Very disappointing
My old Norelco trimmer finally died so my wife gave me this trimmer as a Christmas gift. Fortunately she kept the receipt, because it's going back. The vacuum feature is pretty much useless aside from whirring a lot. The intake is a gaping slot behind the trimmer blades, but the suction there is negligable. If my face was a perfectly vertical plane and all my whiskers were at 90-degree angles then this arrangement might almost work. As it is, it doesn't. Between the odd angle of the slot and the air blowing from the fan at the bottom it seems to toss stuff around even more than my old trimmer. I guess I'll try Norelco's vacuum model.

Good enough trimmer, but vacuum is only a gimmick
This trimmer seems sturdy and well built, but I, like most folks, bought this because of the vacuum feature.I would estimate that the vacuum picks up about 70% of the clippings, so I'm not sure it is worth the noise (and it is noisy).I found this to be true regardless of how big the trim job.Also, when this trimmer goes dead, it goes dead fast. My old trimmer would slow down when the batteries needed charging, leaving me with some wiggle room to finish up my trim. With this trimmer, you can end up half trimmed and waiting for a recharge (a great complication on the day of a job interview). I got the trimmer REAL cheap on ebay so I'm somewhat satisfied, but I wouldn't pay more than $25 for this trimmer.

A Big Let Down!!
I, like others, bought this for the vacuum feature. The vacuum catches about 75% of the hair but it never collects in the collection tray. I dont know where it is goin. The blade and 9 different settings are good but that feature comes on just about every trimmer model. Bottom line is if you want to try because of the vacuum feature, DONT!!!

Good for some trimming, but you better have another
I was attracted to this trimmer due to the built-in vacuum-- the idea was, light grooming AFTER I'd been out of the shower a while, and the ability to do a touch-up without getting hair on my clothes or the sink. Well, it's not TOO bad for that, but in actuality only gets maybe 95% of the hair, and that is dependent on how you position the unit.

It was a good thing that I still had my dependable Remington MB40... it is really a better unit for more heavy duty trimming IMHO. Also, you really can't trim nose hair or inside ear hair (hey, that's what happens when you get old) due to the way the blades are positioned--- but I can with the old MB40.

I'll recommend it for the light trimming chores, but not for all-around use. It's not versatile enough.

Vacuum poor; drugstore.com won't take it back
I tried this once before going back to my regular Norelco trimmer.It feels cumbersome to hold and doesn't vacuum very well.To top it off, DRUGSTORE.COM wouldn't let me return it since it was 34 days after it was purchased (it was a birthday present) and they only let you return an item within 30 days!I sent it back anyway but couldn't get any credit even with a UPS confirmation number.Steer clear of this shaver and buy a different shaver locally where you can return it if you don't like it! ... Awesome
I just recieved this today with the warmer I bought and didn't even hesitate to start heating it up. I never must have given much thought to what I was about to do - a self-brazilian wax- but one hour later I was completely hair free. This stuff worked SO awesome. I have been getting professionally waxed at the salon for a year now, and doing it myself was the best decision ever. I did a much better job than any professional has done, and I even waxed one of my friends today, too.

The good thing about hard wax is that it hurts MUCH MUCH less than sugar sticky type wax with strips. It doesn't pull off any of your skin and gets the hair right down to the follicle without ripping it at the skin like strip-waxing does.

this stuff burns like the hellfire.the directions say to leave it on for 4 minutes, but you'll be lucky if you can make it past the first 60 seconds without bolting for the fire extinguisher.by minute two, the chemicals have eaten through your epidermis while carefully avoiding all the hair that you wanted removed.oh and remeber to wear a gas mask, because the chemical fumes and stench of burning hair/skin is not all it's cracked up to be.personally, i attribute the invention of this product to nazi scientists, because i can't see any practical use for it other than pure torture.

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about, but this product does wonders... I only wish it had permanant effects.Its painless, simple and easy to use.Just roll it on, 4 minutes later with a warm wet washcloth wipe it off.I have sensitive skin on top of everything... so those who had bad experiences either have very light transparent skin or did not use this product properly.This formula is stronger than the female version.I've tried Nads (which worked, but HURT!) and Epil-stop (which literally ripped the skin off my body!), this product works great.Try it and make your own decision.What works for some may not work for others.

This is not for your hair!
The original use of this product is for removing paint off of cars. My husband followed the directions. Tested a small area first, it removed the hair and he waited a day to see if his skin would be irritated and it did not. So the next morning he applied it to his chest. He was fine till 4 minutes later when he wiped off the hair, he said it hurt, and as he kept wiping I noticed his face starting to change from "everything's fine" to "I want to kill you". I looked at his chest and it was red in some places and not in others. After he was finished, not all the hair came off, and where it did, it looked like he was burned in those spots. Don't buy it !

Great Experience with this product
This was the first time I have ever used a bikini trimmer.But I must say that this was a good one that I purchased.It came with a case, oil for the trimmer, a brush to clean with, 5 settings for hair length, this shaver is rechargeable, which is very nice.It is a trimmer and not a shaver so if your looking for a real close shave you better stick to either shaving or just with waxing. Have not found a better shaver in 30 years!
Yes, I've been using this product for over 30 years.Periodically I try another, usually highly touted, shaver and I've always been disappointed.A Flicker blade lasts many times longer, rarely nicks, and is so much cheaper.I was dismayed when the last store I knew that carried it stopped carrying it.I'm so happy to have found it here through Amazon!

Didn't know these were still around!!!
I can't believe I've done without this little jewel for so many years. I'd forgotten how wonderful they are! They're so handy - and they were never made for soap/cream and water shaving. They work best when used dry. That's nice because I like to sit in the privacy of my back yard in the sunlight to shave. And just tap or blow on the shaver to clean - no mess! You can often use the same blade more than once. Smooth legs with NO cuts or scrapes!! I am SO happy I found these again. Perhaps I should order in bulk!

best dry shave
This little shaver has been around for years. If you've ever been in a hurry and don't have time for the hot water soap/cream way to shave your legs then this will get the job done. In fact when it first appeared their commercials focused on the fact you did'nt need soap or water to use it. In fact, it works best on dry legs so you can use it anywhere and will not cut you.

I'm very glad there are other razors for women in the market. The Flicker was difficult to use, didn't handle well around the ankle and knee areas, and didn't provide a close shave. Also, with no pivoting head action it scraped off too much shaving cream. I found myself having to reapply shaving cream to cover the extra taken off. The more expensive epilady delux does a much much better job. I had to run the epigirl over a 2 inch space a dozen times with very little affect.I'm returning this product with great dissapointment.

Great value for the money, battery is a little slow.
I have used this shaver for a couple months and at first I had trouble shaving with it (simply because I'd never used an electric before) but after a week or two, I became much more comfortable with it. It provides a fairly close shave,has pretty good durability (I dropped it and thought it was broken for a while but in fact it wasn't)and is a terrific steal for 50 bucks.
The downside is the battery takes a while to recharge,near 8 hours and if you have the infamously problematic neckhair as I do then you may have to use your blimey mach 3 to shave that annoying adams apple hair. But if you need a pretty good electric shaver without all the bells and whistles, this puppy is a great buy at 50 and a strong buy at 60 bux.

Nice product
The only gripe I have with this product is the plastic protective/carry case. It fell apart after about two weeks. The reason I purchased an electric razor is so that I could take it to the gym. The protective case is a necessity in my gym bag. But the plastic case cracked at the hinge joint after about two weeks. Now it is held together with duct tape.

Other than that, it's a great product, especially for $50.

I have no idea what the others are referring to regarding noise and bulky recharging stands. Noise is similar to my other razors (acceptable) and the recharging stand is in proportion to the razor.

Works great, but recharger design is terrible
The shaver works great, on par with my old Braun 5414, but a lot faster (3 times, however consider that 5414 is 4 years old and it's motor is dying - the reason I got the 5610).The 5610 appears to have a more powerful motor, and it is much noisier, but that didn't bother me.

On the other hand, the recharger design is terrible.The recharger is a separate unit that the shaver sets into.The recharger was built into the 5414.When the 5414 ran out of juice, I just plugged it is and finished shaving, then let it recharge.Not with the 5610, I'm suppose to wait 8 to 16 hours before I can finish shaving?Right.And you can't shave with the recharger unit attached because it is only held in with gravity.Now I'll have to finish with my dying 5414.

It takes me about 7-8 minutes to shave, it lasted about 6 days, or about 43 minutes (not much for a 16 hour charge), but about what the manual said it would have at about 40 minutes.It took me about 24-25 minutes to shave with the 5414 (not new, which I don't remember the times), which gave me about 2.5 days of shaving.That's almost an hour of charge, for less than 4 hours charging time.

I've been a Braun user for many years since I switched from rotory shavers (Norelcos), which really didn't work for me.This shaver works great, but had I known about the recharger design, I would not have bought it.Perhaps the 5612 with its 5 minute one shave quick charge and 1 hour for 40 minutes would have been a much better choice.

A+ Battery, B- Shaver
My old shaver was a Remington Intercept, a model that's no longer made.It shaved great and had a really useful trimmer that could trim hair, beard, sideburns, etc.Unfortunately, the battery was just plain terrible.After using it for three years, I finally replaced it with the Braun, which I got from Amazon in a Gold Box special.

As I said in the title, the battery is incredible.I've taken it on vacation for a whole week and left the charger at home.But sadly, it doesn't do a very good job shaving.The foil is only about 2/3 the size of the Remington foil, and I believe that is the problem.

I don't get a very close shave with my Norelco, so I wanted to try something different. This Braun 5610 was definitely not the answer. First, it doesn't shave as close as the Norelco, but more importantly, it is VERY LOUD!! Worst Shaver I've Ever Owned
Single screen is just not enough -- takes a long time for a close shave, even on a light beard.Must shave everyday with this model or plan to spend 10 minutes going over and over your face.Trimmer cuts TOO close -- one slip and you'll lose an entire sideburn.Trimmer ejects at an awkward angle, making trimming difficult.Cord/cordless option is nice, though.

What do you expect for $30?
This shaver does not give a real close shave, but it has great features like automatic universal voltage adapter, combination shave, 1 hour recharge, easy cleaning, and an 18 month cutter block life.It is small, great for travel, and it is easy to handle....doesn't vibrate your arm off.It's not quite as good as the first Braun shaver I had over 10 years ago, but its good enough to please me with that very low price.As long as you don't want a super close shave, this is a great electric razor.

The Worst Shaver I've Ever Used!!!
I think the fellow that said this shaver is "a piece of junk" was way too kind. The Braun 3612 requires you to go over and over and over the same area in order to get, at best, a still stubbly shave. I've owned at least 5 older Braun models (all excellent!) but this one is a joke! I even replaced the foil and cutter block after about 5 uses and it's no better. The 3612 razor is a waste of MONEY and your time... unless you have 20 minutes to kill irritating your face with this "shaver" each morning.

Seems okay, I guess
I received this shaver about a month ago as a gift. This is the first electric shaver I have owned, so I can't really compare it to any others. The overall shave is okay, but the 3612 does have a few problems. The floating cutter is almost completely useless, as is the trimmer. I use the foil by itself, and it gives a fairly smooth shave, although I have to go over my face several times to achieve this. As i said, overall it seems like a decent shaver, but I can see myself purchasing a sturdier, more powerful model in the future.

Excellent Shaver
I've tried other electric shavers before, and none were up to the job until this one.Most other shavers I've tried (and not cheapo ones, either) leave a fair amount of stubble, but the braun really shaves close.The only down side I really see is that the cleaning cycle is a bit loud.That said, the self cleaning feature is fantastic - it seems as though everytime the base station cleans the razor unit, it's just like it came out of the box of the box for the first time.It even works well on week long trips where it can't be cleaned in it's base station.

I started using Williams shaving soap when I began shaving at 15. My father used Williams, and so I followed suit. I've tried other shaving soaps, and none seem to do as well as Williams. For dedicated mug-and-brush shavers, this is the soap for you.

Gillette's MACH3 Turbo Blows It's Engine
Being a very happy Gillette Sensor Excel user from the time it came out, I bought the Gillette MACH3 Turbo after reading all the hyped-up PR ads and watching the very good TV ads. I found that the MACH3 Turbo did fine on the strait-aways, but couldn't handle the tight turns around my chin and under my jaw.I soon found that I had to go very slow in those places to prevent nicks and cuts.Also, I really didn't find the MACH3 to shave any closer then my Gillette Sensor Excel.In fact the Sensor Excel out performs the MACH3 Turbo around my chin and under my jaw.I thought the MACH3 Turbo would be the Razor I would shave with every day at home, and I would keep my old Sensor Excel in my travel shaving kit to use when I was away on my camping and fishing trips or on vacation.But after 3 months of use my new Gillette MACH3 Turbo has been sent to the Bone Yard, and the Gillette Sensor Excel is now back in front line service.I think I'm going to try the new Gillette Sensor 3.At least I'll be able to use both the Sensor3 and the Sensor Excel Blades if the Sensor3 Blades out to be no big deal.However, if the Sensor3 turns out to be as good at the Sensor Excel, but with 3 blades, I'm sure it will be my new front line razor. ...
