5-0 out of 5 stars Great clipper
I was sort of reading mixed reviews on this clipper, so I was nervous about ordering but i'm real glad I did. Some of the poor reviewers were saying that it pulled hair and it hurt and this and that.Well thats a bunch of garbage.I have REALLY thick hair (I'm russian).I didn't have any problem whatsoever with any pain or pulling. It cut very nicely and easily.I only cut my hair once so far so i'll update this after more cuts... but as of now I am VERY satisfied with this clipper!

5-0 out of 5 stars Power
Great Unit! The power alone makes it a steal, the accessories make it wonderful!Wahl has the history, they're quality in terms of power and reliabilty have helped them stay in business against the cheaper producers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Give yourself a crewcut
After much shilly-shallying, I took the plunge and bought this set several months ago -- and for me, at least, it's worked out extremely well.I've been saving a bundle on regular haircuts by cutting my own hair; it's amazingly easy and also saves me time, as it takes just a few minutes to do.Note -- this is important -- that I keep my hair short all around (maybe a tad longer in the front), basically crewcut length, so there's not much art to cutting it.I started out, somewhat nervously, using the #8 black plastic attachment (which leaves hair the longest), but now use the #6.I simply stand in my bathtub (a DRY bathtub, needless to say; you want somewhere for the cut hair to fall that'll be easy to clean up) and clip my hair all around, occasionally looking in a cheap, light suction-cup mirror that I stick to the bathroom wall, but mainly doing it by touch. Now, it's possible that my friends have been lying to me or snickering behind my back, but -- at least to my face -- they all say they think my hair looks great.I have no idea how hard or easy it would be to cut hair if it were long and/or wavy; perhaps that would take more skill than I possess. But for my purposes, this electric clipper has been a great decision and has already paid for itself many times over.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied
Bought to cut my own hair while in school.I have wavey hair, but the clippers work really easily. No pulling.I was careful the first haircut (took me close to 40 minutes), but it turned out really well.Don't hesitate to buy.Take your time trimming. It helps to have a small, handheld mirror and/or someone to make sure you trim the back evenly.

5-0 out of 5 stars This clipper pays for itself
I use this clipper set to trim my husband's very short hair. He used to go to a stylist who charged him $25 a cut.Because his ideal cut is very close all around, he needed to get a new cut every 4 weeks or so, and those fees really add up quickly. We finally cut the cord with the stylist and bought a home clipper set.

The clipper is powerful and does not get too warm. It is easy to use and the included video makes it easy to learn to cut hair. I haven't attempted any of the more complicated cuts, we just use a Number One comb all over my husband's head and clean up the edges without any comb at all. However, we do find all the accessories to be very useful; the brush for cleaning the clippers, the lubricating oil, and the brush for sweeping stray hairs off the neck. Occasionally I use the shears to trim the hair around his ears, too. The kit also has a mirror and a plastic apron, which are helpful to have.

You really could use this kit to get started with all kinds of cuts, and Wahl is a good brand for clippers. If you are looking to get started even just occasionally, this is a great kit to have. With what we've saved in hair styling fees, this kit paid for itself a long time ago. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A real step backward in shaving for Norelco
I sent this to Norelco and asked that it be passed on to the engineering and marketing people who created this product.

I hate this razor!I used to have a 5814XL that finally died.It was one of many Norelco razors that I have had for over 35 years. When I needed to replace the 5814XL, I bought the 8825XL and after using it for 7 months, have come to despise its ability to provide a close shave. Here are my comments on that deficiency as well as others:

1.Even right out of the box, this shaver did not provide as close a shave as the old 5814XL.
2.I suspect that in order to make it easy to clean, the cutting mechanism was modified to emphasize chopping the hairs up very finely. In fact, I observe that the debris is indeed smaller than in the 5814XL.Unfortunately it is so small that it falls out of the holes in the cutter heads thereby making a mess in the bathroom.I think this may have compromised the ability of the 8825XL to shave close.
3.The removal of the AC-DC converter from the shaver body to the cord is a mistake.
4.The cord becomes unwieldy to store especially in the pouch. The converter plug is so heavy, it falls out of any socket that is a bit loose. This is especially a problem when shaving with the cord attached.
5.The cord with its huge plug does not coil well. The presence of the plug prevents the cord from being curled into any sort of small ball.In fact, the stiffness and direction of the exit of the cord from the plug prevents the cord from being even closely wound around the plug. This means that the cord and plug have effectively become twice as large.
6.Presumably the point of removing the AC-DC converter to the plug was to reduce the size of the shaver body. This was probably due to some styling guys wanting a "sexy" shape. The shape is also a problem. The shaver wants to tip over when stored on a shelf on its back.Clearly the engineers noted this and added the two vestigial bumps on the back. That this was an afterthought is clear since the bumps are so small - the result of ensuring that the plastic housing ejected easily from the mold during production.
7.The adjustment wheel does not stay in the N position. There is not enough friction to maintain that setting. It constantly wants to move toward the S position.
8.The desire to have the head on a hinge has also caused problems. The detent that holds the hinge in the shaver body is not big enough.Sometimes when I open the head to clean it, the spring action of the hinge and the smallness of the detent result in the head actually flipping off of the shaver.Once this resulted in all of the head guts coming out.As a result, I am no longer sure that the cutters are matched up.However, do not attribute the lack of closeness of shave to this happening. It did not shave close even before the head popped off.
9.Since you have designed the head to flip open, the plastic cover that protects the head during storage no longer has threefold symmetry. As a result one has to look to see that the cover is oriented correctly. That is really dumb!
10.The detents on the protective cover are not strong enough. The cover wants to pop off particularly when you try to put the shaver in the storage pouch.
11.The storage pouch that provided is hard to use.It appears to be too small, although I think this would not be the case if the protective head cover were more secure and if the cord coiled more neatly with the huge plug.

I have now purchased a Norelco 6863XL.It works really well and I am pleased. Therefore, please note that the combination of marketing and styling has really worked to the detriment of function in your more top-of-the-line shavers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Happy After Two Years
I bought an 8825XL about two years ago. Prior to that I had used Brauns for many years. I am very happy with my Norelco.
I kept buying Braun razors because, when new, they give a very nice shave. The problem, for me, was that the shave quality deteriorated quickly because the foils in the head are so darned delicate. So I would buy a new Braun andin about 3 months it would need a new foil. But, of course, I didn't really want to put out the $30 quite that often so I would go for months with a poor shave. I would usually buy new foil and blade when I started getting nicked up. I bought the Braun with the cleaning system, thinking that taking the cleaning out of human hands would fix it. Didn't work that way, though. I was getting a little more out of a foil but I was paying $5 per month for the juice.
Anyway, I gave up and bought this Norelco. The first shave was _very_ nice. Just as good as a new Braun. And now, two years later, I have still not bought a blade set for it. The shaves are at least 90% as comfortable as when new.
The Norelco has been reliable and it is easy to clean. Once every couple of months I take the heads apart and clean the blades with alcahol. My wife commented on how quiet it was the first time I used it.
But maybe the problems with the Braun are just me. Maybe other Braun users have mastered the trick of handling it without messing up the shave quality. I'm sticking with my Norelco.

1-0 out of 5 stars Try Remington Smart System Titanium Instead
The instructions advise you to wait until the batteries are almost depleted before charging (to preserve battery life). That's fine, except for the fact that there is no battery gauge. Are you supposed to wait until the shaver stops and then wait 6 minutes for a quick charge? Poor design and poor shave to boot.

4-0 out of 5 stars a good shaver
I had been using a Norelco Reflex series razor for about 1 1/2 years when I decided to advance to the 8825XL Spectra. First thing I noticed was that the Spectra shaved my neck area much better than the Reflex...and my neck hair is really tough to shave close, since it sort of grows sideways.

I also LOVE the fact that I can just rinse the Spectra under warm water to clean the blades and heads...it's so much more convenient than using a brush with the Reflex.

The comfort control is a nice feature...it doesn't really seem to affect the shave per se, but the more sensitive settings do make the shave more comfortable, which I like since I have pretty sensitive skin.

3-0 out of 5 stars flimsy
Nicer features, but much less robust construction than Norelcos of earlier years -- plastic and very thin metal in critical areas. This one has lasted me barely a year, while previous shavers lasted 5-10. ... Read more

Amazon.com

Remington produced the world’s first electric shaver in 1937, and continues to be a leader in shaving technology. Styled with a no-slip grip, the MicroScreen Ultra promises a superior shave even on tough spots, with three independently flexing screens that hug face and neck contours. A three-position trimmer, coated with titanium for superior strength and cutting ability, pops up to work in tandem with the screens, or alone to quickly trim a beard or mustache. This model features sixty minutes of running time. A green light indicates the shaver is either charging or charged. Cleaning the razor after each shave is simple. Just squeeze the two release buttons, pull off the head, and blow, brush, or rinse out any stubble. A cleaning brush is included, along with a zippered, padded carry pouch, protective head guard, and a removable cord that stretches to about five feet. The shaver automatically converts to other voltages worldwide, making it great for travel. Remington covers the shaver with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a two-year warranty against defects.--Ann Bieri ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest, Not the worst
The Remington MS3-1700 falls shorts of being a superb razor. The manual states that your face may take up to 2 weeks to become "used" to the new shaver. After having this razor for over a year now I must admit that my face is anything but used to the razor. However, that is not to say that the razor isn't completely useless.

Positives:
- The blades don't pull at the hairs like other razors tend to
- The positioning of the blades and the trimmer works well for thicker facial hair
- The trimmer by itself is useful for cutting longer hairs in preparation for a closer shave or as a beard trimmer (why have two electronics when one will do)
- With regular blade changes the razor can provide decently close shaves (nothing beats a straight edge though)

Negatives
- Limited battery (I could never get more than two shaves off one charge)
- The razor won't shave when plugged in (I'm still uncertain how this design ever passed... it just doesn't make sense)
- The razor doesn't give the best shaves (there are better other cordless shavers on the market)
- The razor simply can't shave longer hairs as they won't slip into the screen (the trimmer helps this problem but the combination of trimmer and screen can leave you with painful razor burn)

All in all, the Remington has one big selling point and that is its low cost. However, the entire point of an electric razor is to give a convenient and close shave and this razor simply doesn't provide that if you have a thick beard or let your hairs get to long. If you're just looking for a cheap decent razor to get you by on a trip then this works perfectly. However, for men looking for a razor to use consistently to stay groomed I would suggest looking elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Titanium?Kinda sorta
Don't be misled like I was on this shaver. The only titanium on it is a titanium coating on the pop-up trimmer -- there's no titanium on the shaver's foil cutters. The trimmer is supposed to work in combination with the cutters.Per the manual, "Your new Remington shaver provides a close, comfortable shave on your entire face, even on the tough spots like your neck and chin.Simply engage the special Titanium-coated trimmer blades so they are aligned with the shaver foils."Excuse me?If I wanted to shave my face with an electric trimmer, I'd use my haircutting trimmer. And shaving with a trimmer ain't exactly "comfortable".The shaver does a POOR job without using the trimmer in combination with the foil.Shaving with the foil alone leaves lots of long hairs that just wont enter the screen no matter how many passes I make, unlike _orelco products.Had I known this from the start I'd have just bought another _orelco.

Further, the MS3-1700 IS NOT worldwide voltage, regarless of what amazon says.It is a single votage model (120 VAC, 60Hz), again per the manual. Finally, the cordless only feature mentioned elsewhere is a hassle. If you run out of juice on the battery halfway through a shave your out of luck since it will not run off of the cord.

With all that said, by using the trimmer/foil combo technique suggested, this shaver does give a nice close shave, perhaps even closer than the _orelco.And if you don't like it, Remington has a supposed 30 day money back guarantee.

Even with all it's drawbacks, I'm still satisfied with it and will probably keep it.The price sure is right.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Shaver - Minor Drawbacks
I've had a lot of luck with Remington in the past, so I stuck with them when I could not obtain replacement cutters for my XLR-810.

The biggest problem with this shaver has already been mentioned - you can't shave while it's plugged in. I really dislike the rechargeables because the battery dies after about 5-6 years, and it cannot be replaced.

Another problem is the shape of the actual unit. I have relatively large hands and find this shaver to be a little small. It's slick, tapered body makes it difficult to hold. It has a tendency to "squirt" upward out of my hand, and as a result I've nearly dropped it on a few occasions. Remington (Rayovac) - please go back to your old square designs!

Other than those flaws, this shaver is quite good.
1. The trimmer is in the right place, directly alongside the foils, instead of popping out of the middle of the unit, like the poor Braun designs.
2. I have a very strong jaw line and find that this shaver does a decent job of getting the whiskers in the difficult places.
3.The charge is supposed to last 60 minutes, but I have found that it lasts a fair bit longer, although, the speed of the cutters slows considerably.
4. And, being able to wash the cutters with water after each use is very practical.

Overall, I recommend it to anyone who doesn't care that it is essentially disposable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good shaver, but.......
......you cannot use it while it is recharging.IMO, this is a drawback to the shaver, though perhaps not enough to dissuade a potential buyer from purchasing one as it works very well. The pop-up trimmer does a fine job for long hair. For the current $39 price(I paid $50+), I think you will have a hard time beating the value this shaver presents overall.

Overall, it is highly receommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Shaver Okay
My only complaint about this shaver is that it doesn't work when plugged in to the power/while recharging. If you drain the battery and need to shave, you have to wait for it to recharge.

It's got a nice popup trimmer that you can use along with the blades to pre-cut any long hairs before going into the blades.

The included pleather pouch is a bit small to hold the razor and charging cable.Includes a little brush too.

Overall - I give it 4 stars for the price and only because Amazon has them for $40 including shipping. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great item but way too expensive on-line
Great and must have baby item. I think it's the best quality of all baby wipes. But it's too expensive on-line. Just purchase them in your local market.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is too expensive...
The retail price in local stores is 2.99, and you can get it in even cheaper price when it is on sale

5-0 out of 5 stars So many uses
This are great for so many things and I try to get a travel pack in the car.

Small spills
Sticky messes on little fingers
Diaper changing
Sticky messes where little hands have been
Wiping a table at a fast food restaurant
Cleaning up after "accidents"

There are many more uses for these and it's a good idea to always have an extra pack on hand. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I had my doubts since I'm not an organic or health devotee.
I ordered these diapers from Amazon simply because during one of the promotions, they were cheaper than both Huggies and Pampers. I had my doubts but was so surprised and pleased when I tried them. With Pampers, my son would sometimes have accidents out the backside of the diaper and other times when I tried Huggies Supreme, he would wet through them at night.
These are the driest diapers I have ever used and there is never a stench with wet diapers. I love them!

5-0 out of 5 stars best eco friendly disposable
I just love these diapers. My heavy wetter son, who isa year old now, can go hours in these with no leaks.Just a comment on what another reviewer said....these DO NOT contain the absorbent beads that commercial diapers do. Also, Amazon's price is $2 less than our local Whole Foods.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Diaper!
I have tried almost every diaper on my 3 month old son (cloth, Tushies, Pampers, Huggies, and various generic brands) and Seventh Generation is my hands down favorite. They are the softest disposable I have encountered and I like that they are not chlorine bleached. They are also more generously sized than other brands, and I appreciate that they are unscented. I highly recommend these diapers!

5-0 out of 5 stars leak resistant, very absorbant, GREAT fit, LOVE the tabs!
We tried these out looking for an alternative to 'chemical' filled commercial diapers like huggies. I have found them very easy to put on, I LOVE that the tabs are both velcro and tape, they seem so much stronger! The fit is great, and we haven't had a leak yet! My son is a heavy wetter, I will DEFINITELY be using these from now on, and with our new baby on the way! buy with CONFIDENCE!

5-0 out of 5 stars These diapers ROCK!
We are a pretty eco-friendly family, and did the pros and cons of disposables vs. cloth diapers, and in our research it ended up a wash (pun intended)and decided to use disposables, but we still were not comfortable using anything bleached, with chemicals or a plastic coating on our daughters body.

We have been using Seventh Generation diapers since our daughter was born (she is now almost 7 months old), and they have been wonderful. They are great through the night, not one leak. We have had a couple blow outs, but it is only when she is getting towards the end of the weight range for that size.

If you want to give your baby or child a diaper that is as natural as disposable get, and don't want to use cloth, these are the way to go! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars May be useful for travelling, but not for everyday use
I received a sample of these in the mail from Pampers and used it the very same day while feeding my 8 month old.I must say I was skeptical.Mainly because I had no problem with using cloth bibs and secondly because of the cost.As many 8 month olds are, mine was very interesting in tearing apart the bibster and eating it!After I distracted his attention away from it I fed him and as soon as I removed it, I noticed it had leaked through on the backside, leaving it cold and damp.

I would not purchase these for everyday use.Maybe if I were travelling, but even then for the price I think I would just bring along several cloth bibs.

5-0 out of 5 stars PERFECT!
These bibs are great while on the go.They are disposable which is even better. No need to carry around extra bags to keep dirty bibs in anymore! They are lightweight and take up almost no space at all! They are even good in the house when all the bibs are in the wash. We've ended up doing that quite a few times and we have over 30 washable bibs.Too bad no one thought of these earlier. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Replace Them Every Year
It may seem like an unnecessary expense, but replacing your razor's heads every year is the best thing you can do. After 365 shaves, the blades do start to dull, even though no physical wear is evident. Replacing the heads gives you a fresh start so that you can experience the closest and most comfortable shave possible. ... Read more

Gold-plated foils and titanium-coated trimmers give this rechargeable razor the edge over others when it comes to a comfortable, close shave--wet or dry. With their superior flexing ability, the two foils and one floating trimmer hug body contours, while the permanent soft comfort strip means less irritation. An oval-shaped stand holds the razor upright as it recharges, and a triangular travel case neatly stores everything; including the foil guard and cleaning brush. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great product for legs...
So I waited until I had very long and thick leg hair before I used this shaver the first time (on Monday). It took me about 10-15 minutes to totally shave it off (very easily and without any nicks or hair-pulling).It says to use the shaver every day for the first 3 weeks so that your skin gets used to it etc, and so I did shave again for the next 3 days. No problems at all, today (friday) I went out early and so I didn't shave even though I should have. Now in the early evening, my legs have a slight stubble that you can feel but barely see.I am a natural redhead so any coarse hairs end up being bright orange when they are long enough to see, and always have a "glow" to them even when just starting out as stubble and you can't see the color too much yet.

Anyways, it's been 5 days, the shaver works great on my legs, tried it once on my underarms and did yet some cuts/abrasions but I have a lot of little bumps located there and could understand why it happened.I prefer to just shave with a blade underarm since it is so easy and quick anyways. I have another Remington product that has the 5 adapter heads that I use for my bikini area and other small trimming stuff so I won't review it for that but it seems to work great (as other reviews say as well) and for something with a 2 year warranty, you can't really beat that...

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
This is the best shaver I have ever used! I don't shave very often but when I do I always have problems with the shaver (The regular kind).. My skin is very sensitive so I always get real itchy after using a shaver and I sometimes get nicks and cuts. So I have been looking for a good shaver for a long time and decided on trying an electric one this time.. Another problem I have is my legs get swollen real bad sometimes and I can't shave them because the itching or cuts etc. get real bad during that time. But when I got this shaver I wasn't expecting to much out of it but I was definitely amazed with it's performance. I read and did the instructions it gave me and it was the best shave I had ever had in years! It did not hurt, pull, itch or cut my skin in any way and was very smooth and it was just wonderful and what amazed me even more was that my legs were swollen when I used it and it never hurt me and I got a real close shave without any problems. I have been using it dry but I'm planing on using it with my skin wet next time just to try it. Also I have used it when my legs were not swollen and it was just as good. I'm so happy to have a shaver that does not give me any problems. It's really wonderful and easy to clean. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazed!
Here is a women's electric shaver that actually works, whether wet or dry. It's the first one I've used that comes close to blade smoothness.I particularly like the small recharging stand, and the fact that the shaver arrived charged.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not satisfied!
This was not my first Remmington shaver, but after going through 3 Smooth and Silky Plus Shavers and a Smooth and Silky Ultra (none of which lasted longer than 6-7 months with normal everyday use), it will most likely be my last. While I liked the shaver and it didn't cause skin irritation like regular razors, I find it VERY irritating that I have to plunk down anywhere from $45-$60 every six months for a new one because the motor dies! These are not disposable razors but they are produced to be such!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This is a great little shaver!I'm so glad that I decided to purchase it over others.I'm a stay-at-home mom with a 2 year old, so I don't have time to stay in the shower to shave.I just take my shower real quick, put on some shorts, and sit on the floor in the living room and shave my legs!My son thinks it's wonderful, too!It works really well, no cuts to worry about, and it cleans up easily.I find that for me, it works better out of the shower than in. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Use on cell phone, PDA, computer screens, too
I probably never would have considered purchasing this cleaning cloth without having it recommended to me in an article about Treo 650 (smartphone) accessories.

Using anything other than a cleaning cloth designed for these sensitive surfaces can lead to scratches and permanent damage.

I carry it in my laptop case and use it almost daily, both to remove the oily residue left by my fingers that quickly builds up on my Treo's touchscreen, but also to keep my laptop computer screen sparkling.

It's fast, it's easy and it's a safe and inexpensive way to protect your investments.

4-0 out of 5 stars First impressions are good...
... I purchased this item to remove some debris off my camcorder lens and found it to do the job very nicely.

The microfiber texture feels nice - a little beady, but soft and textured.

Using it was easy, I just wiped the lens in a circular fashion with light pressure and eventually the debris was gone. (some fingerprints and what appeared to be a scratch but wasn't)

The packaging is a little subpar though. It comes in a plastic bag which you tear open at the bottom to slide the cloth out. However doing so leaves adhesive residue, which the cloth then sticks to and you have to tear it off, making those sections of the cloth appear phyically different - a bit roughed up I'd say. This is poor design as the packaging says to store the cloth inside the bag when not in use to avoid contamination, so I used a scissor to cut the bottom of the bag with the adhesive residue off.

I've yet to machine wash it, but so far it works well. It's just a cheap lens cleaning cloth after all. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my number 1 all over do.
Im probably not the best person to review this complete haircut kit as I literally shave my head short (number 1) all over. However for this persom they are great. They feel very well made and durable. They are extremely sharp and not having to oil them is a very welcome feature. They hold their charge well enough. As for the other 21 pieces in the set I can really comment as I wont be using them but they look of a decent quality. Shame remington cannot introduce a stand alone clipper set without all the fancy accessories for a cheaper price for those who just buzz cut though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nervously awaiting delivery.
Read the bad reviews - but took a chance anyway. What a SUPERB
Clipper with a full load of accessories. I used the power cord immediately and it is very quiet - and smoothe, no jerking hair
and effortless to use. Gave myself (tricky using a mirror) a
super trim job all around. Stunned by how smoothe and EFFORTLESS
it was using it. Fantastic 23pc set. My BARBER has a noisy noisy
thing he used on my head - that raised all kind of XXXX ---jerking out hair as it nearly stalled at times. Here I did my own hair and it looks darn good --with NOT EVEN ONE PULL! Many
many years ago I bought CLIPPERS and they were terrible - snat-
ching hair out by the roots. This REMINGTON CLIPPER is fantastic
smoothe and quiet and worth every penny. With this unit ANYBODY can be a Barber in about an hour. I RECOMMEND this product 100
percent - and love the "adventure" of cutting my own hair - and
saving money!Jack (and I'm 72)

1-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected!
When used with anything but the one inch attachment it badly pulls hair. Even the scissors and trimmer are dull.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chromed and sharp for the chrome dome
Simply put, these clippers work great.I really don't know what a couple of the other reviewers have been talking about. My hair is particularly thick, and the clippers run through it like a knife through warm butter. The cordless option is fantastic.Though it is indeed a bit less powered than when plugged into an outlet, it worked well enough for me to cut my hair standing in the tub so that the hair clippings did not fall all around the bathroom.Let's run through the summary:

PROS
-light, very light...so it's easily maneuverable.
-very quiet.
-comes with a bunch of different size groomers and trimmers for varying lengths.I have opted to go near bald sometimes and otherwise chosen to leave my hair pretty long in other cases. It worked well in both instances.
-cordless.

CONS
-really, I can't think of one.If hard-pressed, I might suggest a better storage box for all the trimmers and accessories that it comes in. But quite frankly, you get two brushes to clean the trimmers, a bunch of varying length attachments, and a storage bag.

All in all, this is a terrific clippers and a great value.Frankly, the only thing that irks me is that the price has come down 5 bucks since I bought mine 6 months ago. But, the price was still low in the first place, so what's the deal.

UPDATE: I am lowering the review to 4 stars. The clippers are still pretty nice, but they lose their sharpness very very quickly.I am in talks with Remington to figure out a way to resolve this problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars "YEOOOOOOOOOW!!!"
That was the scream of my husband when getting his hair cut by this new set of clippers. Our old one finally died after 5 years (a different brand) so I tried to research some clippers.I saw Remington seemed to have only a slightly higher rating than others so I thought we'd go for that one.

The only pro? It's whisper quiet, he didn't even know it was on...

...until wads of his hair were getting ripped from his scalp. He likes his hair short (less than 1/2") and we had to whittle using the 1/2" attachment which made him wince and then again with the 3/8" and 1/4" attachments to get it even all over.I was literally sweating I was so nervous cutting his hair because he was obviously in pain. This is going back PRONTO and I'm sure I'll be reviewing another brand...hopefully a positive one! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Machine - First time user of electric toothbrush
I've never owned an electric toothbrush before and was hesitant to spend so much money on a toothbrush. I've been having problems with my gums and I have very, very sensitive teeth and I knew I needed to do MORE to take better care of my teeth and gums. I bought this toothbrush a week ago and I can already feel the difference in how my gums feel and how clean my teeth feel.

My gums are bleeding, but my understanding is that this is normal in the first week or so of using this toothbrush (my gums were bleeding before).

I spend most of my time in undeveloped countries and do not have access to good dental care. I believe this is one of the better ways for me to take the best care of my teeth as is possible and I only wish I would have bought it many years ago.

The only negative I see is that I bought this one in the U.S. (where I'm staying for a few weeks) without paying attention to the voltage when I made the purchase. I don't think I can use this same one outside of 110v countries.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better buy the Oral-b 7850 DLX!
I used some previous Oral-b electric toothbrushes in the past, and I was always very satisfied with them. The new toothbrush seamed to be a perfect choice, especially for the new features I didn't have before:

1. 3D Excel Brushing Action with 40,000 pulsations and 8,800 oscillations:

My expectation: Much more power and a different 3D brushing should improve cleaning.
My conclusion: Didn't note any difference comparing to the previous ones.

2.Speed Control:

My expectation:Good to clean the tongue and gingival at lower speed.
My conclusion: The control is too bad. You have to press a unique button for a long time to reach the lower velocity, and if you stop the power, for example, to move the brush from one side to another (up to down), and want to resume it again at the lower velocity, you must press the button again until you reach the lower velocity. It sucks. After an initial period I ended using always the standard velocity. Oral-b, you should put another switch where you can select the proper velocity in which the power will work: low, medium or high.

3. Pressure Sensor:

My expectation: Great! I always put too much force to clean my teeth.
My conclusion: Didn't note any difference, even when I tested it, didn't note that pulsations stop when you brush too hard.

4. A 2-minute-total and 30-second-for-each-side Timer:

My expectation: Good to control if you clean more time or less time than appropriate.
My conclusion:not much useful. Many times you should stop the power, and in this case, the timer (it is not a sound, but a vibration instead) goes to zero. Other times you should keep cleaning one side for more than 30 seconds, but when you move to the other side, you lose the control of how much time you should stay in the new side.

5. FlexiSoft brushhead:

My expectation: To be the same as previous ones.
My conclusion: They are the same as previous ones. Very goods.

6. PowerPolisher brushhead:

Sorry. I cannot use it, until I finish my orthodontic treatment.

7. DualAction brushhead:

My expectation: To clean better.
My conclusion:Not useful. The FlexiSoft are better ones.

8. Tongue Freshener:

My expectation: To clean my tongue better. Maybe it has some mint or freshener liquid or something.
My conclusion: No better, not worst, than a regular tongue cleaner. No mint, no freshener liquid, no nothing.

9. Interdental Cleaner:

My expectation: a good rapid substitute for flossing.
My conclusion: KIDDING! Useless. No substitute for flossing AT ALL! A waste of money!

As a final conclusion, the power tooth bush continuous to be good, but the extra accessories and functions are not much useful. As written in the title, I recommend you buy the Oral-b 7850 DLX instead. It is cheaper, and you would not need the extra brushheads (you can buy the PowerPolisher brushhead separately).

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, something to get the fuzz off my teeth!
We never considered an electric toothbrush, thinking it would be just another unnecessary gadget cluttering up the house. Then my oral hygienist casually mentioned that her patients with the healthiest gums all seemed to use the Braun toothbrush, and interestingly, "not Sonicare."My gums had been receding at an alarming rate, and the exposed tooth roots were being grooved by aggressive brushing.Yikes.Well, the Braun has been a revelation; the plaque is pretty much gone, and the "fuzz," especially on the sides of the molars, is gone too.So the functioning is 100%.As for the product design, I was afraid the stand wouldn't fit on the narrow ledge of my ceramic sink. Not a problem here; it's skinny, has a non-skid rubber base, and is superbly weighted - it is not tippy at all. The bonus is the blue LED light, which doubles as a night light by the sink.Like most things German and Braun, this thing is thoughtfully designed (e.g., a little rubber stopper prevents the unit from rolling around, should you lay it down on a flat surface) and of top quality, not junky at all like those other units imported from elsewhere.Worth every penny.Note: this package comes with a bunch of other gizmos, most of which qualify as "clutter"; we would just get the basic unit if we had to do it over again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, such an improvement over normal toothbrushes.
This toothbrush is great! It works great; it comes with lots of accessories too.It improved the cleanliness of my teeth and the healthiness of my gums so much!It has a timer so you know exactly when to switch areas of your mouth and when to stop brushing.I wish I would have bought this a long time ago!
Oh, and - I bought it from my dentist "at cost" for only $65!!So check with them first.
Highly recommended toothbrush!

3-0 out of 5 stars for first time eletronic tooth brush user
this is my first eletronic toothbrush so i cant really compare to the other brands.
It's loud and the handle gets heavy after awhile.
i think someone mention this already, the whole things feels cheap. there are even glitters on the handle..not what i was looking for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Holds #1, not #2
The title says it all. I never had a trouble with #1 leaking, but almost everytime my breastfed son has a BM (which are usually somewhat loose), it leaks out the back or leg area. Perhaps it happens because the waistband isn't stretchy. I'm not going to buy these diapers again.

5-0 out of 5 stars First time in 30 years......
Over the last 30 years I've tried 4 or 5 electric shavers. I always had to trash it as it either irritated my skin or pulled the hairs out instead of cutting them out. The Braun 8595 is great! It took several days to get used to, but it has performed like no other. I have used the ole blade once or twice simply because I was on the road and failed to pack my new shaver. I don't forget it anymore. I especially like the cleaning each time I use it. Makes me feel that it maintains that sanitary condition.

5-0 out of 5 stars Use on a Braun 7526
Has anyone tried using the 8000 series foil on one of the older 7526 series shavers ? Will it fit ?

5-0 out of 5 stars Pricey but worth it
The manufacturer recommends replacing the foil screen and cutter block every 18 months for maximum performance. I wholeheartedly agree. This cutting system seems to last a little longer than older models but it certainly doesn't last forever. While it might not be exactly at 18 months, you can readily tell that the blades are getting dull when it takes longer to shave and/or you begin experiencing skin irritation. The set is pretty expensive but Amazon.com seems to have a very competitive price (a lot cheaper than I've seen in any brick & mortar store). Having said that, it really is like getting a brand new razor each time you make the change so it's very worthwhile doing it. Not sure if you can even buy them separately, but changing both parts at the same time ensures a closer shave with less skin irritation because they work together as an integrated system. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
I consider myself to be enough of a minimalist that the idea of an electric toothbrush seemed excessive to me.When my friend raved about hers (she has used hers for 5 or 6 years now) she said that it changed her life.I gave it a shot, and it took about a week or two before it didn't feel really weird but now I absolutely love it.On the occasions that I use a regular toothbrush my teeth simply don't feel clean like they do when I use my sonicare.I love this toothbrush and and feel it is well worth the investment.

4-0 out of 5 stars It saved my teeth! But it does have a flaw!
This wonder-brush save me from costly dental bills and tooth decay.I've had it for about three years and it still works great. It has lost some of its former power, even at full charge, then when I bought it new but still works fine. It's a lazy man's key to tooth care. You just hold it in place and let the brush do it's magic. I love it. But it does have one flaw that I am surprised that Sonicare has not address yet. Where the brush stem connects with the head can collect water (or saliva, ewww!). And with liquid pooling in that area, leads to mold. You MUST vigorously shake out the Sonicare 4100 after each use or mold WILL grow! Besides that bit of unpleasantness it's a great toothbrush.

5-0 out of 5 stars A pleasant brushing experience
I've always had a hard time brushing my teeth long enough and with the right amount of pressure (so as to not affect the enamel and gums). The Sonicare is the answer to my dreams!!

I LOVE brushing my teeth with this thing. A little beep goes off every 30 seconds so I know when to change positions. And even though it's recommended that one brush one's teeth for the full 2 minute cycle, I frequently end up brushing for 4 or more minutes since it feels so good and it makes my teeth and mouth feel refreshingly clean. Honestly, can you think of the last time you brushed your teeth with a regular toothbrush for 2 minutes at one time?

Admittedly, the initial investment is a bit steep. Yet I'm convinced it's worth the expense. The brushes last about 6 months and cost about $25 for 2 replacements. I still consider this to be a fairly small investment for my dental future. This is a great brush. Try it with confidence!

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A GREAT TOOTH BRUSH !
If you have receding gum's or just want the cleanest mouth in town this is it!To the person above my brush went out after 3 year's so i called sonic care toll free and they sent me a new one i did copay on it but they where very fair! As for the peoplethinking the replacement brushes are a little spendy they are more then just the brush as they have the magnet part in it also and they usually have a two pack on sell for under 19 dollar's. As far as the vibration when you start using it may take a week to get use to it and yes close your mouth or you will have tooth paste flying all over ! WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY THING ELSE My dentist check up's have been great and my gum's are healthy! 5 STAR PRODUCT! BUY ONE!

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR CLEANING IF YOU CAN GET PAST THE VIBRATION
My dentist suggested I get this eletric toothbrush due to a receding gumline.I've had it over a week and it does a progressively better job of cleaning. The hardest thing to get used to is the vibration in your mouth. You have to seal your lips around the brush so paste and spit don't spray out. This makes your lips vibrate and become numb.My favorite feature is the two minute timer. The brust automatically stops after two minutes of brushing to keep you from overdoing it.

After a while it feels like the spaces between your teeth do not get as clean as the surfaces and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it.After awhile I switched back to my toothbrush and realized I wasn't doing as good a job around the gumbline as I was with the Sonicare.Guess it's a toss up. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Its INCREDIBLE........!!!!!!!!!!
So, here's my story.I have bought the Conair hair straigtener/crimper/waver one before last year.I used the crimper and waver and they were pretty useful but I hate when my hair is frizzy and awful.I used the straigtener and it gave me bad results.I have thin hair by the way, and last Christmas, my aunt gave me a Wigo flat iron. That flat iron worked pretty well but now it's like 6 months old and it stopped working. Then the other day, I was telling my mom to buy me a new one and she did and she bought this Conair flat iron in a store..It's actually really good.. no frizzes... sleek hair... shiny hair... This is what you want for those girls out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe this isn't $170+
I honestly cannot believe this costs $20. I was skeptical because I have used other ceramic irons that cost $100, $150 and up and this works just as well as they do, if not better. I have never ever been able to get my naturally wavy, thin, damaged hair to ever look like this. In 15 mins I have stick straight hair that is shiny and glossier than ever. Seriously my hair always feels like straw, hay, actually haha but now it feels like the soft, shiny virgin hair of a 6 year old. I may buy a few more of these just in case anything ever happens to this one, its amazing. Don't waste your $$ on anything more expensive, this is all you need, trust me.

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't use if you have small hands
I bought this product but did not work well for me b/c I have small hands. The scissor like handles just opened up too wide and could not work well with it. The combs would just add more problems since it would get tangled up. Again due to my small hands.
The product DOES however heat up fast and I like the dial heat settings. If you have small hands buy one that has a tong style to it. I bought a hair dryer instead w/ions/ceramic. I love my curly hair and I won't bother w/ a straightener.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!!!
Wow!! this straightner works very good. I have had this straightner for about a year and it has never gaven up! It works so well, and heats up very quickly. Once I got it, all my friends got one and they all agreed on how good it was. It is a good straightner and has a really good price. I would highly recomend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing
I bought this straightener two days ago and just got it today. I've only used it once but it is quite amazing. It usually takes me 30 minutes to straighten my hair which is long so 30 minutes isn't that bad. I used a friend's straightnener and hers was much better than mine so I decided to search for a new one. Well, this is the first one I looked at and I ordered it. It is great beyond belief. It took me 10 minutes to straighten my hair. And it didn't leave my hair feeling fried or anything. My hair feels soft and looks gorgeous! If you're looking for a new hair straightener, this is it! Trust me! ... Read more
