Good for sensitive skin.
The Quattro blades, in my opinion, are far superior to the Mach 3 in all respects, except one.The blades remain sharper for probably and extra week over the Mach.They get a closer and less irritating shave.The problem is that they can be more expensive.If you have sensitive skin, it might be worth the extra money to use the Quattro

Best Razor ever
For someone who has very sensitive skin, and tried virtually all razor blades from Gillette and Schick, this is the best razor ever. Not only do you get a very close shave, but nicks and cuts are almost completely eliminated by the protective wire and great design.The closest best shave to the Quattro was the Schick FX Diamond, but the Quattro is definitely a better razor. Will never go back to Gillette or any other.Worth every penny, and is also durable, you'll get plenty of shaves out of each cartridge.

pricey but the shave is good
I feel that the blades wear out too quickly for something that has four blades in one shaving frame. Plus they are expensive at almost $2 each. Frankly I don't think these are any better than the earlier 3-blade cartridges which were cheaper and I was able to get more use out of them. Basically a ripoff, but you can't even buy the older styles anymore.

great job as a razor
I have been using Gillete for long time and then one day I tried this Schick Quattro. I found it really good and effective. Its very smooth and comfortable esp for someone like me who somehow enjoy a good dense beard :(. I wish Schick will defintiely reduce its price though.

Comfort plus for a razor
I have both the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and the Schick Quattro with four blades.No complaints about either razor.However, I have thick stubble on my face and both work.The main difference is the Gillette does the job but I need to go over my shaving area, several times.The Schick will take the beard off on ONE swing of the blades.The Gillette cuts lighter but the Schick cuts closer.If you need to shave once or twice a day, the Schick is the answer to that problem. ... Problems, problems
This razor has been pretty crappy to me.I got it as a Christmas gift about 1 1/2 years ago.After about 1 year, the foil got a tear in it, so I paid $26 and got the replacement pack (turns out Braun doesn't sell just the foil anymore).About 6 months after I bought the replcement, the foil got another tear in it.Now it nicks me every time I use it.It does a nice job, but it is crap for $30, spend a little extra and get a better razor.

Too expensive!!!
The razor is good by itself, but the replacement pack is way too expensive.You could find a new Braun 3000 series razor at $30.Why bother to get the replacement pack?

Why the complaints? Works fine for me.
Well, I don't know what the other folks are complaining about. You have to periodically replace the cutting parts of a razor, yes, and according to Consumer Reports, this isn't an exorbitant price.

I'm not sure why the other fellow's foil broke twice in a year. I know it's a customer service nightmare when you get two defective items in a row, but if the foil broke even once within a year under normal use, then I have to assume it was just bad luck. I've had the cutting foil break on Braun razors, but only after I'd been using them for too long (I didn't know until today that I could order parts online, so I've tended to put off a trip to the "nearest" parts store) or after I'd dropped the razor.

I've had four Braun razors. The first lasted seven or eight years (with replaced foil, cutting block, AND battery; finally started overheating). The second was an inexpensive corded model, and I got tired of the cord. The third was a Flex Integral, which was fancier than I needed but worked just fine; the foil broke (from overuse) and I needed a working razor right away, so I ran out and bought a 3612, which I liked even better.

Nothing wrong with Braun razors or replacement parts, in my experience.

Replacement needed far too often
The blurb says replace the foil every 18 months but I've had to replace it twice in less than a year due to tearing of the foil. I have two extra cutting blocks now. They should at least sell each of these parts seperately.

Way too expensive blade!!!

It's good
I bought this razor from Amazon.com as part of a goldbox offer or whatever to give it a try.There is nothing wrong with the razor.The moisturizer works well and smells good if you are not naturally a stinky person.The scent goes away within a few moments for the most part.I think the razor is good.It shaves close and without drying out your skin.You can shave just as effectively right after a shower as you can 15 minutes after a shower. A refill will last a couple of weeks.The funny thing though is that my razor arrived in like 3-4 days.But everything else I buy from this site usually does not arrive so dilligently.

Smelly yet satisfying?
The smell depends on who you are. I have a couple of friends who have tried this razor, and I'm getting it for my boyfriend for Christmas. The smell depends on your own sense of smell, I've heard from some that it smells wonderful, and some think it stinks. Before you spend the 60-120 bucks on this razor, I think it might be a good idea to buy a cartridge and try the smell first, if you can take the smell, the razor is wonderful. As for a cartridge lasting only one use, I have no idea how the other user came up with that. Both of the men I've talked to said that with daily use the cartridge should last about 2 weeks.. so about 6 packs of these will do you a year. It's a bit pricey, but if you suffer from shaving rashes, it might be worth it for you.

Stinky Lotion
Some sort of an electric pre-shave lotion makes for a very nice shave. Therefore, when I saw this product, I tried it out. The liquid conditioner that is automatically applied with this shave has a very strong fragrance. (SO strong that it gave me a headache- How would YOU like it if someone chose a fragrance for you to wear, a fragrance that you didn't like? :-( ). If it were possible for me to replenish the conditioner cartridges with my very favorite "Williams Lectric Shave," I would keep this shaver. Barely effective for those with darker hair!
As the reviewer below mentioned, this device neither shaves nor removes the hair around the bikini area, but instead seems to trim it down to a small point. This is ok if all you want is to not have long hairs creeping around, but I was expecting a much smoother result, and this thing doesn't cut it! I have very dark hair, and it was still visible after trimming, plus it hardly seemed to touch thicker hairs! Where this does work quite well is on my upper thighs, where the hair is lighter and finer, but I have other things to remove hair there! All-in-all, I'm disappointed by this device and wouldn't recommend it in place of waxing, epilating, or just plain shaving.

Your bikini line won't be "touchably smooth," like after a good wax or shave, but if you're just looking to keep the hair to a minimum, this is a great product.I would be curious to know how well this works for women with dark hair - the reason you don't get shave-bumps is because a very short bit of the hair is left behind, which might be a problem for brunettes with very light skin.

A few issues
Great razor, and great price considering the market.
Please consider the following things
1) The razor will not run on the power cord.It is only useful for charging the battery.The razor will only run on the battery.The next higher level will run on the cord (MS 300?).
2) The replacement screens are expensive.This is not unusual for a replacement screen/blade, but please consider this cost before buying an electric,
3) It is pretty cheap for the performance.I've had it for a year or so and don't have any trouble with it.
4) Battery life is fantastic.It lasts weeks before needing a recharge.
5) I don't have a very heavy beard.It may not work for those who do.I like this style of razor because it is small enough to manuver around your entire face.

#1 Electric Wet/Dry shave
It takes a little gettibg used to in sensitive areas (under arms and bikini) but once you use it a few times, WOW! I first bought this shaver a few years ago. It worked great even after being dropped many times on our tile floors. Until that fateful day my 2 year old threw it down and it broke. I tried two other razors, both of wich did not compare. I am ordering a new one on ebay. $9.99 (so far) Nothing compares, you get a close shave every time without the hassel of doing it in the shower (you could if you wanted)

Met all my needs and expectations!
The best reviews have shaving habits, so here are mine. I shave once a week, give or take. Since I shave so infrequently, it always takes me about 20 minutes, so the "takes a long time" complaints were irrelevant to me. I also always have to go over my skin two or three times to get a clean shave, so those complaints were irrelevant to me as well. I'm not concerned with my bikini area. I don't have sensitive skin, but I do have uneven skin highly prone to nicks and cuts, and suffer from a great deal of post-shaving itching that lotion and moisturizers only slightly alleviate. I'd used razors from cheapest to most expensive, and had only found moderate relief as I improved my razor. So, I thought - to help my budget - that I'd give an electric shaver ONE try. I picked this one because it seemed to be the best shaver for my money, based on reviews. The first time I used it, I had an awesome, almost painless shave (only a small stinging behind my knees, and that was only the first time), no nicks or cuts, no razor burn, and no itching at all (I DID apply lotion, as usual, after my shave). The only problem I had was that I didn't charge the shaver for a full 24 hours (only 12) before my first use, and the battery died right as I was finishing my first shave. I haven't had a problem with the battery even slowing down since that first shave. Overall, I'm delighted with my shaver, I think it's probably every bit as good as the more expensive shavers. It's been wonderful!

Double Ouch!
This razor does produce a close shave on the legs.However, it doesn't do a great job on the underarm area and produces terrible, painful cuts in the bikini area.Ouch!

Best gel/cream available
I've got the most incredibly sensitive skin in the world when it comes to shaving. Redness, irritation, bumps, etc. you name it and I've experienced it. Best I've ever used
I had it when my previous trimmer didn't have 1/2" settings and I would have to manually set the length in the middle of 1" and 2".It would constantly slip and move and eventually, a chunk of my beard would be gone.I decided to try this trimmer out.I got it today and I have to say, it is the best trimmer I've ever used.The blade is very high quality, the size of the trimming area is huge and the length locking system (with 1/2" settings) is key.There really isn't much more I can say except that if you're serious about your beard, this is the trimmer for you.

I've always used Norelcos.. and my last two were great.My last Norelco broke, and I bought their new top-of-the-line.I use this both to trim my beard and head.. and it was uneven, cheaply made, required lots of effort, and would not operate without a charge (couldn't plug it in when the battery died.)

I replaced it with this panasonic which has:
-really sharp, even-cutting (!!) blades
-quiet (yes!!)
-doesn't have the norelco's vacuum, but oh well.It didn't workwell anyway (and probably caused most of it's problems.)
-works on multiple voltages.. yeah!!!!
-has a screw to open it up and change the nicad battery when it eventually won't charge anymore (the new norelco's have NO access to the battery.. basically like a disposable.)
-comes with blade oil, you can tell they take their blades seriously.

Get it before they outsource their production to some third world country.. hehe (the supposedly made in austria norelco is 100% made in ***** inside... no offense to *****... but you know..)

Works well, but no instructions for newbie
At almost 50 years old, I had never grown a beard until now.Approaching two months of full beard (I don't like goatees), I needed to start trimming it.I researched reviews of beard trimmers on the Internet, and my first choice was Braun's Exact Power models, but they seem to be available only from continental Europe.What gives?

I might have got a Norelco but the wide range of ratings gave me pause.That left the Panasonic ER203K which I just used for the first time.

It ran well, seemed well made, and so on, as others have said.Why less than 5 stars then?Because it has no instructions on how to actually trim a beard with it!Maybe I missed that session in Guy's Class, but as a newbie I would definitely appreciate some tips.For instance, I started at the longest setting, ran it around my beard, then reduced it a number until it started cutting.Then I discovered it cut a *lot* more going against the grain, than with.Not surprising, but what's the recommended method?Should I always keep the flat part of the guard against my skin, or hold it at an angle? Is it safe to use without the guard? (I did use it like that a bit to trim the mustache but found my electric shaver trimmer was smaller and thus better).Also it's real hard to read their diagrams to see where the oil should go.

Yeah, beard trimmers aren't real high tech and maybe don't need any instructions.But it wouldn't have cost them much to provide some.Otherwise a fine product.

Cut Hair, Not Costs
This is by far the finest trimmer I have ever seen or used.
It is quiet, the option to use the cord is indespensible if you are in a hurry and it is not charged, there is also no wall-wort so it is great for travel.The adjustability is fantastic, 12 very precise settings, and the removal of the shield for fine trimming and cleaning is wonderful, just be careful trimming, those blades are truly sharp and stay sharp.It is more expensive than other trimmers on the market, but this is well worth it.Excellent quality.Don't cut costs, cut your hair.

I use this once a week and the battery is dead already. During use the battery (or motor) seemed to slow down sporadically. However, it always provided a quick trim, and dead on accurate. Very Precise
Looks great, works great. Very very precise. It has the micro screen shaver and the slide-out trimmer head. Tiny and precise. I love it. Ideal for goatees and mustaches. The only thing that's inconvenient is the 10 hour recharging time. Oh well.

Buy this!
The only problem I have with this is with the charging. You do not really know when it is completely out of juice, so it's hard to know when to charge the unit up.

This thing is very precise, there won't be any stubble afterwards near your facial hair. My hair is very dark, so any stubble i get is very obvious, but it's completely gone with this.

If you have a goatee, get this, it's very useful. It will make it look very professional looking.

ow!wow!it works
i attempted to give myself a wax... this stuff works super well.it didn't "explode" or anything, it was simple and smelled nice :)it was super painful, so i think i'll use it jsut for my legs.it ripped out every hair that it covered.it did awesomely on my eyebrows that are super thin and hard to pluck.this is a superb item.the end

Burned me badly
After microwing the product, I went to stir it and it exploded in my face. I suffered 2nd degree burns to my face, hands and arm. I followed the instructions for heating the product and it still exloded. Do not buy this product.

Worked great for 1 Year, then room temp cream
This worked great for a little over a year and now it just spits out room temperature shaving cream.Even after letting if sit for over 10 minutes, still the same result.From reading other reviews, I guess I didn't get a "faulty unit".

You Get Warm (Not Hot) Lather -- Obvious Design Flaws
Mine produced barely warm shaving cream from Day One and never improved.I took it apart tonight after several months, and now understand why.The design is feeble. The lather moves through a disc-shaped, "flat tube" of metal which is adjacent to (and is supposed to be heated by) another flat, metal disc, which is connected to some simple thermostat electronics and then to the wall outlet.

There are several problems with this design.The first is that the thermostat is obviously inadequate and doesn't allow the disc to get hot enough to be effective.The second is that the transfer of heat from the heated disc to the "flat tube" bleeds off heat. Finally, the "flat tube" itself is made of a metal which isn't that great a conductor of heat.I held it with my fingertips and put a match to it, expecting to be burned and be forced to drop it in the sink in a few seconds, but that never happened; it just didn't get hot.

My guess is that due to the threat of fire, this product is designed to provide warm -- not hot -- lather.Not warm enough for me.

I would really recommend this product to anyone.For the price you cant go wrong with this and it also makes a great gift for the person who has everything.

If you have ever had and/or are looking for a traditional barbershop shave, don't bother with this supposed hot lather machine. After I finally got it working (and not spewing out handfulls of cream) I was awaiting my barbershop shave at home. What I bought was a cannister heater that provides luke warm cream at best. A Real Barbershop Shave at Home
Everyone who tries my hot lather machine wants one, but the problem is they're going, going, gone. Sunbeam, Gillette and other companies have made versions in the past, but they never sell well enough to stay in production. Although this Conair machine is inexpensive, it's well-made and solves some problems of past dispensers. You shake the dispenser before use (which shakes up the can inside), then plug it in and turn on the switch. A red light indicates it's on, and when the green lamp lights, it's ready to shave.You dispense lather by pressing the top black button. The earlier Conair dispenser was white, but this deluxe one is silver and black plastic. It uses any standard 11 or 14 oz. shave cream can (like Foamy), and enhances any shaving routine. Use it with a blade razor (like a Mach III), or dispense the lather into a mug and apply it with a brush. Hot lather also works great with a wet/dry shaver like the Panasonic Sonic III. Looks good, works bad

Nice toy. Can be used as a tool...
One-battery trimmers simply not strong enough, was glad to find a two-batteries version. It has a perfect design which will attract many more naive surfers like me. Unfortunately it's not good for nose hair trimming. Problem is it makes electric-like unpleasant sensations when touches sensitive skin inside nose.
So much that it makes you scared using it ;-) It also doesn't cut well, doesn't reach inside, makes burning smell and overheated. However I don't know other cordless models that work much better then this. You deside.

clean trim
This trimmer is nice and gives a nice cut.I mostly use the pre-installed adjustable guard, so I cannot say how well the other attachments work.For the way I use this trimmer, it works great.

The battery life is great also.I use the trimmer on my beard 1-2 times per week.I have had the unit for three months and have only recharged it once so far.My old Conair unit required a recharge every week or two.

The safety button on the on/off switch is a nice feature if this ends up in the hands of a little one.

The plastic stand is a little cheap.I keep my trimmer in the cabinet, but personally it is not something I would want to look at every day.This does not take away from the performance of the trimmer, so I cannot lower my rate because of this.

Other units have a nicer base.My old unit required the base for recharging which was extra item to bring when traveling for long periods of time.With the undependable charge length, I did bring it with a few times.This unit only has a plug which is not tied to the base. ... Read more
