Keeps me dry and sliding
I've had what might be clinically described as an, ahem, overly sweaty crotch area for the past 30 something years.I started self treating it with corn starch (yes, recommended by Ken Kesey) and baby powder and then the Gold Bond products (regular in winter, extra strengh in summer), which worked just fine as long as I lived in the desert southwest (av. humidity 10%).Soon after I moved to Memphis (av humidity 70%), things went horribly out of control and I found myself in a dermotologists office displaying a truly world class example of (ahem) crotch rot.He said that the Gold Bond products were starch based and the local fungal critters just thrived on starch. Lamisil May Work Better For You
A semi-athletic friend of mine who frequents the "Y" tells me that Lamisil works better than this medication. While Lamisil costs a bit more, it worked better on the most stubborn areas, such as the bottom of his foot. Lotrimin seems to take longer as well. Usually, we talk about more interesting things, but he wanted to get the word out.

Gold Bond Foot Swabs
A swipe with a swab twice a day will keep Athlete's Foot at bay and under control.This can only be used twice a day for a four-week period for Adults and children.

I got a call from the School Nurse regarding my 8 year old non verbal autistic son. They said he was scratching his foot on the rug and it appeared to be Athlete's Foot.

The case is plastic with a snap enclosure to keep the contents in securely. There are 24 swabs with a blue ring around one side. The affected spot needs to be washed and dried before applying the liquid that lands in the bottom of one tip. I find it easier to snap the tip in another room and just have the swab ready when I apply the layer. If you have an impatient child this works easier and they do not need to watch the process.

The trick with the colored ring side of the swab is to break it at the tip and then toss that in the garbage. The liquid gel will then move down to the end of the other tip. This is a clear gel with no scent and easy to apply with one or two strokes across the area. The swab is three inches long and easy to bend, but the tip needs to be broken at the top. The case is easy to close, but sometimes you need two hands to release it open.

The medicine flows to the other end quickly, this is not a messy process, but caution should be used in storing this out of reach of children. You would not want a child to put this in their ear. I did not see any warning on the box or container, but just my thoughts.

It is recommended to do the application in the morning and at night. Children should be supervised when this is being administered and only for those over the age of two. Shoes and socks should be changed daily with the shoes being well-fitted and ventilated. ... Read more
