5-0 out of 5 stars The best lotion I have tried so far
When used with one of the Coolskin shavers (I do not see this product being used without them, anyway), this is by far the best option available.

It is the only thing that will avoid skin irritation and reduce cuts. It also leaves a nice feeling that eliminates the need for an after shave gel or anything similar.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Electric Shaver Solution for a Non-irritating Shave!
I just bought the 7735X Norelco electric shaver, and it's the best shaver investment I have made yet.The ability to dispense the lotion directly from the shaver is great, and the closeness of the shave is amazing. The best part is that it does this with little to no irritation unlike my past electric shavers.I highly recommend these lotion cartridges to anyone who has these shavers!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better for people with sensitive skin.
This is better for people with sensitive skin than the HQ171 extra fresh. It feels smoother and doesn't make my razor drag or my face burn like the evil extra fresh lotion does. The lotion packs last pretty long.

For me it is cheaper to buy the lotion packs than buy new gillette mach 3 turbo blades.(this would depend on how much lotion you use)Although I don't get as close a shave I get way less irritation. ... Read more

Product Description

Panasonic, makers of fine electronic home and personal products, boasts some of the fastest and sharpest shavers on the market. For men, this Pivot Action Triple Blade Wet/Dry Shaver offers all the features a well-groomed man on the go could want. Pivoting head rocks back and forth and up and down to follow the contours of the face. The Pivot Action Selector adjusts the amount of pivot based on your preference, so you can get the maximum comfort and support that you need for a clean, close shave. In cordless mode, the shaver is fully immersible for both shaving and for fast, safe cleaning. The Turbo Cleaning Mode shifts the motor from 13,000 RPMs to an impressive 17,000 RPMs while decreasing the blade movement. This allows for effortless removal of build-up and residue on the blades, leaving the shaver clean and fresh. Other features include a 3-position full width trimmer, 5-minute quick charge, a 5-stage battery monitor and charge status lamp. It has a stainless steel foil and counter directional inner blades that move back and forth in opposing directions, for quieter shaving and reduced vibration. A great gift for any guy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Blade shaved for 30 years
Finally!A shaver for sensitive skin with a medium beard. Recharger is cutting edge. The feel of the shaver in my hand is so natural. Noise level is low. Easy to clean. Close shave with circular motions. I tried many electric shavers until I found this one. It actually competes with a blade shave, without the shaving cream, mess, and water wasting of a blade shave. I believe that I have recovered the overall cost of shaving between blade and electric in about a year. Mama never complains about scruffies and it travels well.

Best Wishes

2-0 out of 5 stars I've Had Better Razors...Even From Panasonic
I bought this razor about a month ago (well, I bought one of these Panasonics -- who can tell the difference with all these model numbers) and have been using it regularly. Quite frankly, it's not very good. Certainly not what one would expect from a razor that cost more than $100.

I've used Panasonic razors in the past, and had a wonderful single-head model a couple of years ago that worked well and was "wet/dry" -- so when that unit crapped out I figured I'd spring for the better two-headed model and get a better shave from a name that I could trust. This new razor, however, doesn't work as well as the old one. It takes many more passes to get a close shave, and with all the extra passes there is more irritation to my skin.

I've tried this razor wet, and I've tried it dry. I've tried it with lotion and without. I've tried it with the head set to "soft" and "hard" and in-between. I've tried it standing on my head. No matter how I use it, the shave is inferior to my previous Panasonic, and quite frankly not what I expected from a razor that cost more than $100.

On the upside, the induction charging system is a great improvement over previous models, since it means that there are no exposed charging pins or holes for water to leak in. Cleaning is a snap, and it is very comfortable in the hand. But even these advantages and the abilility to use it wet are not enough to overcome the deficiencies in shave quality. Next time, I'm going with a Norelco, I think.

5-0 out of 5 stars Close as a razor...
I had a Norelco before purchasing this and the Norelco was good but too much skin irritation and it pulled at the hairs on my face, ouch! The wet/dry is awesome, you can use any kind of shaving cream you want with it which makes for a very comfortable shave and not to mention extremely close!!Only other time my skin feels this smooth is when I shave with a razor. Also clean up is a breeze, no special cleaners needed, just some regular hand soap will do.Oh and no pulling at the hairs...Great product!

5-0 out of 5 stars No need to hesitate!
I've used Norelco and Remington electric shavers off and on since high school. Because of their poor performance I've been reluctant to invest over $100 in a Panasonic that may not perform any better. Only because of the strength of the reviews I've found online did I decide to go ahead and make the plunge.

There are three Panasonic models that appear to be identical except for color (8092, 8095 & 8152). I sent an email to Panasonic to confirm this, but have never received a reply. I purchased the 8095 only because Amazon had a special where with the purchase of Panasonic items over $129 they would send a $50 certificate towards future Amazon purchases. This brought the effective price down to just under $100.

For the last few years I've been using the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo with decent results. My face is sensitive and my beard grows in many different directions so shaving with a blade has been slow and painful. I'm always left with nicks, razor bumps and razor burn. There are also always a few little spots where I never get as close of a shave as I would like.

I purposely did not shave this morning since I was expecting the new Panasonic this afternoon. As soon as it arrived I placed it in its charging base. The battery indicator showed a 20% charge. I left it in the charger for about 30 minutes to indicate a full 100% charge.

Like the instructions indicated, I used shaving foam and probably took about 5 minutes to shave my entire face. Hopefully after using the shaver for a while I will be able to shave in 3 minutes or less.

The instructions state that it will take about 30 days for my beard and skin to get used to the new shaver. If my first shave is any indication, after 30 days I will absolutely never consider going back to a blade. I have a shave that is every bit as close as a blade if not even closer. No nicks, no razor bumps and little razor burn. Even after only my very first shave I feel very comfortable in recommending this shaver to anyone that is fed up with using a blade.

5-0 out of 5 stars if only i knew...
If only I knew shaving could be this pleasant, close, and comfortable I would've had this machine alot sooner. I haven't tried any of the other electric shavers on the market, but it'd be hard for me to believe that there could be a better one out there... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Value
This little guy works as well as any electric razor I have ever used. For 11 dollars it's a bargain. I would recommend NiMh rechargeable batteries though for longer life and more power.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for travel, commuting and the office
This is a great little shaver for commuting, to keep in your briefcase, or to leave at the office. It doesn't have the oomph nor the really nice sideburn trimmer that would make it a good choice for daily chopping of a heavy beard. It does have one noticeable flaw: sometimes the battery cover comes off in a suitcase or briefcase, dumping the AA batteries out. Most inconvenient.

But it's certainly worth the price and maybe a good bit more than that just to have a shaver at the office to get a quick trim before going out or before an important meeting.

4-0 out of 5 stars Small and spunky!(What the heck does that mean?)
Please note... I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because -- like any electric shaver I've ever owned -- it misses some hairs. The other reviewer is correct... you might have to use a razor on occasion to get 'em all.If you're familiar with electric shavers, you probably know exactly what we're talking about.

Having said that, I think it does as good a job as any other electric shaver I've owned. And I've spent a lot more than 10 or 11 bucks on those.

Bottom line:I like it and recommend it.

I use it as a travel shaver. It's "spunky" because it's battery powered. My rechargable starts to slow down after a couple of uses and, of course, needs to be charged. This one really has some energy and so far I haven't worn down the batteries.Battery life seems good since I'd be recharging by now with my other shaver.

You might want to carry a couple of extra batteries with you when you're traveling. But consider this... the shaver itself is self-contained.You don't have to carry a recharging cord (you don't need access to an outlet) and it flips around into it's own "case" so there's no case or pouch to carry around. As such, it's a good, very compact Braun shaver (with trimmer) and you sure can't beat the price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Average Shaver at Best
I brought this after using a Norelco Rotary for years, and found this disappointing.I need to use a razor to touch up what this shaver misses, and I have to work at shaving with this razor. It is small and compact and uses standard batteries with little power drain. It is probably best used for a travel razor, but you won't like it as your daily shaver. It will not cut light hairs, and works best on heavy thick beards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Braun shaver
This battery-operated shaver shaves as well as my new Norelco rotary razor that retails for about $100 more. The Braun gives a great, quick shave and is incredibly easy to use.I keep mine in my desk drawer at work and plan on buying another for my travelling shave kit, since it's much smaller and lighter than my regular Norelco razor. My only complaint is that it does not do well with long hairs (e.g., I had difficulty shaving a 3-day beard with it). That being said, for ocassional touch-up or regular use (with 1-day beard growth), it certainly can't be beat at this price -- given that it costs less than just the replacement blades alone for a corded/rechargeable razor. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not going to do that again.
:(I have sensitive skin. This lotion has a irritating "cold burning" sensation.Yay menthol.I didn't get a close shave and i didn't want to shave with it because it felt like the razor was dragging across my irritated skin.

I was going to return my shaver until I tried the HQ170.

The HQ170 moisturizing shaving lotion is much more comfortable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product, protects skin and smells good!
This product combines perfect with my Norelco advantega razor.I have very sensitive skin and this gel makes mine very smooth so when I shave it doesn't irritates my face and to be honest, this has been my all time problem. With the Norelco advantage and this gel, my problems are gone.I trully recommend it.

The only down I found on this product is that it doesn't last to much shaves. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST SHAVE EVERPERIOD.....................................
I just received my Norelco 7845XL.I can't believe how close this shaves.THROW AWAY THE BRAUNS AND ANY OTHER FOIL SHAVERS!
I started shaving with a Norelco. The 710RL was my first and it must have lasted for ten years when it finally stopped. Then I heard how much closer the Braun foil shaved. It did!But it was slower to cover all the areas of your face.Well, I've had three within the last five years upgrading each time.My last the 3612 just went haywire and stopped charging.I should of known better. It's made in China.

NOW FOR THE NORELCO QUADRA! THIS IS NOT LIKE MY OLD NORELCO.
I HAVE NEVER HAD A SHAVE THIS CLOSE!!!THIS FAST!!!THIS QUIET!!!PERIOD!!!
THE FLOATING HEADS AND REFLEX ACTION IN COMBINATION WITH THE HOLES AND THE SLOTS WORK.IT GLIDES ALONG YOUR FACE WITH HARDLY PRESSING AGAINST YOUR SKIN.IT RINSES UNDER HOT WATER.THE 7845XL HAS TWO LED LIGHTS ONE THAT BLINKS GREEN WHEN THE CHARGE IS FULL AND ONE THAT LIGHTS UP RED WHEN THE CHARGE IS LOW.THERE ARE THREE OF THESE QUADRAS. THIS ONE IS IN THE MIDDLE.BUT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME RAZOR EXCEPT FOR THE LED FEATURES.MAKE SURE YOUR CHARGE THE FIRST TIME FOR FOUR HOURS. IT HAS A 60 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE AND A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. MADE IN HOLLAND THIS SHAVER EVEN LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE A QUALITY PRODUCT.I BOUGHT MINE FROM DRUGSTORE.COM WITH FREE 3 DAY SHIPPING AND GOT IT IN TWO.

LOOK NO FURTHER THIS IS IT!!!NORELCO, I'M BACK FOR GOOD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Smoooooth
Best cordless shaver I have ever owned. I always bought Remingtons before. You can tell the difference as soon as you pick it up. The Hummer of shavers.

4-0 out of 5 stars good shave; don't like the power switch
The 7825XL, 7845XL, 7865XL and 7885XL models are all basically the same razor, differing only in the way they display battery/chargingstatus (anywhere from 1 LED to a complete tiny LCD display). The shaving peformance is fine for me -- not as close as a wet shave but that's a good thing for me personally because the closeness of wet shaves makes my face break out.Every 3-7 years I buy a new Norelco and they get incrementally better each time.

I'm writing to warn about one feature.Every shaver I'd had up to this one had a physical slider switch to turn it on and off. This models has a push button. This means you can't tell BY TOUCH whether it's on or off. This is critical for me because I usually shave in the car (sitting in traffic) with the stereo blaring and I can't hear the shaver (especially since the newer models are pretty quiet).I turn it on and off a lot as traffic conditions change.

Further, when the battery is low, my previous shavers would just run slower and slower until they came to a gradual stop. This one slows slightly (imperceptably to me, really) and then just "falls off the cliff" and stops cold.So you don't get any warning really that it's about to run out -- if I knew it was running down, then I'd shave a lot faster!

And this is where the tactile power switch feedback is important:if the battery's totally drained, but I'm not done yet, I'll leave it off for a minute and then turn it on for 5-10 seconds of shaving before it dies again. With the push-button power control this is really confusing because you're never really sure what's on and off.It turns out the the power button is like a pulse that gets sent to an internal microcontroller (I'm guessing), so after it's been off for a while the power "position" doesn't matter, it's really off.You just push to reboot the thing.

So, my 7825XL was robbed out of my car last night and I'm buying another one of these, so I guess that's an endorsement. But I'm bumping up to the next higher model with better battery status indication ...

5-0 out of 5 stars replacement heads
I got this product for my brother who has eczema and had trouble with previous razors tearing at his skin.He loves this one![...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, very impressed
I have been hesitant about purchasing an electric shaver, but I finally took the plunge on this one and have been very impressed. The unit is good to hold in your hands, it cuts without plucking, and contours to the face very well. I can shave everyday with little / no irritation (granted this is only day 2) - as opposed to a blade that I can only handle every other day. It cleans easily. You will have to experiment a little bit with direction and motion to make sure you get all the hair on your neck / chin. Take the same time as shaving with a blade, if not less, and provider equivalent shave.

Remington produced the world’s first electric shaver in 1937, and continues to be a leader in shaving technology. Titanium is the company’s latest break-through. When coated with titanium, blades stay sharper longer than stainless steel for an extra close, comfortable shave. Ergonomically designed with no-slip insets, this model features three ultra-flexing round heads that float independently to hug face and neck contours. Moreover, the heads are ultra-thin, which allows the blades to get as close to the skin as possible. A nifty one-inch trimmer pops up to define sideburns, mustaches, and necklines. An added benefit of this razor is that it can be used either with the 5-foot stretch cord or without, and features quick charge. A one-hour quick charge provides 40 minutes of shaving time, while a five-minute charge is enough for one shave. This model features a green light that indicates the shaver is either charging or charged. A red low-battery light indicates approximately five minutes of shaving time remains. Cleaning this razor is a breeze--squeeze the release buttons to flip up the head attachment, then blow, brush, or rinse out any stubble. A cleaning brush is included, along with a zippered, padded carry pouch and protective head guard. The shaver automatically converts to other voltages worldwide, making it great for travel. Remington covers the shaver with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a two-year warranty against defects.--Ann Bieri ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk
If it cuts a whisker it is by mistake, its much better at pulling them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Well!
Had mine for at least a year - works well, good battery life. Does not cut thick sideburns, however - mine jammed and had to have it replaced under warranty.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent
I've had this for about a year and it's held up for that long so I guess it's decent.Never had any problems with it but it isn't anything special. It doesn't work well on really thick hair, thatis my only problem with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value
For the current deals on Amazon (I got mine for $30), its an excellent shaver. This is my first electric shaver ever, and I was a little concerned about my skin...however, it was not that bad. The titanium blades are very effective and noise levels are acceptable.
On the con side, I think its not the best at shaving stubble below the chin. Also incessant attempts can cause rashes on your neck.
Overall, I think its a very good buy for such low prices.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible for your skin. Bad judgement on my part.
I bought this razor because i expected remington razors to preform. When i received this product my first experinace was horrid. First time i shaved with it, it left rashes, scratched and injured skin on my neck. I have never had razor burns that bad. My mach 3 is just so much better then this terrible product. I reccommend against buying this product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST RAZOR I EVER HAD
I received the 8595 Braun Activator Model for my birthday and secretly thought that all its printed features were pure hype.
How surprized I was when I actually started shaving with this model.

Informatively, since I am retired it is not necessary for me to shave every day, and since I do not really find it pleasureable to shave, especially with the maintenance, etc., that comes in different forms, I skip many days and shave when only when necessary.

My last shaver was the Panasonic wet/dry rechargeable Shaver, for which I paid close to 250 dollars and found lacking all the hype that went on in advertisisng this shaver. It took forever to complete a shave, but since I had some old Norelco models, I would at times use 2 razors to complete the job.

Now for the 8595 Braun Activator:Following closely the instructions which recommeded that the face be dry and to shave prior to washing,it did away with the Pre-Electric lotions that have increased in price. So, with Shaver in hand I commence shaving and notice that it is the closest shave I have ever had with an electric razor. Now comes the best part: No use running hot water over the shaver head, as in the case of the Panasonic Shaver, I had to use liquid soap in the cleaning when Shaver indicated cleaning, and there was an indicator for recharging. With my 8595 model Braun, when I finish shaving I place the shaver in the station and it automatically does all the rest. When setting up the shaver for first use, there is a cleaning cartridge that is inserted into the station. One just follows the instructions. The cleaning cartridge should last about a month and sells for about 5 dollars each. No other stuff is needed. It is recommeded to shave daily. So when the cartridge is inserted and the station is connected to an ac outlet, you just shave and return the razor into the station and as advertised it automatically does the rest.

The shaver automatically adusts when one uses the sideburn trimmer, etc.

Regarding the cleaning cartridge as mentioned above, if it is used daily it lasts 30 days, if not used daily it should last
approximately 8 weeks.

So here it is:Cleaning and lubrication plus re-charging the battery is all done automatically as advertised.

I am very satisfied with this Razor and now shaving is just as simple as I have always wished it would be.

I highly recommend this shaver. This from an individual that has gone through many a shaver, hoping for the best, but disappointed in actual performance.

Lastly, I would have added a few more stars in addition to the five stars in the rating.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now A True Believer!
I have sensitive skin and have been trying all kinds of shavers over the years looking for a good shave without irritation.I ended up going through a few rotary-based solutions, but found they did not do a good job, took a long time to shave, and ended up irritating my skin.It was depressing. Then I saw the ad for the 8595 and the technology looked impressive.I went for the gold and bought the best.IT WAS WORTH IT!A great shave, quickly and thoroughly with no irritation!I will never go back, from now on its Braun for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great shaver--even at the price
I have used a cheap Remington for a number of years and was getting tired of the irritation and occasional nicks, so I figured it was time to give a new shaver a try.I saw a rave review of this shaver in a Men's magazine, thought the self-cleaning thing was a bit gimmicky, but decided to take the plunge.

All I can say is "Wow"!Of course, going from a $39 razor to a ~$200 razor is probably not a good comparison, but here are my observations:

1. It really doesn't shave as close as my Remington did.Of course, that means that my neck is no longer nicked and beet-red after a shave.I consider this a plus.

2. The self-cleaning thing is not a gimmick. It rocks!I discovered how good it is when I went out of town for a week. The base isn't sealed, so you can't travel with it--no worries though, the shaver comes with a brush, and the cord plugs directly into the shaver as well as into the base.Well, after a couple of days of just using the brush to clean it, I found that the shave just wasn't as comfortable.I don't know if it was oil from my skin building up, or just my imagination; however, once I got home and cycled it through the cleaner, it was as good (and comfortable) as new.Note that the cleaning fluid is a lubricant (supposedly) mixed with denatured alcohol and it works.Popping open the top reveals an immaculate interior, even after having not cleaned it for five shaves.

3. Blue LED's suck. The LED on the base of the shaver could light your entire house. Can you say "Black Sharpie"?

4. The self-cleaning cycle is not something you want to do at night (note that you initiate it manually, so you can control this). It runs the shaver to assist in the cleaning process and is a bit on the noisy side.Especially because it's intermittent. It will be quiet for 5 minutes, then suddenly run the razor for 15 seconds.

5. Battery life isn't really what I expected. At six to seven minutes per shave, it consumes (at least based on the graphic on the LCD panel) about 20% of the battery. Not a show-stopper, more of an observation.

6. NO MORE SHAVING WITH A RAZOR!!One of the annoying "features" of my Remington was if I skipped shaving for a couple of days, my beard would be too long for the Remington to pick up.Because of this, I would have to shave with a razor.Braun addresses this by having a "long hair cutter" (if you will) in the center of the shaving head.It really works!

7. The swivel head thing is pretty cool.It really does work and isn't annoying like I expected it to be.

8. Lifespan of the cleaning cartridge is a bit short.I get between a month and a month-and-a-half out of a cartridge before I have to replace it.Note that the shaver doesn't "use" the fluid up through the cleaning process per se.It is recycled back into the cartridge, along with your whiskers. When it sucks the fluid back up, it is through a filter. This means that the loss of fluid is due to evaporation exclusively, so the whole "Eco" clean thing is a bit hoaky.

Overall I am very pleased with the shaver and have recommended it to a couple of my friends. At $200, it's a bit pricy, but with some of the deals Amazon has been running, it comes down quite a bit.I would consider it a steal at $100 and reasonable at $150.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Shave!
I have very sensitive skin that get horrible razor bumps after shaving.I have tried everything including other dry shavers. While the other dry shavers did not irritate my skin like a blade does they never worked good for my hair.I saw this model and read some reviews so decided to give it a try.It worked great.A nice clean shave and NO irritation!

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, Back To My Braun Syncro 7570
After years of shaving with my Braun Syncro 7570, an amazing razor by all accounts, I was looking forward to trying out the new top of the line Activator.Improvements over the Syncro I was hoping for included the same great shave with even less irritation (the Syncro head gets hot after about 2 min.'s causing some irritation), a cleaning base that didn't give off as much of a smell while cleaning, a more sturdy foil (everyone I know that has a Syncro regularly has a foil chip every couple of months which causes instant shaving irritation which requires going out and buying a new foil/cutter for $25-$30), and fewer irritating blinking lights on the razor while cleaning/charing.

After using the Activator for two straight months I can say that for me, without question, the razor does not shave as close as the Syncro. The Activator is marginally more comfortable, however I think the greater comfort comes from a shave that isn't as close. While I know every beard is different, honestly, I can't believe that only a few other reviewers have had this problem, the difference between the Syncro and Activator is quit noticeable. While the cleaning base station does have less of a smell, there are more blinking lights on the razor that stay on even after cleaning - like a Disney light show - at least with my Syncro I can make the lights go off by removing the charging arm when done cleaning/charging.

Braun is out with a new, sturdier foil/cutter block for the Syncro 7000 series so I'm sticking with it.I haven't tried the new foil yet since my old one is still kicking, but my advice is this:if you think the Activator is the best razor you've ever used, get yourself a Braun Syncro (the last update was the 7680) with one of the new foil/cutter block assemblies and you'll find yourself with an even better shave. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Works great on husband's back.
I can't stand using this thing on my legs because it hurts way too much. But I started using it on my husband's back hair about a year ago. It quickly tears all of his back hair in less than 10 minutes. I can't say that it isn't painless for him. Actually, I kind of enjoy making him squirm. We only need to use it about once a month to keep him completely smooth. Unlike the other reviews, I can't say that his back hair has decreased or become more fine with use, but I can say that it works better than any other device we've tried and us much cleaner than sugars and waxes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Would pay hundred of $$ for this.
This is my third epilator.I can't imagine removing hair any other way.It removes hair better than waxing..with the convenience of shaving.I use it for underarms, legs and bikini line.Yes, the first time is painful, but after that its smooth sailing. The Emjoi can remove very short hairs. If I can see a hair, I can remove it. With waxing, you have to wait until the hairs get long enough, and them you don't get 100% of them.I've been using this device for over a year, and haven't gotten the ingrown hairs that I got my older epilators. The shape is easy to hold and use.Stop shaving, stop waxing..but this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT
This hair remover is great because it removes the hair faster and with less passes over the same area.I remove hair on my legs and arms and this does it faster and neater than the other emjoy units I have.

4-0 out of 5 stars No More Razors
Although my 1st review was basically saying how much it hurt and that after I was finally done removing the hair I was very pleased with the results. That was last night when I wrote it, but this morning is a different story. I'm feeling soreness and its still showing redness. Maybe its because I didn't put anything afterwards to soothe the skin after having hair being pulled out like that.I also wanted to mention that during the hair removal process I was bleeding from the hair being riped out. I could have been holding the machine wrong. Nonetheless which ever way I tried to hold it I still bled until I pulled out all the hairs and then it stop.I still like this product and I'm hoping that with more uses the pain will lessen with each hair removal process.

4-0 out of 5 stars No More Razors
I received this product a few days ago. I used it for the first time tonight. First, I must say that I am not too fond of the shape and design. But I worked with it. The first place I used this Emjoi Optima was on my underarms. IT WAS PAINFUL. On a scale of 1-10 I gave the pain a 20. I had to stop and start over and over again. I didn't even have that much hair because I had shaved just a couple of days before I decided to use this product. Less hair does not necessary mean less pain. For me the pain was just unbearable. It took me1 1/2 hours just to do under both underarms. After I was done with both armpits I was VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND THAT THE PAIN WAS WORTH IT. IT REMOVED ALL THE HAIRS. I will never use a razor on my underarms again. This product is it for me. This was my main focus. Shaving with a razor just didn't remove all the hairs and the more I tried to shave it the more the bumps would appear from shaving. I just hope that by using this product no more bumps will show up and that I will just have smooth soft underarms. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great clipper
I was sort of reading mixed reviews on this clipper, so I was nervous about ordering but i'm real glad I did. Some of the poor reviewers were saying that it pulled hair and it hurt and this and that.Well thats a bunch of garbage.I have REALLY thick hair (I'm russian).I didn't have any problem whatsoever with any pain or pulling. It cut very nicely and easily.I only cut my hair once so far so i'll update this after more cuts... but as of now I am VERY satisfied with this clipper!

5-0 out of 5 stars Power
Great Unit! The power alone makes it a steal, the accessories make it wonderful!Wahl has the history, they're quality in terms of power and reliabilty have helped them stay in business against the cheaper producers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Give yourself a crewcut
After much shilly-shallying, I took the plunge and bought this set several months ago -- and for me, at least, it's worked out extremely well.I've been saving a bundle on regular haircuts by cutting my own hair; it's amazingly easy and also saves me time, as it takes just a few minutes to do.Note -- this is important -- that I keep my hair short all around (maybe a tad longer in the front), basically crewcut length, so there's not much art to cutting it.I started out, somewhat nervously, using the #8 black plastic attachment (which leaves hair the longest), but now use the #6.I simply stand in my bathtub (a DRY bathtub, needless to say; you want somewhere for the cut hair to fall that'll be easy to clean up) and clip my hair all around, occasionally looking in a cheap, light suction-cup mirror that I stick to the bathroom wall, but mainly doing it by touch. Now, it's possible that my friends have been lying to me or snickering behind my back, but -- at least to my face -- they all say they think my hair looks great.I have no idea how hard or easy it would be to cut hair if it were long and/or wavy; perhaps that would take more skill than I possess. But for my purposes, this electric clipper has been a great decision and has already paid for itself many times over.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied
Bought to cut my own hair while in school.I have wavey hair, but the clippers work really easily. No pulling.I was careful the first haircut (took me close to 40 minutes), but it turned out really well.Don't hesitate to buy.Take your time trimming. It helps to have a small, handheld mirror and/or someone to make sure you trim the back evenly.

5-0 out of 5 stars This clipper pays for itself
I use this clipper set to trim my husband's very short hair. He used to go to a stylist who charged him $25 a cut.Because his ideal cut is very close all around, he needed to get a new cut every 4 weeks or so, and those fees really add up quickly. We finally cut the cord with the stylist and bought a home clipper set.

The clipper is powerful and does not get too warm. It is easy to use and the included video makes it easy to learn to cut hair. I haven't attempted any of the more complicated cuts, we just use a Number One comb all over my husband's head and clean up the edges without any comb at all. However, we do find all the accessories to be very useful; the brush for cleaning the clippers, the lubricating oil, and the brush for sweeping stray hairs off the neck. Occasionally I use the shears to trim the hair around his ears, too. The kit also has a mirror and a plastic apron, which are helpful to have.

You really could use this kit to get started with all kinds of cuts, and Wahl is a good brand for clippers. If you are looking to get started even just occasionally, this is a great kit to have. With what we've saved in hair styling fees, this kit paid for itself a long time ago. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A real step backward in shaving for Norelco
I sent this to Norelco and asked that it be passed on to the engineering and marketing people who created this product.

I hate this razor!I used to have a 5814XL that finally died.It was one of many Norelco razors that I have had for over 35 years. When I needed to replace the 5814XL, I bought the 8825XL and after using it for 7 months, have come to despise its ability to provide a close shave. Here are my comments on that deficiency as well as others:

1.Even right out of the box, this shaver did not provide as close a shave as the old 5814XL.
2.I suspect that in order to make it easy to clean, the cutting mechanism was modified to emphasize chopping the hairs up very finely. In fact, I observe that the debris is indeed smaller than in the 5814XL.Unfortunately it is so small that it falls out of the holes in the cutter heads thereby making a mess in the bathroom.I think this may have compromised the ability of the 8825XL to shave close.
3.The removal of the AC-DC converter from the shaver body to the cord is a mistake.
4.The cord becomes unwieldy to store especially in the pouch. The converter plug is so heavy, it falls out of any socket that is a bit loose. This is especially a problem when shaving with the cord attached.
5.The cord with its huge plug does not coil well. The presence of the plug prevents the cord from being curled into any sort of small ball.In fact, the stiffness and direction of the exit of the cord from the plug prevents the cord from being even closely wound around the plug. This means that the cord and plug have effectively become twice as large.
6.Presumably the point of removing the AC-DC converter to the plug was to reduce the size of the shaver body. This was probably due to some styling guys wanting a "sexy" shape. The shape is also a problem. The shaver wants to tip over when stored on a shelf on its back.Clearly the engineers noted this and added the two vestigial bumps on the back. That this was an afterthought is clear since the bumps are so small - the result of ensuring that the plastic housing ejected easily from the mold during production.
7.The adjustment wheel does not stay in the N position. There is not enough friction to maintain that setting. It constantly wants to move toward the S position.
8.The desire to have the head on a hinge has also caused problems. The detent that holds the hinge in the shaver body is not big enough.Sometimes when I open the head to clean it, the spring action of the hinge and the smallness of the detent result in the head actually flipping off of the shaver.Once this resulted in all of the head guts coming out.As a result, I am no longer sure that the cutters are matched up.However, do not attribute the lack of closeness of shave to this happening. It did not shave close even before the head popped off.
9.Since you have designed the head to flip open, the plastic cover that protects the head during storage no longer has threefold symmetry. As a result one has to look to see that the cover is oriented correctly. That is really dumb!
10.The detents on the protective cover are not strong enough. The cover wants to pop off particularly when you try to put the shaver in the storage pouch.
11.The storage pouch that provided is hard to use.It appears to be too small, although I think this would not be the case if the protective head cover were more secure and if the cord coiled more neatly with the huge plug.

I have now purchased a Norelco 6863XL.It works really well and I am pleased. Therefore, please note that the combination of marketing and styling has really worked to the detriment of function in your more top-of-the-line shavers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Happy After Two Years
I bought an 8825XL about two years ago. Prior to that I had used Brauns for many years. I am very happy with my Norelco.
I kept buying Braun razors because, when new, they give a very nice shave. The problem, for me, was that the shave quality deteriorated quickly because the foils in the head are so darned delicate. So I would buy a new Braun andin about 3 months it would need a new foil. But, of course, I didn't really want to put out the $30 quite that often so I would go for months with a poor shave. I would usually buy new foil and blade when I started getting nicked up. I bought the Braun with the cleaning system, thinking that taking the cleaning out of human hands would fix it. Didn't work that way, though. I was getting a little more out of a foil but I was paying $5 per month for the juice.
Anyway, I gave up and bought this Norelco. The first shave was _very_ nice. Just as good as a new Braun. And now, two years later, I have still not bought a blade set for it. The shaves are at least 90% as comfortable as when new.
The Norelco has been reliable and it is easy to clean. Once every couple of months I take the heads apart and clean the blades with alcahol. My wife commented on how quiet it was the first time I used it.
But maybe the problems with the Braun are just me. Maybe other Braun users have mastered the trick of handling it without messing up the shave quality. I'm sticking with my Norelco.

1-0 out of 5 stars Try Remington Smart System Titanium Instead
The instructions advise you to wait until the batteries are almost depleted before charging (to preserve battery life). That's fine, except for the fact that there is no battery gauge. Are you supposed to wait until the shaver stops and then wait 6 minutes for a quick charge? Poor design and poor shave to boot.

4-0 out of 5 stars a good shaver
I had been using a Norelco Reflex series razor for about 1 1/2 years when I decided to advance to the 8825XL Spectra. First thing I noticed was that the Spectra shaved my neck area much better than the Reflex...and my neck hair is really tough to shave close, since it sort of grows sideways.

I also LOVE the fact that I can just rinse the Spectra under warm water to clean the blades and heads...it's so much more convenient than using a brush with the Reflex.

The comfort control is a nice feature...it doesn't really seem to affect the shave per se, but the more sensitive settings do make the shave more comfortable, which I like since I have pretty sensitive skin.

3-0 out of 5 stars flimsy
Nicer features, but much less robust construction than Norelcos of earlier years -- plastic and very thin metal in critical areas. This one has lasted me barely a year, while previous shavers lasted 5-10. ... Read more

A three-position trimmer, coated with titanium for superior strength and cutting ability, pops up to work in tandem with the screens, or alone to quickly trim a beard or mustache. This model features sixty minutes of running time. A green light indicates the shaver is either charging or charged. Cleaning the razor after each shave is simple. Just squeeze the two release buttons, pull off the head, and blow, brush, or rinse out any stubble. A cleaning brush is included, along with a zippered, padded carry pouch, protective head guard, and a removable cord that stretches to about five feet. 3-0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest, Not the worst
The Remington MS3-1700 falls shorts of being a superb razor. The manual states that your face may take up to 2 weeks to become "used" to the new shaver. After having this razor for over a year now I must admit that my face is anything but used to the razor. However, that is not to say that the razor isn't completely useless.

Positives:
- The blades don't pull at the hairs like other razors tend to
- The positioning of the blades and the trimmer works well for thicker facial hair
- The trimmer by itself is useful for cutting longer hairs in preparation for a closer shave or as a beard trimmer (why have two electronics when one will do)
- With regular blade changes the razor can provide decently close shaves (nothing beats a straight edge though)

Negatives
- Limited battery (I could never get more than two shaves off one charge)
- The razor won't shave when plugged in (I'm still uncertain how this design ever passed... it just doesn't make sense)
- The razor doesn't give the best shaves (there are better other cordless shavers on the market)
- The razor simply can't shave longer hairs as they won't slip into the screen (the trimmer helps this problem but the combination of trimmer and screen can leave you with painful razor burn)

All in all, the Remington has one big selling point and that is its low cost. However, the entire point of an electric razor is to give a convenient and close shave and this razor simply doesn't provide that if you have a thick beard or let your hairs get to long. If you're just looking for a cheap decent razor to get you by on a trip then this works perfectly. However, for men looking for a razor to use consistently to stay groomed I would suggest looking elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Titanium?Kinda sorta
Don't be misled like I was on this shaver. The only titanium on it is a titanium coating on the pop-up trimmer -- there's no titanium on the shaver's foil cutters. The trimmer is supposed to work in combination with the cutters.Per the manual, "Your new Remington shaver provides a close, comfortable shave on your entire face, even on the tough spots like your neck and chin.Simply engage the special Titanium-coated trimmer blades so they are aligned with the shaver foils."Excuse me?If I wanted to shave my face with an electric trimmer, I'd use my haircutting trimmer. And shaving with a trimmer ain't exactly "comfortable".The shaver does a POOR job without using the trimmer in combination with the foil.Shaving with the foil alone leaves lots of long hairs that just wont enter the screen no matter how many passes I make, unlike _orelco products.Had I known this from the start I'd have just bought another _orelco.

Further, the MS3-1700 IS NOT worldwide voltage, regarless of what amazon says.It is a single votage model (120 VAC, 60Hz), again per the manual. Finally, the cordless only feature mentioned elsewhere is a hassle. If you run out of juice on the battery halfway through a shave your out of luck since it will not run off of the cord.

With all that said, by using the trimmer/foil combo technique suggested, this shaver does give a nice close shave, perhaps even closer than the _orelco.And if you don't like it, Remington has a supposed 30 day money back guarantee.

Even with all it's drawbacks, I'm still satisfied with it and will probably keep it.The price sure is right.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Shaver - Minor Drawbacks
I've had a lot of luck with Remington in the past, so I stuck with them when I could not obtain replacement cutters for my XLR-810.

The biggest problem with this shaver has already been mentioned - you can't shave while it's plugged in. I really dislike the rechargeables because the battery dies after about 5-6 years, and it cannot be replaced.

Another problem is the shape of the actual unit. I have relatively large hands and find this shaver to be a little small. It's slick, tapered body makes it difficult to hold. It has a tendency to "squirt" upward out of my hand, and as a result I've nearly dropped it on a few occasions. Remington (Rayovac) - please go back to your old square designs!

Other than those flaws, this shaver is quite good.
1. The trimmer is in the right place, directly alongside the foils, instead of popping out of the middle of the unit, like the poor Braun designs.
2. I have a very strong jaw line and find that this shaver does a decent job of getting the whiskers in the difficult places.
3.The charge is supposed to last 60 minutes, but I have found that it lasts a fair bit longer, although, the speed of the cutters slows considerably.
4. And, being able to wash the cutters with water after each use is very practical.

Overall, I recommend it to anyone who doesn't care that it is essentially disposable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good shaver, but.......
......you cannot use it while it is recharging.IMO, this is a drawback to the shaver, though perhaps not enough to dissuade a potential buyer from purchasing one as it works very well. The pop-up trimmer does a fine job for long hair. For the current $39 price(I paid $50+), I think you will have a hard time beating the value this shaver presents overall.

Overall, it is highly receommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Shaver Okay
My only complaint about this shaver is that it doesn't work when plugged in to the power/while recharging. If you drain the battery and need to shave, you have to wait for it to recharge.

It's got a nice popup trimmer that you can use along with the blades to pre-cut any long hairs before going into the blades.

The included pleather pouch is a bit small to hold the razor and charging cable.Includes a little brush too.

Overall - I give it 4 stars for the price and only because Amazon has them for $40 including shipping. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Replace Them Every Year
It may seem like an unnecessary expense, but replacing your razor's heads every year is the best thing you can do. After 365 shaves, the blades do start to dull, even though no physical wear is evident. Replacing the heads gives you a fresh start so that you can experience the closest and most comfortable shave possible. ... Read more

Gold-plated foils and titanium-coated trimmers give this rechargeable razor the edge over others when it comes to a comfortable, close shave--wet or dry. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great product for legs...
So I waited until I had very long and thick leg hair before I used this shaver the first time (on Monday). It took me about 10-15 minutes to totally shave it off (very easily and without any nicks or hair-pulling).It says to use the shaver every day for the first 3 weeks so that your skin gets used to it etc, and so I did shave again for the next 3 days. No problems at all, today (friday) I went out early and so I didn't shave even though I should have. Now in the early evening, my legs have a slight stubble that you can feel but barely see.I am a natural redhead so any coarse hairs end up being bright orange when they are long enough to see, and always have a "glow" to them even when just starting out as stubble and you can't see the color too much yet.

Anyways, it's been 5 days, the shaver works great on my legs, tried it once on my underarms and did yet some cuts/abrasions but I have a lot of little bumps located there and could understand why it happened.I prefer to just shave with a blade underarm since it is so easy and quick anyways. I have another Remington product that has the 5 adapter heads that I use for my bikini area and other small trimming stuff so I won't review it for that but it seems to work great (as other reviews say as well) and for something with a 2 year warranty, you can't really beat that...

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
This is the best shaver I have ever used! I don't shave very often but when I do I always have problems with the shaver (The regular kind).. My skin is very sensitive so I always get real itchy after using a shaver and I sometimes get nicks and cuts. So I have been looking for a good shaver for a long time and decided on trying an electric one this time.. Another problem I have is my legs get swollen real bad sometimes and I can't shave them because the itching or cuts etc. get real bad during that time. But when I got this shaver I wasn't expecting to much out of it but I was definitely amazed with it's performance. I read and did the instructions it gave me and it was the best shave I had ever had in years! It did not hurt, pull, itch or cut my skin in any way and was very smooth and it was just wonderful and what amazed me even more was that my legs were swollen when I used it and it never hurt me and I got a real close shave without any problems. I have been using it dry but I'm planing on using it with my skin wet next time just to try it. Also I have used it when my legs were not swollen and it was just as good. I'm so happy to have a shaver that does not give me any problems. It's really wonderful and easy to clean. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazed!
Here is a women's electric shaver that actually works, whether wet or dry. It's the first one I've used that comes close to blade smoothness.I particularly like the small recharging stand, and the fact that the shaver arrived charged.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not satisfied!
This was not my first Remmington shaver, but after going through 3 Smooth and Silky Plus Shavers and a Smooth and Silky Ultra (none of which lasted longer than 6-7 months with normal everyday use), it will most likely be my last. While I liked the shaver and it didn't cause skin irritation like regular razors, I find it VERY irritating that I have to plunk down anywhere from $45-$60 every six months for a new one because the motor dies! These are not disposable razors but they are produced to be such!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This is a great little shaver!I'm so glad that I decided to purchase it over others.I'm a stay-at-home mom with a 2 year old, so I don't have time to stay in the shower to shave.I just take my shower real quick, put on some shorts, and sit on the floor in the living room and shave my legs!My son thinks it's wonderful, too!It works really well, no cuts to worry about, and it cleans up easily.I find that for me, it works better out of the shower than in. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my number 1 all over do.
Im probably not the best person to review this complete haircut kit as I literally shave my head short (number 1) all over. However for this persom they are great. They feel very well made and durable. They are extremely sharp and not having to oil them is a very welcome feature. They hold their charge well enough. As for the other 21 pieces in the set I can really comment as I wont be using them but they look of a decent quality. Shame remington cannot introduce a stand alone clipper set without all the fancy accessories for a cheaper price for those who just buzz cut though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nervously awaiting delivery.
Read the bad reviews - but took a chance anyway. What a SUPERB
Clipper with a full load of accessories. I used the power cord immediately and it is very quiet - and smoothe, no jerking hair
and effortless to use. Gave myself (tricky using a mirror) a
super trim job all around. Stunned by how smoothe and EFFORTLESS
it was using it. Fantastic 23pc set. My BARBER has a noisy noisy
thing he used on my head - that raised all kind of XXXX ---jerking out hair as it nearly stalled at times. Here I did my own hair and it looks darn good --with NOT EVEN ONE PULL! Many
many years ago I bought CLIPPERS and they were terrible - snat-
ching hair out by the roots. This REMINGTON CLIPPER is fantastic
smoothe and quiet and worth every penny. With this unit ANYBODY can be a Barber in about an hour. I RECOMMEND this product 100
percent - and love the "adventure" of cutting my own hair - and
saving money!Jack (and I'm 72)

1-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected!
When used with anything but the one inch attachment it badly pulls hair. Even the scissors and trimmer are dull.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chromed and sharp for the chrome dome
Simply put, these clippers work great.I really don't know what a couple of the other reviewers have been talking about. My hair is particularly thick, and the clippers run through it like a knife through warm butter. The cordless option is fantastic.Though it is indeed a bit less powered than when plugged into an outlet, it worked well enough for me to cut my hair standing in the tub so that the hair clippings did not fall all around the bathroom.Let's run through the summary:

PROS
-light, very light...so it's easily maneuverable.
-very quiet.
-comes with a bunch of different size groomers and trimmers for varying lengths.I have opted to go near bald sometimes and otherwise chosen to leave my hair pretty long in other cases. It worked well in both instances.
-cordless.

CONS
-really, I can't think of one.If hard-pressed, I might suggest a better storage box for all the trimmers and accessories that it comes in. But quite frankly, you get two brushes to clean the trimmers, a bunch of varying length attachments, and a storage bag.

All in all, this is a terrific clippers and a great value.Frankly, the only thing that irks me is that the price has come down 5 bucks since I bought mine 6 months ago. But, the price was still low in the first place, so what's the deal.

UPDATE: I am lowering the review to 4 stars. The clippers are still pretty nice, but they lose their sharpness very very quickly.I am in talks with Remington to figure out a way to resolve this problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars "YEOOOOOOOOOW!!!"
That was the scream of my husband when getting his hair cut by this new set of clippers. Our old one finally died after 5 years (a different brand) so I tried to research some clippers.I saw Remington seemed to have only a slightly higher rating than others so I thought we'd go for that one.

The only pro? It's whisper quiet, he didn't even know it was on...

...until wads of his hair were getting ripped from his scalp. He likes his hair short (less than 1/2") and we had to whittle using the 1/2" attachment which made him wince and then again with the 3/8" and 1/4" attachments to get it even all over.I was literally sweating I was so nervous cutting his hair because he was obviously in pain. This is going back PRONTO and I'm sure I'll be reviewing another brand...hopefully a positive one! ... This product is one of the best of its type I have used, and it was one of the most reasonable priced. It cuts your hair clean with no pulling or cutter problems. It also comes with a clipper blade for cutting ear/sideburns/eyebrow hair, so you get two blades for the price of one.One great feature is you can wash the cutting head when finished. 5-0 out of 5 stars First time in 30 years......
Over the last 30 years I've tried 4 or 5 electric shavers. I always had to trash it as it either irritated my skin or pulled the hairs out instead of cutting them out. The Braun 8595 is great! It took several days to get used to, but it has performed like no other. I have used the ole blade once or twice simply because I was on the road and failed to pack my new shaver. I don't forget it anymore. I especially like the cleaning each time I use it. Makes me feel that it maintains that sanitary condition.

5-0 out of 5 stars Use on a Braun 7526
Has anyone tried using the 8000 series foil on one of the older 7526 series shavers ? Will it fit ?

5-0 out of 5 stars Pricey but worth it
The manufacturer recommends replacing the foil screen and cutter block every 18 months for maximum performance. I wholeheartedly agree. This cutting system seems to last a little longer than older models but it certainly doesn't last forever. While it might not be exactly at 18 months, you can readily tell that the blades are getting dull when it takes longer to shave and/or you begin experiencing skin irritation. The set is pretty expensive but Amazon.com seems to have a very competitive price (a lot cheaper than I've seen in any brick & mortar store). Having said that, it really is like getting a brand new razor each time you make the change so it's very worthwhile doing it. Not sure if you can even buy them separately, but changing both parts at the same time ensures a closer shave with less skin irritation because they work together as an integrated system. ... This electric device plucks hair from legs, face, underarms, and bikini lines to give you smooth skin for up to six weeks. It operates at two speeds to deal with different hair types and removes hairs as short as .5 mm, so it can even be effective just one day after shaving. To minimize pain, the device uses 36 high-speed, tweezerlike, gold-plated disc sets to gently stretch the skin before plucking hairs, and the head curves to fit the body. It's cordless, recharges from a wall socket, and comes with an 8-foot cord. A loofa-like pad to scrub away removed hairs, a cleaning brush for the device, and a soft, pliable, vinyl carrying bag are included. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Find
Ok, first off I do have to say, this product will hurt in more sensitive areas.I didn't have too much trouble using it on my legs, it didn't feel any worse than waxing. However, working on the underarms was quite painful. In order to avoid this, I used ice packs on that area first and then went ahead with the epilator. This seemed to cut down on the pain, and then it went very quickly after that.

Your legs will not be a smooth as they are with shaving, but you also won't get the same type of irritation and you won't need to remove the hair as frequently as with shaving.I just got tired of having to shave every other day in order to remain totally smooth.Waxing became too expensive and time consuming. This item is wonderful because I can do it at my own pace and on my own schedule. If you're planning on using this item though, be sure to exfoliate both before and after to help prevent ingrown hairs.I've had a few, but not as many as I'd get with waxing.

This product is an excellent choice for women with heavier hair growth who need to shave frequently. If you want that silky smooth you get from a razor, this one isn't for you.It does get even some of the shortest hairs, which is a nice bonus. You don't need to keep going over and over an area in order to get full hair removal.

Hope you find this helpful. It's definitely a quality products that helps to cut down on time spent shaving/waxing and does not get you irritated, which for most of us is a huge plus.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a Great Choice for Coarse Hair
After 2 years of using the Optima I decided to give this one a try, mainly because of the cordless option. I gave it a valiant effort, but it is just not powerful enough for me: it took twice the time of the Optima to get all the hair. It would likely be a worthwhile option for someone with fine or sparse hair.

5-0 out of 5 stars IT WORKS!!
This product is excellent.I've been waxing for years - expensive or if I do it myself takes ages and is messy.Shaving leaves my legs irritated and blotchy. This doesn't hurt mostly - just a little in the sensitive areas. It's so easy to use, fast too!

Love this, wish I'd found it sooner.

2-0 out of 5 stars Ex-Emjoy User
I've used Emjoy's gold epilators for years when the usual price was much higher. They sometimes caught my skin if I didn't keep it taught, some places were hard to reach with the curved head & it only seemed to get 50% of the hairs. I also had to go over the same spot over & over & over & still only get about 50% of the hairs (I'm past German/Russian/Polish which the woman are mostly fair-skinned with very dark, coarse hair.) The rechargeable battery would die out fast or not work as powerful within 6-8 months.

Braun is SOOO much better! It gets much more hairs in less times with less need to go over the same spot, LESS painful, almost nothing compared to Emjoy, it doesn't get caught on any skin. It's weird, with Emjoy, I had to hold it very tightly & push it against my skin, while Braun works better with a VERY light hold barely skimming over the skin surface.

5-0 out of 5 stars I NEVER HAVE TO SHAVE AGAIN!
I love this hair remover.I used to shave my legs every day and now I use only the Emjoi about 1 - 2 times a week.It is not at all painful. When I used to shave my legs it would itch because of the dryness it caused, but I do not have that problem now that I use the Emjoi!Highly recommend! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars happy at last
I have a pair of GE clippers that are dreadful. I have to go back with scissors to even out the mess they've left behind. I so much hated cutting my children's hair because of the pull and mess, I wait until they look like little animals. After reading all the reviews for clippers on this site, I was waffling between these Vidal Sassoon and the Andis pet clippers from petco. I got these at Target today and came right home to cut hair. They already had enough charge to test, but I hooked them to the cord(which is like a cell charger) and had my 6 yo done in no time. I am so happy with these clippers! They have the best attachments I have seen or used yet. They have longer and shorter settings. I didn't even have to use scissors on my 9 mo.I did use the scissors on my 6yo. They are nice too, not flimsy. The clippers have a nice look and feel- good control, wonderful cut, worth the money. I am delighted.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS REALLY IS A GOOD DEAL!!
I have been a stylist for 13 years.I bought these to use at home, but they worked so well I use them in my shop! They easily compare to my cordless clippers that cost over $100.00
