective and Efficient
These brushes are a very effective way of thoroughly cleaning your teeth and gums. The soft bristles clean your teeth and massage your gums efficiently, and the color bands are a convenient way to color-code heads for multiple users. There's even a spare in case you lose one.

Of course you should still floss before brushing, but the small soft brush and the speed of the rotation makes daily dental hygiene easy and painless.

When I ordered this item, it was shipped by an Amazon partner, who packaged it in a HUGE box, filled with plastic packing material.I could hardly find the small package inside the carton.

High marks for the product, huge waste of packing material and postage for the packaging.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great product, but use gently
i've been a regular flosser and brusher for several years, to the delight of my hygentist (and myself).Recently I bought the oral-b brush replacement 3pack and began adding it to my evening teeth cleaning. After a few weeks I noticed tenderness in some of my gums.I began brushing as usual, omitting the oral b, and the pain subsided.I think maybe I was pressing too hard, as if I were brushing with a manual toothbrush.I like the feeling of the oral b cleaning, but, as in all oral care, be careful not to brush too hard or you'll do damage to get that amazing clean feeling!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the price
[This price] for three heads may seem pricey given what you can pick up three toothbrushes for, but the Braun electric toothbrush is really very effective, so for good dental hygiene it is worth getting.

I like the colour rings provided in these sets, which allow multiple users to make use of a single electric toothbrush handle. The heads go white with use to tell you when they are ready for replacement. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best lotion I have tried so far
When used with one of the Coolskin shavers (I do not see this product being used without them, anyway), this is by far the best option available.

It is the only thing that will avoid skin irritation and reduce cuts. It also leaves a nice feeling that eliminates the need for an after shave gel or anything similar.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Electric Shaver Solution for a Non-irritating Shave!
I just bought the 7735X Norelco electric shaver, and it's the best shaver investment I have made yet.The ability to dispense the lotion directly from the shaver is great, and the closeness of the shave is amazing. The best part is that it does this with little to no irritation unlike my past electric shavers.I highly recommend these lotion cartridges to anyone who has these shavers!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better for people with sensitive skin.
This is better for people with sensitive skin than the HQ171 extra fresh. It feels smoother and doesn't make my razor drag or my face burn like the evil extra fresh lotion does. The lotion packs last pretty long.

For me it is cheaper to buy the lotion packs than buy new gillette mach 3 turbo blades.(this would depend on how much lotion you use)Although I don't get as close a shave I get way less irritation. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Blade shaved for 30 years
Finally!A shaver for sensitive skin with a medium beard. Recharger is cutting edge. The feel of the shaver in my hand is so natural. Noise level is low. Easy to clean. Close shave with circular motions. I tried many electric shavers until I found this one. It actually competes with a blade shave, without the shaving cream, mess, and water wasting of a blade shave. I believe that I have recovered the overall cost of shaving between blade and electric in about a year. Mama never complains about scruffies and it travels well.

Best Wishes

2-0 out of 5 stars I've Had Better Razors...Even From Panasonic
I bought this razor about a month ago (well, I bought one of these Panasonics -- who can tell the difference with all these model numbers) and have been using it regularly. Quite frankly, it's not very good. Certainly not what one would expect from a razor that cost more than $100.

I've used Panasonic razors in the past, and had a wonderful single-head model a couple of years ago that worked well and was "wet/dry" -- so when that unit crapped out I figured I'd spring for the better two-headed model and get a better shave from a name that I could trust. This new razor, however, doesn't work as well as the old one. It takes many more passes to get a close shave, and with all the extra passes there is more irritation to my skin.

I've tried this razor wet, and I've tried it dry. I've tried it with lotion and without. I've tried it with the head set to "soft" and "hard" and in-between. I've tried it standing on my head. No matter how I use it, the shave is inferior to my previous Panasonic, and quite frankly not what I expected from a razor that cost more than $100.

On the upside, the induction charging system is a great improvement over previous models, since it means that there are no exposed charging pins or holes for water to leak in. Cleaning is a snap, and it is very comfortable in the hand. But even these advantages and the abilility to use it wet are not enough to overcome the deficiencies in shave quality. Next time, I'm going with a Norelco, I think.

5-0 out of 5 stars Close as a razor...
I had a Norelco before purchasing this and the Norelco was good but too much skin irritation and it pulled at the hairs on my face, ouch! The wet/dry is awesome, you can use any kind of shaving cream you want with it which makes for a very comfortable shave and not to mention extremely close!!Only other time my skin feels this smooth is when I shave with a razor. Also clean up is a breeze, no special cleaners needed, just some regular hand soap will do.Oh and no pulling at the hairs...Great product!

5-0 out of 5 stars No need to hesitate!
I've used Norelco and Remington electric shavers off and on since high school. Because of their poor performance I've been reluctant to invest over $100 in a Panasonic that may not perform any better. Only because of the strength of the reviews I've found online did I decide to go ahead and make the plunge.

There are three Panasonic models that appear to be identical except for color (8092, 8095 & 8152). I sent an email to Panasonic to confirm this, but have never received a reply. I purchased the 8095 only because Amazon had a special where with the purchase of Panasonic items over $129 they would send a $50 certificate towards future Amazon purchases. This brought the effective price down to just under $100.

For the last few years I've been using the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo with decent results. My face is sensitive and my beard grows in many different directions so shaving with a blade has been slow and painful. I'm always left with nicks, razor bumps and razor burn. There are also always a few little spots where I never get as close of a shave as I would like.

I purposely did not shave this morning since I was expecting the new Panasonic this afternoon. As soon as it arrived I placed it in its charging base. The battery indicator showed a 20% charge. I left it in the charger for about 30 minutes to indicate a full 100% charge.

Like the instructions indicated, I used shaving foam and probably took about 5 minutes to shave my entire face. Hopefully after using the shaver for a while I will be able to shave in 3 minutes or less.

The instructions state that it will take about 30 days for my beard and skin to get used to the new shaver. If my first shave is any indication, after 30 days I will absolutely never consider going back to a blade. I have a shave that is every bit as close as a blade if not even closer. No nicks, no razor bumps and little razor burn. Even after only my very first shave I feel very comfortable in recommending this shaver to anyone that is fed up with using a blade.

5-0 out of 5 stars if only i knew...
If only I knew shaving could be this pleasant, close, and comfortable I would've had this machine alot sooner. I haven't tried any of the other electric shavers on the market, but it'd be hard for me to believe that there could be a better one out there... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Value
This little guy works as well as any electric razor I have ever used. For 11 dollars it's a bargain. I would recommend NiMh rechargeable batteries though for longer life and more power.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for travel, commuting and the office
This is a great little shaver for commuting, to keep in your briefcase, or to leave at the office. It doesn't have the oomph nor the really nice sideburn trimmer that would make it a good choice for daily chopping of a heavy beard. It does have one noticeable flaw: sometimes the battery cover comes off in a suitcase or briefcase, dumping the AA batteries out. Most inconvenient.

But it's certainly worth the price and maybe a good bit more than that just to have a shaver at the office to get a quick trim before going out or before an important meeting.

4-0 out of 5 stars Small and spunky!(What the heck does that mean?)
Please note... I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because -- like any electric shaver I've ever owned -- it misses some hairs. The other reviewer is correct... you might have to use a razor on occasion to get 'em all.If you're familiar with electric shavers, you probably know exactly what we're talking about.

Having said that, I think it does as good a job as any other electric shaver I've owned. And I've spent a lot more than 10 or 11 bucks on those.

Bottom line:I like it and recommend it.

I use it as a travel shaver. It's "spunky" because it's battery powered. My rechargable starts to slow down after a couple of uses and, of course, needs to be charged. This one really has some energy and so far I haven't worn down the batteries.Battery life seems good since I'd be recharging by now with my other shaver.

You might want to carry a couple of extra batteries with you when you're traveling. But consider this... the shaver itself is self-contained.You don't have to carry a recharging cord (you don't need access to an outlet) and it flips around into it's own "case" so there's no case or pouch to carry around. As such, it's a good, very compact Braun shaver (with trimmer) and you sure can't beat the price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Average Shaver at Best
I brought this after using a Norelco Rotary for years, and found this disappointing.I need to use a razor to touch up what this shaver misses, and I have to work at shaving with this razor. It is small and compact and uses standard batteries with little power drain. It is probably best used for a travel razor, but you won't like it as your daily shaver. It will not cut light hairs, and works best on heavy thick beards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Braun shaver
This battery-operated shaver shaves as well as my new Norelco rotary razor that retails for about $100 more. The Braun gives a great, quick shave and is incredibly easy to use.I keep mine in my desk drawer at work and plan on buying another for my travelling shave kit, since it's much smaller and lighter than my regular Norelco razor. My only complaint is that it does not do well with long hairs (e.g., I had difficulty shaving a 3-day beard with it). That being said, for ocassional touch-up or regular use (with 1-day beard growth), it certainly can't be beat at this price -- given that it costs less than just the replacement blades alone for a corded/rechargeable razor. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Great Performance
I have been using an Oral B brush for a few years now and thought it was time to upgrade. My dental hygenist recommended this one so I decided to try it. My teeth feel a lot cleaner and are noticable whiter after only 1 week's use. The integrated toothpaste is good, but I recommend using your regular toothpaste as well (it goes a little faster than advertised.

I recommend this product!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Does not feel like top of the line model
I have been using the original Sonicare toothbrush for years. It's a great product, and still going strong, but I decided to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

I like the integrated toothpaste concept. Seems like a very nice feature for travel, kind of all-in one conception. If you are going on a prolonged trip though, be aware, that the charger is not very compact, and it only supports 110-120 Volts, you would need a transformer to use it with 220-240 Volt outlets. Also, this toothbrush uses Nickel Cadmium batteries; which for the year 2005 is unfortunate. These days better battery technologies are available.

The original Sonicare toothbrush felt like a fairly well sealed and tight unit, this new one has large gaps and a feeling that it is about to come apart in your hands.

But now is the most important question. How well does it work? After trying the i8500 myself I must say that it works very well. Better than the original. The longer bristles at the ends clean spaces between the teeth, and elongated shape allow brushing hard to reach places better.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far the BEST EVER - FUN AND PLEASURE
As the title indicates, it's the best product I ever experimented to brush teeths.
I'ts fast; The eletronic ("ionic") I already had on my previous sonycare (thousands of toothbrushes per second); I see people doing FORCE to brush and Sonicare don't need that. You just touch softly your teeth, the velocity creates micro drops that goes everywhere in your month.
THIS PRODUCT is a big step forward. It's so fun and practic that you don't have to unscrew and/or open a toothpaste, it's just already there.
It's also fantastic tastefull (very good tastes, can't wait for more options).
I never liked brushing my teeths. Did it for higienic needs only. Now I do it before and after food, about 4 to 5 times a day minimum. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!
By the way, I was concerned (and curious) about how many days the small and tiny toothpaste would last. Brushing 5 times a day, I had it work for about 12 to 15 days (one person). Very good result. I taught it would not be more than4or5 days.
And that's because I "push" the paste button two times, not one each time.
THIS PRODUCT IS THE ULTIMATE, BEST EVER TOOTHBRUSH SYSTEM. I have fun and pleasure for first time in my life.
Bill Gates with all his 5 billion dollars can't buy something better for his teeths! This is THE thing!

1-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
Well, the title says it all. Its performance is not as good as I expected. I feel like I have to brush many times in order to feel clean. The brush is not as strong as my Oral B one. I am very very disappointed. Sonicare lets me down!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Bulky, Expensive refill and brush.Very disappointing. AVOID
Why upgrade to this bulky product? Why contend with hard to find and expensive toothpaste? Why limit your toothpaste choices? Why pay so much?

Listen, just buy better Oral B product which are superior and smaller.

I returned mine to my dentist and got Oral B instead and very impressed with it! You're supposed to replace brush often and Sonicare's replacement are RIP OFF.

Sonicares are unreliable. I owned older model and it died within 2 years or just shy of 2 year warranty. I give them credit for good customer service for sending me replacement. So if your product is unreliable then call to complain and demand a brand new replacment!

Want proof? Reputable 3rd party Cochrane study state that Oral B's rotating brush are better! Not only that the replacement brushes are much cheaper than Sonicare!

http://www.oralb.com/cochrane/summary.asp

"An independent research group The Cochrane Collaboration, recently completed the most comprehensive review of power toothbrush
studies ever undertaken.
Rotation-oscillation toothbrushes, like the
ProfessionalCare 7000, reduce plaque and
gingivitis by between 7% and 17% more
than manual toothbrushes.

No other form of power toothbrushes,
including "sonic," proved to be any better
than a manual toothbrush in reducing
plaque and gingivitis.

The evidence also proved that power
toothbrushing is just as safe as manual
brushing.

:(I have sensitive skin. This lotion has a irritating "cold burning" sensation.Yay menthol.I didn't get a close shave and i didn't want to shave with it because it felt like the razor was dragging across my irritated skin.

I was going to return my shaver until I tried the HQ170.

The HQ170 moisturizing shaving lotion is much more comfortable.

This product combines perfect with my Norelco advantega razor.I have very sensitive skin and this gel makes mine very smooth so when I shave it doesn't irritates my face and to be honest, this has been my all time problem. With the Norelco advantage and this gel, my problems are gone.I trully recommend it.

The only down I found on this product is that it doesn't last to much shaves. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST SHAVE EVERPERIOD.....................................
I just received my Norelco 7845XL.I can't believe how close this shaves.THROW AWAY THE BRAUNS AND ANY OTHER FOIL SHAVERS!
I started shaving with a Norelco. The 710RL was my first and it must have lasted for ten years when it finally stopped. Then I heard how much closer the Braun foil shaved. It did!But it was slower to cover all the areas of your face.Well, I've had three within the last five years upgrading each time.My last the 3612 just went haywire and stopped charging.I should of known better. It's made in China.

NOW FOR THE NORELCO QUADRA! THIS IS NOT LIKE MY OLD NORELCO.
I HAVE NEVER HAD A SHAVE THIS CLOSE!!!THIS FAST!!!THIS QUIET!!!PERIOD!!!
THE FLOATING HEADS AND REFLEX ACTION IN COMBINATION WITH THE HOLES AND THE SLOTS WORK.IT GLIDES ALONG YOUR FACE WITH HARDLY PRESSING AGAINST YOUR SKIN.IT RINSES UNDER HOT WATER.THE 7845XL HAS TWO LED LIGHTS ONE THAT BLINKS GREEN WHEN THE CHARGE IS FULL AND ONE THAT LIGHTS UP RED WHEN THE CHARGE IS LOW.THERE ARE THREE OF THESE QUADRAS. THIS ONE IS IN THE MIDDLE.BUT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME RAZOR EXCEPT FOR THE LED FEATURES.MAKE SURE YOUR CHARGE THE FIRST TIME FOR FOUR HOURS. IT HAS A 60 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE AND A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. MADE IN HOLLAND THIS SHAVER EVEN LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE A QUALITY PRODUCT.I BOUGHT MINE FROM DRUGSTORE.COM WITH FREE 3 DAY SHIPPING AND GOT IT IN TWO.

LOOK NO FURTHER THIS IS IT!!!NORELCO, I'M BACK FOR GOOD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Smoooooth
Best cordless shaver I have ever owned. I always bought Remingtons before. You can tell the difference as soon as you pick it up. The Hummer of shavers.

4-0 out of 5 stars good shave; don't like the power switch
The 7825XL, 7845XL, 7865XL and 7885XL models are all basically the same razor, differing only in the way they display battery/chargingstatus (anywhere from 1 LED to a complete tiny LCD display). The shaving peformance is fine for me -- not as close as a wet shave but that's a good thing for me personally because the closeness of wet shaves makes my face break out.Every 3-7 years I buy a new Norelco and they get incrementally better each time.

I'm writing to warn about one feature.Every shaver I'd had up to this one had a physical slider switch to turn it on and off. This models has a push button. This means you can't tell BY TOUCH whether it's on or off. This is critical for me because I usually shave in the car (sitting in traffic) with the stereo blaring and I can't hear the shaver (especially since the newer models are pretty quiet).I turn it on and off a lot as traffic conditions change.

Further, when the battery is low, my previous shavers would just run slower and slower until they came to a gradual stop. This one slows slightly (imperceptably to me, really) and then just "falls off the cliff" and stops cold.So you don't get any warning really that it's about to run out -- if I knew it was running down, then I'd shave a lot faster!

And this is where the tactile power switch feedback is important:if the battery's totally drained, but I'm not done yet, I'll leave it off for a minute and then turn it on for 5-10 seconds of shaving before it dies again. With the push-button power control this is really confusing because you're never really sure what's on and off.It turns out the the power button is like a pulse that gets sent to an internal microcontroller (I'm guessing), so after it's been off for a while the power "position" doesn't matter, it's really off.You just push to reboot the thing.

So, my 7825XL was robbed out of my car last night and I'm buying another one of these, so I guess that's an endorsement. But I'm bumping up to the next higher model with better battery status indication ...

5-0 out of 5 stars replacement heads
I got this product for my brother who has eczema and had trouble with previous razors tearing at his skin.He loves this one![...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, very impressed
I have been hesitant about purchasing an electric shaver, but I finally took the plunge on this one and have been very impressed. The unit is good to hold in your hands, it cuts without plucking, and contours to the face very well. I can shave everyday with little / no irritation (granted this is only day 2) - as opposed to a blade that I can only handle every other day. It cleans easily. You will have to experiment a little bit with direction and motion to make sure you get all the hair on your neck / chin. Take the same time as shaving with a blade, if not less, and provider equivalent shave.

Remington produced the world’s first electric shaver in 1937, and continues to be a leader in shaving technology. Titanium is the company’s latest break-through. When coated with titanium, blades stay sharper longer than stainless steel for an extra close, comfortable shave. Ergonomically designed with no-slip insets, this model features three ultra-flexing round heads that float independently to hug face and neck contours. Moreover, the heads are ultra-thin, which allows the blades to get as close to the skin as possible. A nifty one-inch trimmer pops up to define sideburns, mustaches, and necklines. An added benefit of this razor is that it can be used either with the 5-foot stretch cord or without, and features quick charge. A one-hour quick charge provides 40 minutes of shaving time, while a five-minute charge is enough for one shave. This model features a green light that indicates the shaver is either charging or charged. A red low-battery light indicates approximately five minutes of shaving time remains. Cleaning this razor is a breeze--squeeze the release buttons to flip up the head attachment, then blow, brush, or rinse out any stubble. A cleaning brush is included, along with a zippered, padded carry pouch and protective head guard. The shaver automatically converts to other voltages worldwide, making it great for travel. Remington covers the shaver with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a two-year warranty against defects.--Ann Bieri ... Read more

If it cuts a whisker it is by mistake, its much better at pulling them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Well!
Had mine for at least a year - works well, good battery life. Does not cut thick sideburns, however - mine jammed and had to have it replaced under warranty.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent
I've had this for about a year and it's held up for that long so I guess it's decent.Never had any problems with it but it isn't anything special. It doesn't work well on really thick hair, thatis my only problem with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value
For the current deals on Amazon (I got mine for $30), its an excellent shaver. This is my first electric shaver ever, and I was a little concerned about my skin...however, it was not that bad. The titanium blades are very effective and noise levels are acceptable.
On the con side, I think its not the best at shaving stubble below the chin. Also incessant attempts can cause rashes on your neck.
Overall, I think its a very good buy for such low prices.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible for your skin. Bad judgement on my part.
I bought this razor because i expected remington razors to preform. When i received this product my first experinace was horrid. First time i shaved with it, it left rashes, scratched and injured skin on my neck. I have never had razor burns that bad. My mach 3 is just so much better then this terrible product. I reccommend against buying this product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST RAZOR I EVER HAD
I received the 8595 Braun Activator Model for my birthday and secretly thought that all its printed features were pure hype.
How surprized I was when I actually started shaving with this model.

Informatively, since I am retired it is not necessary for me to shave every day, and since I do not really find it pleasureable to shave, especially with the maintenance, etc., that comes in different forms, I skip many days and shave when only when necessary.

My last shaver was the Panasonic wet/dry rechargeable Shaver, for which I paid close to 250 dollars and found lacking all the hype that went on in advertisisng this shaver. It took forever to complete a shave, but since I had some old Norelco models, I would at times use 2 razors to complete the job.

Now for the 8595 Braun Activator:Following closely the instructions which recommeded that the face be dry and to shave prior to washing,it did away with the Pre-Electric lotions that have increased in price. So, with Shaver in hand I commence shaving and notice that it is the closest shave I have ever had with an electric razor. Now comes the best part: No use running hot water over the shaver head, as in the case of the Panasonic Shaver, I had to use liquid soap in the cleaning when Shaver indicated cleaning, and there was an indicator for recharging. With my 8595 model Braun, when I finish shaving I place the shaver in the station and it automatically does all the rest. When setting up the shaver for first use, there is a cleaning cartridge that is inserted into the station. One just follows the instructions. The cleaning cartridge should last about a month and sells for about 5 dollars each. No other stuff is needed. It is recommeded to shave daily. So when the cartridge is inserted and the station is connected to an ac outlet, you just shave and return the razor into the station and as advertised it automatically does the rest.

The shaver automatically adusts when one uses the sideburn trimmer, etc.

Regarding the cleaning cartridge as mentioned above, if it is used daily it lasts 30 days, if not used daily it should last
approximately 8 weeks.

So here it is:Cleaning and lubrication plus re-charging the battery is all done automatically as advertised.

I am very satisfied with this Razor and now shaving is just as simple as I have always wished it would be.

I highly recommend this shaver. This from an individual that has gone through many a shaver, hoping for the best, but disappointed in actual performance.

Lastly, I would have added a few more stars in addition to the five stars in the rating.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now A True Believer!
I have sensitive skin and have been trying all kinds of shavers over the years looking for a good shave without irritation.I ended up going through a few rotary-based solutions, but found they did not do a good job, took a long time to shave, and ended up irritating my skin.It was depressing. Then I saw the ad for the 8595 and the technology looked impressive.I went for the gold and bought the best.IT WAS WORTH IT!A great shave, quickly and thoroughly with no irritation!I will never go back, from now on its Braun for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great shaver--even at the price
I have used a cheap Remington for a number of years and was getting tired of the irritation and occasional nicks, so I figured it was time to give a new shaver a try.I saw a rave review of this shaver in a Men's magazine, thought the self-cleaning thing was a bit gimmicky, but decided to take the plunge.

All I can say is "Wow"!Of course, going from a $39 razor to a ~$200 razor is probably not a good comparison, but here are my observations:

1. It really doesn't shave as close as my Remington did.Of course, that means that my neck is no longer nicked and beet-red after a shave.I consider this a plus.

2. The self-cleaning thing is not a gimmick. It rocks!I discovered how good it is when I went out of town for a week. The base isn't sealed, so you can't travel with it--no worries though, the shaver comes with a brush, and the cord plugs directly into the shaver as well as into the base.Well, after a couple of days of just using the brush to clean it, I found that the shave just wasn't as comfortable.I don't know if it was oil from my skin building up, or just my imagination; however, once I got home and cycled it through the cleaner, it was as good (and comfortable) as new.Note that the cleaning fluid is a lubricant (supposedly) mixed with denatured alcohol and it works.Popping open the top reveals an immaculate interior, even after having not cleaned it for five shaves.

3. Blue LED's suck. The LED on the base of the shaver could light your entire house. Can you say "Black Sharpie"?

4. The self-cleaning cycle is not something you want to do at night (note that you initiate it manually, so you can control this). It runs the shaver to assist in the cleaning process and is a bit on the noisy side.Especially because it's intermittent. It will be quiet for 5 minutes, then suddenly run the razor for 15 seconds.

5. Battery life isn't really what I expected. At six to seven minutes per shave, it consumes (at least based on the graphic on the LCD panel) about 20% of the battery. Not a show-stopper, more of an observation.

6. NO MORE SHAVING WITH A RAZOR!!One of the annoying "features" of my Remington was if I skipped shaving for a couple of days, my beard would be too long for the Remington to pick up.Because of this, I would have to shave with a razor.Braun addresses this by having a "long hair cutter" (if you will) in the center of the shaving head.It really works!

7. The swivel head thing is pretty cool.It really does work and isn't annoying like I expected it to be.

8. Lifespan of the cleaning cartridge is a bit short.I get between a month and a month-and-a-half out of a cartridge before I have to replace it.Note that the shaver doesn't "use" the fluid up through the cleaning process per se.It is recycled back into the cartridge, along with your whiskers. When it sucks the fluid back up, it is through a filter. This means that the loss of fluid is due to evaporation exclusively, so the whole "Eco" clean thing is a bit hoaky.

Overall I am very pleased with the shaver and have recommended it to a couple of my friends. At $200, it's a bit pricy, but with some of the deals Amazon has been running, it comes down quite a bit.I would consider it a steal at $100 and reasonable at $150.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Shave!
I have very sensitive skin that get horrible razor bumps after shaving.I have tried everything including other dry shavers. While the other dry shavers did not irritate my skin like a blade does they never worked good for my hair.I saw this model and read some reviews so decided to give it a try.It worked great.A nice clean shave and NO irritation!

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, Back To My Braun Syncro 7570
After years of shaving with my Braun Syncro 7570, an amazing razor by all accounts, I was looking forward to trying out the new top of the line Activator.Improvements over the Syncro I was hoping for included the same great shave with even less irritation (the Syncro head gets hot after about 2 min.'s causing some irritation), a cleaning base that didn't give off as much of a smell while cleaning, a more sturdy foil (everyone I know that has a Syncro regularly has a foil chip every couple of months which causes instant shaving irritation which requires going out and buying a new foil/cutter for $25-$30), and fewer irritating blinking lights on the razor while cleaning/charing.

After using the Activator for two straight months I can say that for me, without question, the razor does not shave as close as the Syncro. The Activator is marginally more comfortable, however I think the greater comfort comes from a shave that isn't as close. While I know every beard is different, honestly, I can't believe that only a few other reviewers have had this problem, the difference between the Syncro and Activator is quit noticeable. While the cleaning base station does have less of a smell, there are more blinking lights on the razor that stay on even after cleaning - like a Disney light show - at least with my Syncro I can make the lights go off by removing the charging arm when done cleaning/charging.

Braun is out with a new, sturdier foil/cutter block for the Syncro 7000 series so I'm sticking with it.I haven't tried the new foil yet since my old one is still kicking, but my advice is this:if you think the Activator is the best razor you've ever used, get yourself a Braun Syncro (the last update was the 7680) with one of the new foil/cutter block assemblies and you'll find yourself with an even better shave. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Works great on husband's back.
I can't stand using this thing on my legs because it hurts way too much. But I started using it on my husband's back hair about a year ago. It quickly tears all of his back hair in less than 10 minutes. I can't say that it isn't painless for him. Actually, I kind of enjoy making him squirm. We only need to use it about once a month to keep him completely smooth. Unlike the other reviews, I can't say that his back hair has decreased or become more fine with use, but I can say that it works better than any other device we've tried and us much cleaner than sugars and waxes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Would pay hundred of $$ for this.
This is my third epilator.I can't imagine removing hair any other way.It removes hair better than waxing..with the convenience of shaving.I use it for underarms, legs and bikini line.Yes, the first time is painful, but after that its smooth sailing. The Emjoi can remove very short hairs. If I can see a hair, I can remove it. With waxing, you have to wait until the hairs get long enough, and them you don't get 100% of them.I've been using this device for over a year, and haven't gotten the ingrown hairs that I got my older epilators. The shape is easy to hold and use.Stop shaving, stop waxing..but this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT
This hair remover is great because it removes the hair faster and with less passes over the same area.I remove hair on my legs and arms and this does it faster and neater than the other emjoy units I have.

4-0 out of 5 stars No More Razors
Although my 1st review was basically saying how much it hurt and that after I was finally done removing the hair I was very pleased with the results. That was last night when I wrote it, but this morning is a different story. I'm feeling soreness and its still showing redness. Maybe its because I didn't put anything afterwards to soothe the skin after having hair being pulled out like that.I also wanted to mention that during the hair removal process I was bleeding from the hair being riped out. I could have been holding the machine wrong. Nonetheless which ever way I tried to hold it I still bled until I pulled out all the hairs and then it stop.I still like this product and I'm hoping that with more uses the pain will lessen with each hair removal process.

4-0 out of 5 stars No More Razors
I received this product a few days ago. I used it for the first time tonight. First, I must say that I am not too fond of the shape and design. But I worked with it. The first place I used this Emjoi Optima was on my underarms. IT WAS PAINFUL. On a scale of 1-10 I gave the pain a 20. I had to stop and start over and over again. I didn't even have that much hair because I had shaved just a couple of days before I decided to use this product. Less hair does not necessary mean less pain. For me the pain was just unbearable. It took me1 1/2 hours just to do under both underarms. After I was done with both armpits I was VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND THAT THE PAIN WAS WORTH IT. IT REMOVED ALL THE HAIRS. I will never use a razor on my underarms again. This product is it for me. This was my main focus. Shaving with a razor just didn't remove all the hairs and the more I tried to shave it the more the bumps would appear from shaving. I just hope that by using this product no more bumps will show up and that I will just have smooth soft underarms. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For outer ear cleaning, and many, many other things
Q-Tips have been around for as long as I can remember. They were designed for cleaning the OUTER surfaces of the ear, and are not to be used to clean the ear canal.

*imagines ear drum being punctured during a sneeze while misusing a Q-Tip to clean the ear canal*

Whatever they were designed for, Q-Tips have probably been used in dozens, if not hundreds, of other ways. They are ideal for cleaning any small area. One example: add a few drops of lighter fluid, and you can clean out the tracks of sliding windows. I've tried several other cotton swab brands, but they just don't hold up as well.I had said cleaning any small area, but, of course, I meant any small area EXCEPT the ear canal.

*feels ear canal itching*

*looks around to see if anyone is watching* ... Read more
