4-0 out of 5 stars No cuts, mach 3 gets closer
I like the smooth feeling of the Mach 3, even if it is a masculine color. The Venus just doesn't get as close.Good on your knees, if you tend to nick yourself there.I'm sticking to the Mach 3 for a longer-lasting shave.

5-0 out of 5 stars No more cuts!
If you are somehow managing to cut yourself, no matter how carefully you think you are shaving... and you are fed up with it, then these are the razors you need to try. Now, bear in mind this item is just the refill pack for the blades, but it is a good price. So, just get your Venus at the Target center on Amazon.com & then stock up on these blade refills.I actually do a great job with the Venus razor... no cuts at all!And verrrry smooth! :)And the color strip, also a moisturizer, tells exactly when it is time for a blade change. ... The rotary, surgical-grade stainless-steel blades on thisbattery-operated trimmer comfortably remove unwanted nose and ear hairs morequickly, easily, and safely than scissors. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good Value - Not high precision expensive Nosehair = 1x/mo
I use this about 1x / month. It cuts the nose and ear hair.

Being an engineer and having one for over 5 years I know that
one of the problems has to do with the contacts becoming dirty/
corroded. The solution is to clean the contacts thoroghly.
I mean very very thoroughly.

And use a new AA battery.I have even had fine use with a rechargable battery. But I have experienced troubles that were
traced back to corroded battery contacts.I think the reason
for this is that when the metal gets wet it will eventually
corrode.

Also leaking batteries from putting the unit away for a long time
with an low battery will cause damage to any circuitry when a
battery leaks a bit of alkaline material.

Consider complaining to the battery company for this kind of problem.

Overall this unit is exactly worth the price you pay for it.
It does cut my hair which is coarse but I'm Arabic. Maybe a
Black person should avoid this. Or maybe a Blonde person should avoid it.I have not tested it on my friends.

It does tickle the nose. That kind of drives me nuts. But there
is not much to do but tolerate it. It does give a close shave 'up there' if you move it around and around.

Enjoy the cutter. I do.

1-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for!
The negative reviews are correct. I too had problems with the switch not working and the blades spinning inconsistently. The plastic nozzle that houses the blades is held on with tiny plastic hooks, which eventually broke making my trimmer useless.

1-0 out of 5 stars It will NOT change your life! You can pay too little.
I purchased this thing over a year ago from Amazon. You people LIED to me!I'm shopping for a replacement!Seriously though, it has some problems:1. The switch doesn't make very good contact, so you end up switching it on and off a few times to get it to start.2. It's underpowered, so it starts up kind of slow, and you wonder if it is up to the task. One AA battery isn't enough.3. The cutters seem cheap and don't trim very closely.4. Overall sound and feel is cheesy. This is NOT a precision instrument.

1-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer
Don't let the name Panasonic fool you. This is a cheap toy. Mine got slower and slower, fresh batteries made little difference. It didn't even last a year. Spend a little more and get a better one.
E.L.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the second one I've bought after 5 years.
I don't know why two of the other reviewers had problems, this little gizmo has worked great for me for the past 5 years when I bought it at Wal-Mart.Now they don't carry them and I want a replacement.BTW, I bought another kind (flat shaver style) and the thing is too clumsy to use (cut myself twice). This works great, at least on me. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars FANTABULOUS!!
This is the best hair removal product.I have tried them all and this is the best one.I am a big advocate of only using products with natural or organic ingredients. This is remniscent of the old french method of using honey wax and sugar. It is easy to remove after the waxing is finished...if there should be small sticky bits left over.
It is effective in removing the hair. This is hard to find for present day hair removal products.I have thin hair too.Usually it is difficult to remove thin hair but this grips it really well. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars trimmer/shaver NOT hair remover
It's not a hair remover! It's a small trimmer/shaver and good probably just for the eyebrows or very small thin hair, if that.

5-0 out of 5 stars so far so good
i bought it for my bf because he hates and complaines when i wax his bushy eyebrows. so i thought this would be a great thing. i got it for him and he loves it. His parents seen it and now im ordering more. Hopefully they all wont break or else im in trouble!! =)

5-0 out of 5 stars Norelco HP6390 Personal Hair Remover
This thing is amazing. You can't even hurt yourself with it if tried. It gets the job done fast and painlessly. Doesn't leave any red burning areas. Just nice and smooth skin. The ONLY thing I found wrong with it is that it would get clogged often but just whipe it off with your fingers and its back to normal.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Lemon

4-0 out of 5 stars Long Lasting Blades
Obviously if you have a Mach3 Turbo you have to eventually replace the blades. For razor blades they are pretty expensive but worth it because they really seem to last a lot longer than other razor blades I've tried. So far I find the Mach3 Razor Blades the best on the market, and I've tried a lot of different razors.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, Bad, and Ugly
Okay, Moch 3 is good.It is very safe across my face.Howevery you have to put energy in to it for it will cut one side and leave a patch making you look even more ugly!I think it is usless to have three blades for ony one of the three is effective.I gave it a good four because it has done it's job.

2-0 out of 5 stars Like taking a Snow Blower across your face !
First of all I have to say that where the Mach 3 cuts it does a good job, but that {for me} leaves around 30% of my face unshaven. I find all the 3 bladed razors too unwieldy, the heads of the things are as easy to manipulate as a snow blower.

I have gone back to shaving with a cheap double bladed razor, BUT ! I have found a shaving cream {that's not a foam or a gel, it's like Nivea} and I get a great shave using it, the shave is really close and the blades last a lot longer using this stuff.
I used to cut easily too but since I bought "Ultra" shaving cream I haven't cut myself once {in over 6 months} and I never get that red razor rash on my neck anymore.

The odd thing is I have started using the cream on my arms {where I have a problem with psoriasis} and that's gone away for longer than it has done before with any of the usual medicated creams I've used in the last 20 years.

I found Ultra at BODY4REAL on the www, cheap it aint but the 50ml tub lasts me 6 weeks, well worth checking out, gives me the best shave I ever had, even with a real cheap blade.

2-0 out of 5 stars Why do they get dull so fast?
When I bought my first Mach 3, it worked great, and the initial blade lasted for about three weeks. The refills that came with it lasted similarly long.

Then I bought refills, and each blade was dull within a week and a half.

About two years ago, I found a place on the Web that sold cryonically-treated razor cartridges (you can Google for "cryogenically tempered Mach 3 razor").They were slightly more expensive than most Web retailers, but they last at least three times as long... I'm just now running out of them (I think I bought 32, and gave eight to my dad).

Anyway, I only posted this because these cartridges popped up as the top recommendation on my home page.Weird.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great innovation from Gillette; now surpassed by Turbo
The Mach III was a great piece of innovation from Gillette - there are quite a few upgrades here from the last of its double blade releases, the Sensor Excel. The Mach III is the first time I felt like I could shave rather absent-mindedly (it is first thing in the morning, after all) and not endanger my face.

The issue is that the Mach III has been surpassed by the so-called 'Mach III Turbo' product release from Gillette. The naming of that product is unfortunate - 'Turbo' sounds like some marketing affectation, when in fact it honestly provides you with a vastly superior shaving experience.

Despite the rather obscene price point of the Turbo, I'd suggest you skip the 'Mach III' and move up.I'm convinced you can get more shaves out of it and make your money back.Plus, it's just a better shave.

3-0 out of 5 stars They work great but a couple of flaws
These are among the best blades I've seen...on the first use. When new, they give a very nice clean, smooth, and even shave on your face.

After that, it's a MAJOR pain to clean out the whiskers that get caught between the triple blades.I had to spend 10 minutes shaking the razor in both standing and running water to clean it out.Now when you're up in the morning trying to get ready for work, you don't have that kind of time to spare cleaning a razor.

Problem is, if you don't clean it, the quality of your shave significantly decreases trying to use it the next time.

Also, even after cleaning, it doesn't last very long at all.On average, I can only shave 2-3 times with one of the blades before the blue indicator stripe goes white.

Be careful also not to leave the blade on the sink afterward...store it someplace dark, because bright light seems to fade the blue "indicator strip" sooner.

I recommend the Turbo...it seems to be longer lasting, getting an extra shave or two out of it, although the cleaning remains a problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Shaving Set - Excellent Value
I have shaved with a shaving brush & soap for a couple of years now, until recently using a low-end (plastic) Burma-Shave shaving brush to make up my morning lather. After surfing many internet sites, I found this one to be be the best value in terms of style, (presumed) quality and cost. (Some comparable sets go for $150 - $200!) When I received it, I knew I had made a great decision as to the cost/value of my purchase. The brush and razor handles, cup and stand are all very high quality nickle-plated steel. The brush and razor handle are solid metal, which provide considerable heft. The badger bristles on the brush are quite fine and work up a good lather quickly. The razor handle is compatible with a Gillette Mach 3 Razor (my preferred brand). The shaving soap that accompanies the set is passable, but I prefer to use my favorite - Lightfoot's Pure Pine-Scented Soap (that I obtained elsewhere). If you like to shave "the old fashioned way" like I do, this is a luxurious way to do it (without breaking the bank). ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Last American razor
I had intended to buy one of the Remingtons until I researched these consumer evals, which were jammed with horror stories about them. One man suggested Wahl, which I had never heard of, and when he mentioned that it was the last American manufactured razor, that sealed the deal.It came with 3 differently gauged foils. The charging base was unassembled for some reason, which I quickly remedied with some model glue. The cleaning brush is utterly worthless; the fact that I use an old toothbrush says it all.
I have exceptionally bad luck with merchants, so of course, mine was the one that slipped through quality control and arrived with a misaligned grip. This did not affect its performance, which is first rate, and I suppose most men could just grin and bear it, but I returned it for replacement as my relationship with merchants is essentially a state of war.In summary, well worth the low price, in my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great shaver and a bargain
I was glad to find the Wahl shaver at such a good price ($30).I have owned two previous Wahl shavers and was disappointed when I could no longer find them locally. It shaves fast and close with no irritation. The trimmer is better than most I have tried - I used two Remingtons and a Braun before finding the replacement Wahl on Amazon.I disagree with another reviewer about noise. It's quiter than either the Remington or Braun that I still have; but they have been used for a while and most shavers get noisier from continued use.

Since it comes with three heads - marked "close", "super close", and "sensitive", you can almost certainly find one that will work well with your face and beard. And if you're lucky, like me, all three will do a good job, so you're effectively getting two replacement heads for free. The "super close" is faster for me and not quite as comfortable as the "close" - my favorite. The "sensitive" is a little slower and doesn't shave quite as close unless you spend extra time going over areas with heavy beard.

I get four to six shaves on one charge, depending on how much time I spend shaving each use.

I do not think that the Wahl shaver is quite as durable as some others, but since it comes with a two-year warranty, you can count on two year's service. And hopefully when it finally wears out,you can find a new one at a good price. At the price of $30, which is about the price of two replacement heads for competing shavers, I've been considering buying another one for the future.

2-0 out of 5 stars Shop around.
Shaver is not made in USA.Most items are made in China. The shaver itself is not marked as to origin, so it could be made in USA.
It shaves pretty good as far as the shave itself. The shaver is really noisy. It vibrates a lot.The charge lasted about 4 to 5 shaves. Not really a quality shaver, but that's why it is less than $30.I can not recommend this shaver to anyone. There many better ones out there. All foil type shavers are noisy but this one is is noisier than others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wahl System 4000 Razors
I have been using this product for a number of years, and am just preparing to buy the third. I wore out the first two. After two other brands of rechargeable razors, plus many traditional razors and shave creams, the System 4000 just cuts my beard more closely than any other product. My wife does not get scratched from my tough beard stubble, and that is the final test. The charge holds for about 5 days, so on travel I carry the stand-up charger. The pop-up trimmer works great. My only concern is that Wahl may some day stop making electric razors then what would I do?

2-0 out of 5 stars Fair product & Bad shipping
Like most of people, I chose this item based on other's review.

I used this only once so far, in dry way.
Before telling anything about how it works, it's extremly noisy.
I don't think even my boyfriend's shaver makes such a big noise.
It removes hairs in wide areas like thighs, but not that great when it comes to narrower areas like around ankle.
And I am the only one who noticed rubber burning like smell?

I think I will try it in wet way next time.
Or I might discover how to use it 100% like some of the rivewiers did.

But the shipping was too bad. I placed order on 3rd, but it didn't arrive till 23rd. Then the box was dented big time, as well as the hard plastic wrapping. Also the surface of the shaver cover was dirty too.

Hope I can enjoy the shaver like others do soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a terrible razor, unless you know how to use it
When I first got this razor, I was disappointed. It didn't work very well, and I stopped using it, except to trim my bikini area. But then I discovered how to use it.
It works the best if the hair is longer. Sit in a well lit area, natural light is best, and slowly glide the shaver against your leg. Make sure that it is tilted at about a forty degree angle so that the first set of blades can cut the hair.
My legs have never been smooth using that razor until I discovered this. Now they are as clean shaven as if I had used aregualr razor and shaving cream. Caution: don't shave arm pits with it. This skin beneath there is delicate and gets snagged and cut.

3-0 out of 5 stars why are women's shavers still ages behind men's?
As with the case of many regular razors, the male model always hits the shelves first; once the female version comes around it'soften the same product in pink with an aloe strip, or in some cases far inferior. Such is the same of many women's electric shavers. From what I can tell, most lack the power and sharpness their male counterparts have. I bought this shaver a few months ago from drugstore.com for $34.99, and have been much disappointed.

Pros: Decent price. It holds a charge for a respectable period of time, and works in the shower or tub.

Cons: It's very slow with its less-than-sharp blades! You have to go over an area many times to get it right, although doing so doesn't result in any ill effects other than lost time. Its size is also not suited for the bikini area.

All in all, as it was my first electric shaver, perhaps my expectations were too high. I'll stick to borrowing my boyfriend's electric razor when he's not looking.

2-0 out of 5 stars good reviews--BAD EXPERIENCE
I bought this electric shaver for my girlfriend because it had a excellent price, it was from a reputable company, it could be used in the shower, and most of all it received excellent reviews--HOWEVER THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

After my girlfriend tried out the shaver she was unsatisfied because the shaver (1) consistently got stuck on her hair because it is NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH, and (2) the shaver PULLS HER HAIR BECAUSE THE BLADES ARE NOT SHARP ENOUGH.

This shaver was insuffient for shaving my girlfriends leg and bikini areas. In this case, I think it would be wise to explore other competing shavers (probably in a more expensive price range).

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what i expected
i ordered this based off the reviews here on amazon. it does not in any way shave close or smooth in the bikini area.. great for under arms and legs are ok .. but this i would NOT tell people to use for the bikini area. I'll stick to my good ol razor and just double up on the diaper rash cream to stop razor bumps. works like a charm ... Read more
