4-0 out of 5 stars You're supposed to replace foil every six months
If you wait a year, you might get a hole in the foil.I've used this shaver for years and haven't had any problems with holes. If I recall right, you are supposed to replace the foil every six months and the blades once a year. That would work if you could buy them separately, or pack two sets of foil with one set of blades.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great shaver but breaks the bank!
I love the shave but the infamous holes are ludicrous... I find every month a new hole appears in the foil, can never find a foil only replacement so get conned into buying cutters I don't need. Budget $7 a month for foil replacement if you buy this shaver!

3-0 out of 5 stars Holes for me too!
I bought one of the microscreens and shortly it developed the infamous hole and cut my face everytime I used it.Couldn't find any replacement screens anywhere so I removed the blade from beneath the screen with the hole.Have been using it like that for about a year now.It still scrapes a bit but no more cuts :)

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a good deal, and you need the replacements anyway
I recently purchased these replacements because the screen developed a small hole and started to cut my face. This happens to everyone, but come on, that happened to me after A YEAR of using the shaver and this is the first time I bought replacements (shaving about 2 times a week).

Always rinse your blades and screens with water after each shave and they will last longer. For the blades use the brush to clean it while rinsing it with water and NEVER use the brush for the screens.

I also had a hard time finding the replacements locally, but I found it here in Amazon and I think the price is really great since other online stores have it over $20.Why are you complaining you can't find the replacements? just click on "Add to Cart" is it that hard?

I think spending around $17 a year for shaving is a GOOD DEAL.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing performance
I was looking for a replacement for my old Norelco razor (battery getting weak after 4 years) and thought that I would give Remington a try.I was very disapointed with the performance of this razor. It did not cut as well as my old Norelco and the cutting heads seemed to heat up from friction very quickly.I returned this razor and am purchasing another Norelco.

5-0 out of 5 stars One smooth shaver!
I bought this shaver for my fiance for Christmas. He loves it.He is normally a blade-shaver and was very happy and surprised to find that he could get such a close, smooth shave with this razor. It fits comfortably in his hand and holds a charge very well. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent little shaver, and I mean little!
Bought this a few weeks ago, and these are my impressions:

1. It is very small. The actual shaving head is about 1/2 to 2/3rds as long as a typical shaver. This means it takes longer to shave.

2. Shaves just great.

3. Works just great in the shower. This is my first wet/dry shaver and I love shaving in the shower now!

4. It is NOT rechargeable.I should have noticed that because it is clearly stated in the amazon page, but I have never heard of a battery powered NON-rechargeable razor before!Surprise!

5. It burned through a set of two AA batteries in about a week or 10 days for me.I bought some NiMH rechargeables and they are working fine so far.

Hope this helps!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wahl has a winner!
I have had several trimmers this one is the best so far. It's six-position beard regulator works pretty well and attaches. The six positions go from a long comb to allow longer beards to a very short to keep contours close. Of course, if you remove the attachment you can use it to trim up a mustache. The Groomsman has a soft gripping surface for a non slip grip. It comes with a travel bag kit, brushes and oil. 5-0 out of 5 stars Slick
Cartridges are Cartridges. However I have had a few blades that I swear the blade went before the beard. Others being marginal my wife made me use to dull down so she could use them.
These animals just do not dull. Gillette must count on the volume of users because Gillette would starve to death waiting for me to use enough to make production worth while. And I use shaving soap just to mark the area covered as there is already some sort of slick lubricating strip on the cartridge; with out this strip I would not know when to toss the Cartridges out.
There is enough space between blades to allow for easy cleaning. One can almost look forward to shaving.
Even though they seem to last for ever I would not want to be caught at the last minute with out a replacement.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Only One to Buy!
This is the only blade I'm allowed to buy for my husband. He normally has to shave at least twice daily but these blades allow him to go all day without the second shave. They don't tear up his face in the process either, but get it so close that he doesn't have to worry about rushing home to shave again.A truly great product and well worth the price. It's great for ladies too!

4-0 out of 5 stars So close to perfect.
I'm still looking for the perfect razor. The Mach3 Turbo comes close, though. I've been using it daily (or nearly so) since its debut. It works, and it gets the job done. It rarely nicks me, but I do still get skin irritation. Down under my jawline, I still feel scraggly by the end of the day, but it's not too bad.

I know this sounds like a bad review, but it really isn't. I mean, it's tough to get excited about shaving, but at least the Mach3 Turbo has me shaving every day,if you want to shave with a blade, this is the blade for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mowin' the five-o'clock shadow
There was a time when I couldn't stand shaving my face. No matter what type of instrument I used-- single- and double-bladers, Norelco™s, EpiLady™-- after the act I usually found myself annoyed by skin irritation, razor burn, and nicks that took forever to stop bleeding. But when I tried the Mach 3™, which changed the dreaded shaving ritual from a bothersome, dreadful task into... well, a less-bothersome, tolerable task. I got closer and cleaner shaves with fewer strokes than I did with previous depilatory implements, and my face didn't sting quite after the deed had been performed. I also experienced fewer nicks and cuts, helping to keep my styptic pencil bills down. Unfortunately, the max number of shaves I could ever get out of a single Mach 3™ V 1.0 cartridge was six before the dullness set in (partially due to my coarse facial hair) and the lube strip began to poop out.

I was surprised by how well Gillette managed to improve on most of the Mach 3™'s designs with the release of the Mach 3 Turbo™. Now it takes even fewer passes to get them cheeks & chin baby-bottom bare, and I've managed to make the average Turbo cartridge last through eight shaves. And thanks to the apparently-improved lube strip and that little face-stretcher thingy on the bottom part of the tri-blade, my face only feels a light sting in a stiff wind after a shave. Another great surprise: I didn't have to buy a new kit for the Turbo cartridges-- they snap right onto my original Mach 3™ razor handle, no sweat!

Thanks to the Gillette® Mach 3 Turbo™, that semi-weekly shaving ritual I once dreaded has gone from a less-bothersome, tolerable task to... an even-less-bothersome and even-more tolerable task! Boy, if Gillette™ keeps improving on this product, I might one day actually find myself enjoying the act of mowin' the five-o'clock shadow!

5-0 out of 5 stars SOLID PRODUCT, GREAT PRICE!
My old norelco trimmer just gave out on me, after 8 years.
I've had the t765 for about a month now, and I'm very happy
with it. It trims my beard and stash effortlessly, and a single
charge lasts very long. This model is a little smaller than my
last trimmer, it's very light, and fits comfortably in my hand.
If the t765 lasts half as long as my old trimmer, I'll be happy!
For $20.00 you can't beat this norelco trimmer!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Big
When i ordered this as a moustache trimmer. I was hoping it would be sleek enough to maneuver around my moustache, but it turned out to be quite bulky. I like the option to change sizes(up to 9), which is very convenient, you also have a comb that moves with your face contour unlike the fixed combs seen on other models. Overall a decent buy for its price, if you are using it for your beard, but not worth it if you intend to use it only for your moustache... ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good shave; don't like the power switch
The 7825XL, 7845XL, 7865XL and 7885XL models are all basically the same razor, differing only in the way they display battery/chargingstatus (anywhere from 1 LED to a complete tiny LCD display). The shaving peformance is fine for me -- not as close as a wet shave but that's a good thing for me personally because the closeness of wet shaves makes my face break out.Every 3-7 years I buy a new Norelco and they get incrementally better each time.

I'm writing to warn about one feature.Every shaver I'd had up to this one had a physical slider switch to turn it on and off. This models has a push button. This means you can't tell BY TOUCH whether it's on or off. This is critical for me because I usually shave in the car (sitting in traffic) with the stereo blaring and I can't hear the shaver (especially since the newer models are pretty quiet).I turn it on and off a lot as traffic conditions change.

Further, when the battery is low, my previous shavers would just run slower and slower until they came to a gradual stop. This one slows slightly (imperceptably to me, really) and then just "falls off the cliff" and stops cold.So you don't get any warning really that it's about to run out -- if I knew it was running down, then I'd shave a lot faster!

And this is where the tactile power switch feedback is important:if the battery's totally drained, but I'm not done yet, I'll leave it off for a minute and then turn it on for 5-10 seconds of shaving before it dies again. With the push-button power control this is really confusing because you're never really sure what's on and off.It turns out the the power button is like a pulse that gets sent to an internal microcontroller (I'm guessing), so after it's been off for a while the power "position" doesn't matter, it's really off.You just push to reboot the thing.

So, my 7825XL was robbed out of my car last night and I'm buying another one of these, so I guess that's an endorsement. But I'm bumping up to the next higher model with better battery status indication ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Shaver....
After a long and arduous search, I finally found an electric shaver that does what it's suppose to do and that's to shave and do it well.

Ease of use:This shaver is very easy to use.A LED display tells you when it's time to recharge the battery or when it's time to clean it.Cleaning is quite easy as well.Just rinse it under the faucet.

Close Shave:The shave is as close as what you get from a razor.Shaving takes about 2-3 minutes if you shave daily.Shaving the neck area is quite good as well.If you wait few days, then you might have to shave few times before all the long hairs will be cut.

I tried three other products with a variety of different features (luckily most of the electric shavers comes with 30-60 day full money back guaranty) and Norelco Quadra Action stood apart.I would suggest, you try couple of different shavers and get the one which is most comfortable for your face.

Happy Shaving....

5-0 out of 5 stars dependable shaver...
this is my first time with electric shaver...its been 17
months now and i have nothing to complain...i use it 7 days a
week...initially the battery charge was for 50+mins but
now it is usually around 43, still sufficient...
the only thing that maybe of concern is the performance
if shaving after a gap of more than 2 days, it isnt easy,
but the same holds true for the regular razor blade shave too...
cleaning is very easy. also the trimmer is real handy...
overall i'm completely satisfied

1-0 out of 5 stars Rebate is a joke
The gift certificate must be used within 30 days or it expires. After 2 complaining emails, Amazon did the right think and reissued it.Be persistant since the first email made the situation sound hopeless.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Shaver
I've had my Quadra 7886XL for three months now and really like it.This 86XL version is intended for the discount stores and the Norelco phone rep I talked to said its the same as the 85XL except for color ..... in fact it shares the same users manuel. I purchased mine at Cosco for $90.

The shaver is a replacement for a Norelco 710RL which lastedover 10 years.I considered buying the low end Reflex Plus but it seemed a little too cheap and flimsey. So I decided to move up to the Quadra line and have been very pleased.

1. Its provided a very smooth and close shave without irritation from the start.Head/blade design has come a long way in a decade. I have a VERY thick and tough beard and am able to complete a shave in 5 to 7 minutes ...... this may seem long but it took 12 to 15 minutes on my old shaver.

2. The LCD Display is great ....... remaining charge time is right there as well as a periodic cleaning reminder. The battery does a complete recharge in about one hour and provides 40 to 43 minutes of use.

3. Its light and easy to hold.

4. The sideburn trimmer seems sturdy and does the job.

5. Cleaning with warm water once a week is a snap and it dries quickly.

6. Its very quiet.

7. The charger is built right into the power cord plug. There's no separate unit to clutter the sink top when recharging.

My only gripe is that Norelco does not provide a hard case for the shaver. The soft travel bag is OK for packing on trips but isn't convenient for use in the house. The shaver has a small flat spot on the back and can be placed on a shelf but if you have to put it into a sliding drawer it has a tendency to rock over on its side. Oh well, you can't have everything!

Bottom line: this shaver is the real deal. Get one at a discount store if you can........ but even at $130 its a winner.

5-0 out of 5 stars It does its job as expected.
After reading many of the reviews for other brands and some other Panasonic trimmers I decided to take a chance with this one that had no reviews and really not much info on it whatsoever. I took the risk based on how poor the ratings and reviews were for most of the other similar products on the site and I decided to go with this one based on brand recognition, price and appearance (marketing students take notice hehe..)
This is the first time I have actually bought a nose hair trimmer so I have nothing else to compare it with but as I stated in the title it does its job as expected.
The unit is attractive looking with a dark and light blue metallic-looking combination. The casing is not metallic but plastic and although it looks very nice I find my 2 year old Norelco beard trimmer better looking than this unit. To be more specific it doesn't look as fancy but it does look very good.
The unit is small at 5.5 inches long and a bit over 1 inch wide at its widest point. It is by no means heavy. It is powered by a AA battery and has no recharging option and can't be plugged in. But I am guessing a single battery will last plenty so those are really not drawbacks methinks!
Does it work? Why yes! Like I said before I have nothing to compare it to, but like they say, first impressions are very important and this unit has indeed given me a good first impression. It nose-trimmed very well and the process was both effortless and painless (have not tried using it for my ears and I don't think I ever will as I don't have that problem so I can't report on that). The motor makes the blades spin quite fast (rotary blades) which is what makes the trimming painless and the blades themselves are surrounded by a plastic casing to prevent injuries, it works well. To store it you are provided a plastic cap to cover both the blades and the plastic casing around them.
It is easily disassembled (for cleaning purposes) and reassembled.
My only concern for now will be how long it will last. I am not too fond of products made in China and this product is well... made in China. The unit (the blades) as stated in the user's manual is supposed to last for 2 years if used on a single 1 minute session each week, which I think by itself is aiming a little towards the disposable category but again for the price I have no problem with that. My problem would be if the unit would die at any time before at least six months of normal use. I started using it mid May, so I'll update this report if it fails before mid November, if I haven't updated by then, that means it is still going and it can keep its 5 star rating.
So should you get it? I would say: go for it!!
Hope this helped. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Razor I've ever owned.
GREAT razor. It never pinches or pulls hairs out like both Norelco rotary razors that I had.The replaceable cutting head makes it very cost effective.I used the first set daily for 3 years before a small defect appeared.Great close shaves, relatively quiet and fine battery performance even now after daily use for 3 years.

This gentle hair removal system prepares your entire body for beach season or year-round swimming and costs a fraction of what a salon charges for full-body waxing or electrolysis treatments. About the size of a stick of solid deodorant, this epilator discreetly removes unwanted hair from the face, bikini line, legs, or underarms. The power switch activates a disc full of rotating tweezers that pluck even the shortest hairs at the root and leave skin soft and smooth for up to six weeks. More comfortable than epilators from the past, the Gently Gold Caress model has 24-karat gold-plated tweezers for gentler epilation and a curved head that follows a woman’s contours, eliminating nicks and cuts that may occur during shaving. In addition, this epilator employs pain reduction technology, which uses 36 discs to stretch skin and gently remove hair during the first try to reduce skin irritation. 4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best
I have had Emjoi for a couple of months...and to tell you frankly, after my first use it was sitting on the shelf. It hurts!! But two months ago I read a review which suggested of take a painkiller. Well, it worked wonderfully. In less that half-an-hour I had silky legs and I did not feel the pain!

For first time users I have a suggestion. If you are unsure of your pain tolerance level, take a painkiller. I also figured out that it may be a good idea to use Veet or Nair first, wait for two weeks and then epilate. The reason being, if you are a first time user, your hair are probably quite long. It would hurt more to eplilate longer hair than shorter.

On the whole I liked the machine. I gave four stars because even though they suggest that one can use it for underarms, I have found it hurting even after taking a painkiller.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product!
Although this is not for the feint of heart, it does an amazing job. As someone with quite sensitive skin, I have had reactions to waxing, razors are a nightmare and to top it off having course dark hair I am always trying out a product to see if it might help and I think I have found my miracle product with this one!

I wont lie it does hurt when trying it out but I found after a while and once you get the hang of how to use it, it was not all that bad. It does a great job in getting even the shortest of hairs and afterwards it was red, but using a product such as tend skin or any product designed to prevent razor burn it helped a great deal and after a few hours my skin was not red at all.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective hair removal system. It really works and I wont be going back to razors ever again!

5-0 out of 5 stars Emjoi AP9GA Gently Gold Caress Epilator with Cord
This product performs exactly as it is expected. Yes, the first time you use it, you may feel some discomfort, but walk it off!!!In the end, you will be glad you did!!!When used regularly, there is minimal discomfort for maximum results.I use regularly on my bikini line and on my underarms and can report that the results are smooth and fabulous!I think it works well on legs also, but I am too impatient to use regularly here.In my opinion, this is a godsend for bikini line and underarms!

4-0 out of 5 stars I like it lots and lots
Let me start by saying that I am fair complected with light hair.I have a LOW tolerence for pain!!I really like this product(after 5 years of using Nad's "wax").The best thing that I have found so far is that I don't have to take a bath after each session.Don't get me wrong, I love baths, but it is difficult with 2 small children, to find the time to wax and then to bathe:)I agree that it does take some creative movement to get all the hair around the knees and ankles, but that is the same with any removal product.I really like using it on the armpit area, and after the second time the pain is not a factor. That brings me to the second think that I like about this product... if it hurts, stop for a bit and come back. The bikini area is a bit dicey, and I think it will be easier with hubby's help to pull the skin taut.I would not recommend starting out with long hair, about a day or 2 growth seems to be the best, so for the first use, shave, wait a day or 2 depending on your hair growth, then go for it.I have found that three days in a row of use gets me smooth for about a two week period, then the little persistant hairs start again. That is about the time I had with Nad's.The new thing here is that I can do it over and be done without waiting for them to grow for another two weeks to get long enough to wax.All in all I am impressed and like the product for the value.I might try a step up next time, or a flat head to see if it makes a difference, but I won't go back to waxing or shaving for the long haul.I am already planning how to introduce epilating to my daughter when she is old enough to do it in the hopes that she will never have to shave because the truth is that my hair is finer and more sparse than before waxing and epilating.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gorilla legs begone!
I first tried this product about 7 years ago after seeing it in an airline magazine (you know, one of those things on every plane in the pocket on the seat in front of your cramped-up legs). I have always had coarse, dark hair on my legs, thanks to my dad's genetic contribution to my body, and in summer had to shave nearly every day--literally a pain, as I'm of little use with a razor. I ordered my first, wore it out after 4 years, am now wearing out a second! and will certainly buy another one. What I am finding wears out is the power adaptor. It is a good idea to follow the recommendations that come with the product about exfoliation and how to hold the skin, etc. (I find a fine-grade foot file works better than a loofah for exfoliation, by the way). The Emjoi also works best if you keep it very clean--don't let hairs build up in it. Use the brush or a small pipe-cleaner each time. ...

4-0 out of 5 stars Wash & dry face first for best results.4.5 stars.
It's true what other reviewers have said: you'll get the best results out of the 7865XL (and the others in the 7800 series) if you wash and dry your face first. Then it glides smoothly and works in very few passes.I probably have to make sure I cross each area about three times in different directions (mostly going against the grain of the whiskers) to get everything. If I follow those two basic guidelines, my chin is smooth as can be and the shave lasts all day.If I don't wash first it's still a joy to use, but it takes longer (more passes in different directions to get every whisker) and won't last all day (more like 8 hours).

This item is worth buying, it's fun to use... I'd give it 4 and a half stars. To get 5 it would need to do everything in a single pass, and that's a tall order.

I also like the fact that you can rinse the head under running water to clean it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.....
I read all the positive reviews on this shaver, so I picked one up 6 weeks ago. It shaves my face quite well, but does a lousy job on my neck and jawline. I had to go to an engagement party recently, and to get a decent, clean shave I had to break down and use a razor. The booklet says to use only the electric shaver for 3 weeks straight to give your skin time to adjust; but not only wouldn't this thing shave my neck decently, it actually caused a nasty rash to develop as well. I had to use Lanacane for a week to get rid of it. This Norelco model will be my last attempt at using an electric shaver (I tried a high-priced Braun as well, with similar results). Over 90 bucks spent on this thing, and I still can't get a really good, satisfactory shave. I can't recomment this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars This shaver is great
My husband is disabled, therefore must use an electric one. This one gives him the closest shave and is just right for his sensitive skin.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best electric I've had
This Norelco (actually made by Philips) one was bought to replace an older shaver (I've used Norelco, Philips and Panasonics over the years.) This one is more efficient (faster, better shave) than my older one, and an amazingly amount quieter. What do you know- this time, "new and improved" really is accurate!

What I like: the shaver fits the hand well, the pivoting blade heads fit the face and as a result shave quite well. The battery strength indicator, consisting of bright LEDs showing the percentage of charge remaining in 20% increments, is very useful, and the flip-up hinged shaver head section is easy to clean with warm water (I still have to consciously force myself to do this!) They have also "shrunk" the half-egg shaped power transformer, and you can use 100 - 220 volts to plug / charge, a good thing for someone who travels globally as I do.

What I don't like: the pop-up trimmer is only fair - it works, but it's actually not as effective as the one on my old shaver! The deep well holding the head rotors shafts is not so easy to clean with a brush, particularly with the hinged head; they are still using a non-user replaceable NiCd battery; the gimmicky cutter head plate section with holes seems merely that - gimmicky, not useful for any real shaving.

Tips: After cleaning the head / blade assemblies, allow them to dry fully and spray-lubricate with something like "Shaver Saver." When power seems low, turn the shaver on and allow to discharge fully before reccharging - these are, after all, still NiCd batteries with the "memory" effect. These tips have allowed my previous electrics' battery - and cutter head assemblies - to last a long time (I have a heavy beard - even with a blade shaver, I have to shave again in the afternoon if I have a dinner appointment.)

Recommendation: This is a very good, easy to use, quick and quiet electric shaver - the best I have ever used. It packs easily for travel, and though it is a bit finnicky to clean, I like it because it does the job I need it to do. Given the several deficits, I'd never give it four stars if not for how it handles its ultimate function - shaving my beard. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pre-shave--as good a a wet shave
I have very sensitive skin and tried wet shaving with several different electrics and this shave stick beats foam and loation hands down.As other reviewers point out the stick is made of talc in a parafin base.It makes dry shaving extremely smooth, as smooth as shaving with foam or lotion but without any of the mess. You can use this with any type of electric, not just Remingtons, and it's very easy to clean out, just tap it out and/or blow and/or brush.Highly recommended

5-0 out of 5 stars Smooth as silk
Great partner to the Remington MS3-2700.
I have always been afraid of electric shavers due to the pulling of face hair and the redness and rawness from the shavers. I just purchased a new Remington shaver and decided to try the face saver powder stick and was greatly pleased with the results.
The stick was so easy to apply and made the MS3-2700 shaver glide across my sensitive skin. The residue in the shaver cleaned right out with the whiskers. I highly recommend this stick to anyone using an electric shaver.

5-0 out of 5 stars BetterThan liquids.
When I got a new Remington electric razor a few years ago a package of Remington FaceSaver came with it. I used it until it ran out then started with the liquids like Lectric Shave. They never worked as well.

The powder is a talc, which dries that clingy bit of moisture on your skin, plus paraffin, which with the talc lets the head glide over your skin.

As another reviewer says, the powdery waste easily dumps out of the cutter head - no brushing required.

I hunt this stuff down. No other way to shave, in my opinion. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great shaver
Got this on my last trip to Vegas when I forgot to pack my Braun.Have been very happy, so much so that I now use this regularly and have retired my 10-year-old Braun. It's great for all types of shaving.I really have nothing unflattering to say about this great electric shaver.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome shaver!!!
This is one of the best shavers on the market. Whatever they say about Norelco being the best,I think Panasonic rocks when it comes to shavers. My husband's been using a 7xxx model for 3 years now and I decided to buy a new, more advanced, model for him since he's been kind of reluctant to shave lately. And, needless to say, I like him better with smooth and soft shaved skin...The result- he's been shaving every 2 days thanks to the fact this model makes less noise, has a great easy-grip design, recharges incredibly quickly and looks cool in the bathroom (Men love beautiful toys- from Gameboy Advance to Pro Curve shavers.) I'll buy him more Panasonic products in the future; recommend you to do the same; won't regret it!!!:)
You'd ask "why 4 stars, then?" Well, lets leave some room for more HiTech advances...

4-0 out of 5 stars Best I've ever used
It isnt perfect, doesn't shave as close as a razor, but it is the best I have ever used and I have had some expensive electric razors. It easily out performs my old Norelco quadra.

I am a worst case scenario for an electric razor. This is the closest shaving electric I have ever used and it is the first ever to do a half decent job under my chin along my neck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the investment - Great but Not Perfect
After trying various electric shavers in the $50 range that gave poor shave and skin irratations, I finally gave in and bought this top-of-the-line shaver, which is lives up to the hype. It's definitely the Lexus of shavers.I really like the fact that I can lather up my face with shaving cream and shave while showering.Since it's wet and dry, just pop open the shave head and rinse away the debris in two seconds.(I just hated cleaning the Norelco rotary heads with the two tiny brushes, with the little flimsy parts invariably popping out of place in the process.)

I have thick and tough stubbles that cheap shavers could not tackle well, but the sharp blades combined with high RPM motor of this shaver mowed them away smoothly.Despite the high RPM, it's the quietest electric shaver I've owned, with very little vibration. The shaver is large, but it's ergonomically designed and very comfortable to hold while shaving.

On the downside, the charging base is made of flimsy plastic that looks ready to crack any second. The poor design of the base also forces you to use two hands when separating the shaver from the charger. Also, in order to maintain the peak performance, you must replace the foil and blade every few months, which are not cheap either.(However, you can order these from Amazon - look up the keyword "WES9006WC".)But no electric shaver is perfect, including this one.I actually use the Mach-3 at the end to 'sandpaper' away the spots that are scratchy to the touch.

I believe Amazon is the best place to buy this shaver.'Best Buy' carries them, but their price, availability, and model selection are spotty at best.Further, their staff had zero knowledge about shavers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Recommended
Bought this to replace an ES8066 and a Braun Integral 5416 which were working ok but needed new blades. I figured it wasn't worth replacing the blades of obsolete shavers--they cost almost half the price of new units. In my experience, Braun shaves slightly closer than Panasonic. However, I like the convenience of shaving in the shower, so I got the Panasonic. All their wet/dry pro-curve shavers seem to be functionally identical, so I got the cheapest one. As usual, Amazon delivered quickly and at a low price.

I was a bit disappointed when I first opened the blister pack--the charging base and foil assembly are both flimsier than on the earlier model. I dropped my old shaver several times to no ill effect, and I don't think this one would survive as well. Also, the pivot action is along the opposite axis as on the Braun shavers. It seems they wanted to mimic Braun but couldn't violate their patent. I'm not sure pivoting does much of anything in the left-right direction. Truth be told, though, it doesn't do very much in the up-down direction on the Braun either.

The charging base is less precarious than it seemed at first, though it doesn't have the coolness factor of the earlier model's sealed design without visible plugs. The pro-curve shines, however, when you push the electronic switch. The shaver is MUCH quieter and more ergonomic than the vibrating brick 8066. It's the first shaver I've owned that actually works pretty well for me going with the grain. I still have to go back over against the grain to get a close shave. Keeping the shaver and the counter clean is a snap, with no need to buy cleaning solution. I was tired of the Braun mostly because it leaked hair dust all over the sink. If this shaver lasts as long as the last one, I'll be very happy with my purchase. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars How about redesigning the power system
Great trimmer with a rather unique feel and design. I am 57, a red head gone white with lots of fine hair. The vacuum is acceptable if you empty it frequently. The adjustable length setting is anice feature.
Now this thing needs to have some healthy battery power and life, come on now, pitifully weak batteries with a short charge, 14 hour charging time and won't work while plugged in the wall. You best plan ahead for a trim. Not at all convenient. I'd rather have a corded version, more flexibility.Pssst....Norelco...think Lithium Ion or Nickel Metal Hydride for pity's sake.

2-0 out of 5 stars The "accu-vac" is not so "accu"
I'm not sure what kind of facial hair the men have who claim a 90% vacuum rate.I'd guess about half of my hair makes it into the vacuum tray. The only problem is that it's no less annoying to clean 50% of my beard hair out of the sink and surrounding areas than it was to clean 100% of it.

Don't expect much in the way of vacuuming from this product.

3-0 out of 5 stars They should rename this product--Accu YES, Vac NO.
The shaver works fine.A nice even shave, though I would prefer more settings in the shorter range. However, this thing really disappoints in the vacuuming function. It claims to suck up all the cut hairs, but my sink is always full of hair. As far as my unit goes, it catches about 1/2 of the hairs, creating a little mess every time I shave.

1-0 out of 5 stars GARBAGE
This is probably the worst product I ever bought in my life, and I am 67 years old.The apparatus for changing the comb extension broke before I got to use the shaver.Save your money, this is truly garbage.

4-0 out of 5 stars best beard trim yet
I came to amazon to review my new trimmer and amazon is confusing me with two identical (seemingly) trimmers listed seperately, similar listing, not identical, price close but not identical.Any explanation for that would be interesting. Now to the trimmer. It arrived yesterday. Read the instructions and charged it up.Last night I trimmed my beard for the first time and it was a pleasureable experience.I like to keep my beard really short and I was pleased that the settings allow fine adjustment, I did not have to use the shortest setting, "1" which is called the stubble look.I started with 4 and worked down to 2.My beard looks better than it has in years.THe motor is powerful, you can feel the vacuum working and it collected an impressive amount of hair, altho not all of it.Besides my primary job I'm also a model for art classes and I intend to use the trimmer to keep body hair from getting out of hand, it should be perfect for keeping it short without that awful shaved body look which is not what I want to present when modeling. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Worked great for 30 mins.
I bought one and used it twice in six weeks to trim my beard. Two weeks later I tried to use it and it was dead and would not charge. Seller said it had a 30 day warrantee and they were sorry. This is the only trimmer I have ever had that just died for no known reason. Others have lasted for years.

The sellers has my money and says he is sorry. This may be a good price and works well but a product is only as good as the people who stand behind it. They think so little of their product to fear standing behind it I would not buy from them at any price. Amazon is a good company and has always tried to help with problems but this seller and this trimmer does not live up to their high standard. As they said they are sorry.

1-0 out of 5 stars Still waiting - a note on shipping - not a product review
Can't really review this thing, because I'm still waiting for it from Amazon. I ordered it on February 21, and just got a note from them saying it will be delayed, with an estimated delivery by May 20..That would be 3 months!

So...don't believe the shipping estimate. It doesn't ship within 1-2 weeks. Maybe more like 1-2 months. Yes, I'm looking forward to using this. But by May 20, I'll look like I'm in ZZ Top.

Buy this thing somewhere else.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid product
I've had this beard trimmer for about 4 years now, and I've been quite happy with it.Previously I had a crappy Wahl one that died after only a year and was cheaply made. The Panasonic one is easy to use, stays sharp, and is convenient.

The only downside to this trimmer is that it is cordless-only, so that you cannot run it when plugged in (though that would be awkward in any case given the design, with the pop-out plug in the base). The battery no longer holds a charge well (after 4 years, 2x per week), and so it needs to be replaced. There is no way to replace the battery separately, though given the cost of batteries relative to the cost of the trimmer I'm not sure that's a big deal.

I would recommend this highly as an inexpesive trimmer.I'm replacing it with the Panasonic 203 model, which has corded operation (so I'm hoping I can continue using it after the battery is really weak) and is dual-voltage, which is occasionally convenient.

5-0 out of 5 stars simple, uncluttered and effective
I am new to electric shaving. This is my first full beard. I read all the reviews for this and competing products and the ER389K sounded the best for the most customers. I received it in a few days from Amazon and love it. It is simple, easy to use. It has no wires, keeps my bathroom uncluttered. It does the job and at reasonable price.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great trimmer!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great shaver so far
I've had this refurb shaver for almost two months. The shave is close, and the power has lasted at least two weeks between charge. My facial hair doesn't grow fast, so I don't have much of a problem with shaving per se.The motor is silent. Not much to complain about, it works well. The only thing I would have preferred for it to be was washable under water. That's okay though, not a big deal.Recommended for the low price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Braun 7505 - a really great shaver!
I have been using Braun shavers for > 25 years, & this is just another step forward in improving a good product. The "factory reconditioned" shaver had the slightest handling scuffs, but inspection of the blades showed it had never touched a face.Slight changes in the foil, & the offset head, made it more comfortable & easier to get into curves than previous models. And, the cord/cordless feature means that I won't have to throw it away when the battery pack dies after 2 years like my last one.(There's no point in paying $50 to replace a battery pack.)I assume that the plastic parts that raise the trimmer will break soon, as usual, but I can live with that.I don't need the fancy self-cleaning tray or shave lube dispenser of the more expensive models, I just want the basics. For the money, the 7505 is a great value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Puts my Norelco in the trash (where it belongs)
Braun is the electric razor division of Gillette -- an amazing company that has dominated its sector for 100 years (No, I'm not an employee or stockholder).Just want to establish that this company knows, and cares deeply, about the science of cutting facial hair.

I was disappointed that my Norelco triple-header (heavily advertised holiday gift) generally did NOT give me a great shave and moreover, the NickelCadmium battery that couldn't hold a charge wasn't replaceable. That's all I needed to know.

This Braun product was an inexpensive alternative to a brand new model -- I don't have the "cleaning solution" kit.It works more than fine. I used to get "razor bumps" and ingrown hairs with the Norelco. The battery is NickelMetalHydrid which is less susceptible to "memory" loss. After a couple of years, I replaced the foil and cutter block for ~$20 (which should probably be done more often).

I am more than satisfied; I would buy a Braun again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great deal!
I feel like I discovered a secret find with this product. It arrived to me looking brand new and working great, and at a great price.I was a little hesitant to buy a "reconditioned" product, but this one looked completely new.Additionally, this shaver was a big improvement over a basic model Braun I had before. This one is much more quiet and comfortable, although I'd like to find an electric shaver even more quiet.

1-0 out of 5 stars Had two of these shavers, each one only lasted 3 months
I received this shaver in June, 2004.It quit working in August, 2004.I sent it back to the factory and received a replacement in September, 2004.This second shaver quit working in December, 2004.I haven't sent it back yet for another replacement because I have no confidence in getting another shaver that will have a reasonable life.I intend to make a claim to get my money back to buy a Norelco.

My previous shaver was a triple head Norelco. The Braun shave is maybe as good as the Norelco but the Norelco rotary heads provide a quicker shave with fewer passes. The Norelco battery is much better. It lasted over 3 weeks per charge for well over 7 years then started to dwindle down for then next three years.
The Braun battery lasts 2 weeks per charge when new.

5-0 out of 5 stars great product!!
This stuff is excellent!I can't find it in any stores around me, they all seem to have discontinued it.I have sensitive skin, and it really helps, and shaves much better than any other pre-shave product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ditto with the previous review
This stuff works great!I'm glad I found it, because Norelco doesn't advertise this product, and they don't appear to offer their own version of pre-shave gel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Stuff
I have sensitive skin, and I've been looking for something to protect it since I went electric.

I get a good, close shave with the gel.Recommend it for those with sensitive, or thin skin. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent trimmer
This trimmer is great! No more red bumps or irritation like you get from razors or hair removers.Like others said, it didn't come with a carrying pouch, but I didn't mind.I recommended it to a friend and she bought one too, and loves it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn close
My fiance and I have been looking for a workable solution for the hair down under. She has tried waxing - too painful - and shaving would cause a lot of bumps and irritation, even with the Shick Intutition. Her pubic region was basically living on Neosporen, Bikini Zone, and Gold Bond (not together and not in any particular order). We also tried scissors, but that was hard to negotiate, if you will, in the more intimate of areas. At this point she was seriously thinking laser hair removal, but wasn't ready to pony up the $$ and commit to an irrevocable decision.Although, based on the other posts here and accepted fashion trends, I highly doubt that an "au natural massive overgrowth" will be in style.

The trimmer is great.Yes, Amazon should take down the photo of the storage pouch.Yes, it won't get you totally smooth or bald. But it is a well built TRIMMER, which is painless and easy to use.You can adjust the length you want, and you can easily work around the more sensitive and intimate southern locations.

I suppose, although we have no interest in it, that you can get creative with styling your pubic hair into shapes and designs.Hey what ever works!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd Found This Years Ago!
It's easy to use, has several setting for different lengths, comes with a slipcase, doesn't make a lot of noise, and it's easy to clean. This is a wonderful trimmer for your bikini area. If you are looking to get a smooth shave, this isn't for you.It is simply a trimmer that is great for maintenance.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good trimmer!
This trimmer is comfortable to hold, which is important for those of us with carpal tunnel syndrome, and comfortable to use.It does a very good, even job and has 5 different settings so that you can have the hair length you prefer. Those who prefer longer lengths can have it while still getting the benefits of an even trim.

As another reviewer noted, the trimmer does not come with the bag shown in the picture, which means that you get to figure out a way to keep the trimmer and the brush together. For this reason and because I would have liked the trimmer to cut just a tiny bit closer, I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Really, though, those issues are very minor, and I'm quite happy with the trimmer.I'd definitely recommend it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great product, deceiving picture
This trimmer is great. I got it after reading all the other reviews and I have to agree with everyone about how good a trimmmer it is.The only disappointment I have is I expected a carrying case for the trimmer, like on the picture, but it did not have one included. ... Read more
