Good shave, no trimmer, lousy power system
I've had this for a week now.I have a very heavy beard that goes in all directions.This unit is at the bottom of their Coolskin line and uses their older shaving head technology, by the way (all slots vs their new technology which uses a combination of slots + holes).I use it with shaving foam, not their expensive Nivea packets.I get a reasonably close shave, though it's difficult to shave under my nose and under my chin, thos areas never get as close as I want.The unit feels cheap and uses NiCad batteries -- this is the biggest problem I have with it.NiCads suffer from memory effect unless you frequently let it run down all the way (and as you can't run this unit while corded that presents a problem!They actually recommend that you let it lose almost all its power before recharging, I guess you're supposed to turn it on and go away).On other products that use NiCads the charging unit itself will first dishcarge the battery thus eliminating the memory effect, but not this charger.Also, the charger will not prevent overcharging -- you can't leave it in the charger more than 8 hours or it will shorten the battery life!In my view these are fatal flaws.I'm sending it back.By the way, it does NOT include a trimmer.

Give it a chance
It takes more than one shave to determine the quality of an electric razor. The manual tell you to give it three weeks for your skin to adapt to an electric razor. Ive used the Norelco 6701X for about a month now and it works great. Close, comfortable and very convienent to shave in the shower. No more cutting my face with the Mach III razor.

this thing sucks
Besides the fact that its not a close shave the battery life on this sucks so much, since you have to go over each area like 2 or 3 times you only get to shave like a leg and a half. If that works for you then this is just perfect.

Have gone back to using regular razor and shaving cream
Not bad for a quick, not too precise trim, but the traditional shaving cream and regular razor is STILL faster and more thorough.Also, it sits poorly in it's charging base, making it difficult to get a good charge.

Doesn't work after 3 months
It doesn't work after 3 months even though I used it even less than 10 times each month. Although its motor is till running, but it cannot remove any hair from my skin. Too bad, I cannot return it.

Great Shaver and compact too!
I previously used a Remington shaver which broke on me after three years of constant use.I didn't want to spend too much money on a replacement shaver and I saw this one on Amazon.I ordered it and it's been great ever since.It shaves great.It's even okay to use on the sensitive parts of your body.It comes in a cute little lavender pouch and it's the perfect size.My previous shaver was a little bulky, but this one I think is small enough to travel with but not too small in regards to handling it.Overall I think it's a great shaver.

Pretty good for the price

Lookin' good so far ...
One time through my beard and this Remington MB-35 is a pleasure -- particularly when compared against the Norelco AccuVac T870 that I recently bought (and have since returned for a refund). The Norelco unit wouldn't cut, it's battery wouldn't charge, and it sounded like a diesel truck.

Hopefully this positively contrasting experience will continue through the years. I had great luck years ago with a Remington electric shaver, by the way (which lasted about 8 years of daily shaving ... before the current beard).

Not perfect
This one didn't work for me.

I found the strips too small for the legs and too big for the other parts.I won't buy a product that says it's for "everything" again.

You get two towlettes, or you can use witch-hazel.Then you apply talc powder and you're ready.

For me this was less effective and more painful then other brands.

These Rock!
Best wax strips out there. I love this brand and am so happy amazon carries it since my local Walgreens stopped.The strips are big enough to do your legs and arms and can be trimmed to do smaller areas. Just enough wax to grab everything and very little mess.
This brand is way better than the Veet brand and the Sally Hanson brand only has 5 big strips and then the rest are small. One box of this stuff will cover both full legs and then some.

uselessly small
Having been a long believer in the quality inherent in products labeled "As seen on TV" I was quick to buy one of these shavers as soon as I ran across it on this site.I don't actually have a TV at the moment, so I was basically unaware of this product and had not seen any of the on-air demonstrations of it's usefulness, but since from the picture it appeared to be a shaver with an angled head I thought it might be just the thing for shaving hard to reach areas.I assumed it would be about the size of a hand-held electric back massager, so you can probably understand that I was pretty upset when it arrived and turned out to be about the size of a small ink pen.I really can't imaging what possible good this tiny shaver could ever be to anyone.When I tried to use it I found that it was far too short to allow me to reach the middle of my back (a problem area for me).After contemplating how it may have been intended to be used, I came to the conclusion that this shaver must have been designed for shaving in tight quarters, so I attempted to shave my nostril hair with it, but it cut the inside of my nose and hurt so badly that - out of shock - I dropped it and it fell into the toilet.I don't really think it succeeded in taking off any of the hair on my back, and I can't tell how good of a job it did with nosehair, since my nostril is still swelled and tender, but I can tell you one thing... I flushed.

A Worthy Purchase
I bought an electric shaver because I'm lazy.I used a Mach 3 for about 4 years and then upgraded to Mach 3 Turbo blades.I got a really close shave (I go with and against the grain) and with the exception of the right and left parts of my chin, there were no signs that facial hair even existed there.But this would take me forever, and the last thing I want to do when I wake up is shave.So I decided to buy an electric shaver.I've had the shaver for about two weeks now.I was not very content with my first coulple shaves, but things improved over time.

Pros
- Gets very close.The left and right sides of my chin are still difficult to shave, but I get much closer than I used to.
- Takes half the time to shave.
- There is a little collection compartmant that captures the hair so I can shave in my room while my roommates are taking a shower.
- It comes with 9 settings.

Cons
- Its difficult to shave around the neck.I tend to cut myself a little whenever I try.
- The cap was annoying at first becasue it is difficult to tell which side attaches to the front.I ended up drawing an arrow.
- Cleaing and drying it is kind of a pain.
- Near the end of the battery life, the shaver kind of dies down.

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.The instruction manuel recommends changing blades after a year (they cost about 20 dollars I think).I think its worth it.

Super convenient high performance close shaver
A gift from my wife a year ago,it has been an inseperable companion since and works like a charm every morning. Began with a sensitive setting and moved to Normal over time. Even though this is my first electric shaver, the transition from the blade was uneventful and before long it became an integral part of the morning routine. Atleast 4 other friends have purchased this model on my recommendation and have enjoyed it. One notch below the top of the line in the spectra model line, it is everything you would need off an electric shaver. Along with the sideburns' trimmer, a nose hair trimmer would have completed the toolset required by a man to manage his facial hair.

Excellent Razor
This is an excellent razor.It is my first electric razor, and I have not had any problems becoming adjusted to it.It is easy to clean, extremely quick, and rather elegant.The color is a little lame-- who wants to sell something called "eggplant" to men.Also, the clear plastic cover for the head is the bane of my existance.

But from the perspective of providing a clean, comfortable, and close shave, it's tops.

Excellent, even for a blade-user
I bought this shaver a while ago, but I wanted to wait at least a month before writing my review, since it's supposed to take about that long before your face is used to an electric razor.

This is my first electric, and I was concerned going into it. I looked at the price of good standard blades, though, and saw how quickly an electric razor would pay for itself. I'll never go back. For the first week, the shave was not as close as I had become accustomed with using a blade. After that, though, I've gotten closer and closer shaves by the week. After a little more than a month of using the Spectra, my skin is now smooth even against the grain. I've gotten back to where I was with a blade.

The Pros:
- Shaving takes easily only half the time as it did with a straight razor.
- I can shave any time, any where. With a blade, if I tried to shave more than once per day, I'd cut myself all up into a bloody mess. With this electric, I do notice some discomfort after having shaved a second time in a day, but it gets a nice close shave. A little after shave takes care of the sting, and I'm good to go again.
- No mess. I really don't miss having to use shaving cream, even my nifty hot-lather shaving cream.

The Cons:
- Motor power seems to wind down a bit towards the end of the battery charge. It's not too bad, but it seems to take longer to shave at the end of the charge, and I don't want to charge it early for fear of damaging the battery.
- This is really a minor quibble, but I thought I'd mention it: Since this razor rinses clean under tap water, what few bits of hair are still left over are sitting in water over night. Every time I use the razor, for the first minute of shaving, it smells very strongly of old, wet hair.

Tips:
- Blade users: Apply less pressure than you're used to. I find I get a better shave when the razor is touching the skin firmly, noticibly, but not pressing in at all.
- Rinse it out every day, and turn the faucet up high. If you let it go a couple days without rinsing, it's much harder to clean out. It only takes a couple seconds, so why not?
- Shave daily. I find that if I let my beard get a little longer the shaver still does a pretty good job. However, there will always be a few hairs that grew too long, curling down, that are not lifted by the razor head. Just shave daily, when you only have stubble, to avoid this.
- Get a makeup mirror! These little mirrors are concave, magnifying your face so you can see where you've missed more easily. I mounted mine to the wall, slightly below my chin. Now I can more easily see if I've shaved my neck well.

Great shaving results!
The good: Clean, close, comfy, fast shave.Relatively quiet.Good warranty.Gets the tough areas (neck) quickly.Can wet-clean it!

The not so good: Old-school charging system and NO smart-charging system (come on Norelco, get with it!!).No rubber-grips. Not enough extras or product for the price.

After my bad experience with Braun's expensive, non-performing shaver, I traded it for another Norelco.My previous Norelco lasted me 6 years...why I tried Braun's I'll never know.

Once again, my Norelco is giving me a clean, and VERY close shave.The new Spectra system seems to be a hybrid between old reflex and the quadra system.Whatever it is, it works for me.

However, if Norelco wants to keep my business in the future they need to start adding better (smarter) functions to the razors and quit with the marketing ploys in their product line...stick to what works.

Technology is sufficiently advanced that they can, could and SHOULD start making their shavers with smart-charging systems like Braun!!And put rubber grips on the side of these things!!Do you not realize that we need traction?

Also, packaging the same razor body style with or without LED is just silly, choose a style that works best and go with it.

Plus, for the price of this thing, they need to throw in a free set of replacement blades or even some lube-oil or something, and not just that cheap travel case.

Overall I am happy with the performance of the razor, I just wish Norelco would bring a few more percs to the table for the prices they charge. ... Read more

You get what you pay for...
A lot of reviewers are complaining about the cheap and shabby construction and operation of the Groomer; but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.The Groomer does not have high-quality designs and technology, plus the unit, both the base and the Groomer itself, are plastic.Additionally, the Groomer's 'buzz' is loud, but not deafening.The vibration of the Groomer is about what I expected.I purchased this Groomer at a local mass merchant.Upon using the Groomer, I was fairly happy with the results.I have a goatee, and the Groomer adequately trimmed and shaped my goatee.The product comes with two clip-on adjusting guards, which I found very consistent trim after trim, so one can cut one's body hair to the desired closeness.Additionally, the unit comes with a nose/ear trimmer (which I have never used) and a foil shaver (again, I have never used; do not need it).Bottom Line:I have been using the Groomer for 6 months now, and I'm happy with the dependable results.The cost of this product is under $15.00, and at this price level, one simply cannot expect the high quality that some reviewers are demanding; nonetheless, I have been happy with the results of the Groomer.If you are looking for an inexpensive, functional, and reliable tool to meet your trimming/grooming needs, I would go with the Remington PG-200.For the price-level, the Remington PG-200 is hard to beat.

Worthless
I purchased this trimmer at a nationwide chain, and took it home to find that it is useless.The nose/ear hair trimmer sounds loud and feels powerful, but doesn't do a very good job (comparable to a cheap trimmer.)One annoying ear hair took about a dozen passes to get rid off.Today I decided to try the beard trimmer to see if I could salvage use from this product; but again, I found that a few passes over my beard did nothing at all.I then tried my old, cheap Norelco, which prompty did a fine job.In addition to this trimmer not working: the stand that comes with it is useless for holding all the bits and pieces (small comb, small brush, various heads) and it does feel cheaply made.Also, oddly enough, mine was fully charged when I first purchased it - even though the instructions say that it needs to be charged, and I've never purchased anything with a charger that had already been charged before.Now I'm wondering if the "new" product I bought was a repackaged used product.In any case, I'm returning this to the store.I suggest you not bother with this product.

Looks & workd cool as long as you don't use it
My brother in law has one of these and loves it.I liked the way it looked and my sister gave me one for Christmas.Here's my scoop:
1.If you have a place to display it, it looks great and is functional. If you must place it in a standard size medicine cabinet, you will be frustrated with the way all the pieces fall out of the holder with the slightest movement-which BTW if you have a shelf in your cabinet you will have to take the base out in order to remove the trimmer.
2.Battery life was good when I used it.
3.Trimming was 'acceptable' though my 9.00 ConAir trimmed better.
4.After using it about 7 times, the comb on the trimmer broke.It is an unbelievably cheap piece.I don't mind the cheap plastic that others complained about, I hate the fact that the piece you need to frequently move was built with replacement in mind.For the record, I am very careful with all of my belongings.
5.Remington wants $3.00 plus shipping for a replacement.So now I would be 6.00 into a shaver I could buy on ebay/amazon brand new for under 15.00.I think I will move on.

Two or three years, still in great shape
Sorry to hear some other reviewers have had bad experiences with this product, but I love mine.Yeah, it's cheap plastic, but what isn't these days?No, it's not much use as a general purpose razor, but I never expected it to be; it's just a pinch-hitter in that area.It is, however, the best thing I've ever found for trimming mustache, beard, and nose/ear hair.Essential.Never have had any problem at all keeping a charge, either.Bargain.Glad to know it's still on the market, just in case this old faithful ever dies on me, so I can replace it easily.

Great effective 5 in 1 trimmer for a bargain!
I've had this machine for about 1 week and though I agree with the one reviewer that the product does feel a bit light and could be flimsy if you are not careful, I have found that this thing does EVERYTHING you ask it to within reason. I was using an old heavy cordless trimmer by Conair with which the battery was dying and it was a drag because the blades would pinch because it would struggle with my coarse facial hair. This Remington (be sure to get the PG200 model) trimmer however zipped right through my 3 month beard in no time flat and not once did it pinch! I was amazed!

Though it is true that if you do not prepare your beard first it will take several passes to trim your beard, I have to say though that the other reviewer was NOT using his correctly! This trimmer comes with the usual beard comb to use. Any trimmer will take several passes if you don't prepare your beard though! The length attachments work just fine too.

The "flimsy" feeling exterior is not all bad. I dropped it once from a high shelf and it survived just fine. What I love about this unit is HOW LIGHT IT IS! It is very comfortable to use and all of the attachments work just fine! It feels about like the size and weight of a wet razor. What an ingenious little thing it is. It was the best $15 razor/trimmer I ever bought! You will of course have to use a full blown razor if you want a smooth shave. The mini foil shaver is for trim only! I give this trimmer an A+ for price and usablity!

I am a long time panasonic shaver user(8 years+), but this shaver is one of the worse ever. I was so disappointed with this one.I hope I will be able to return it and get my money back... trust me... this shaver is not for anyone... should not have been on the market at all.

This shaver rattles the jaw bones
My $100+ Norelco razor died after nearly 7 years so I decided to give this mid-range panasonic razor a try since it uses different blades. The thing vibrates like crazy and it gave me razor burn. The separate adapter only works on 120V which means you can't use it in Europe or Asia - Norelco's voltage converter was integrated and could be used seamlessly with 120V and 220V and the cord was coiled for easy storage. some pain, some gain?
I purchased this product and tried it for the first time last night. It was my first experience with removing hair from the root - I've never waxed or used another epilator - and I'm also in the camp of people with light skin and dark, course hair. I read several product reviews, so I was a bit surprised that it really didn't hurt that much at all when I used this product on my legs. I did take a hot shower and exfoliate beforehand, but I was expecting it to be terrible and it wasn't. Underarms proved to be a different story - it took me three attempts before I could get the hair removed and it was a LOT more painful than the legs. It seems that once you start, you best keep going or you'll never finish. I did like the result - smooth and hair free, with no shadow.

As it turns out, the only real pain was how long it took me to use this product! I probably spent two and half hours on my legs and underarms, and I still keep finding hairs here and there that were missed despite my best attempts. I'm wondering if this is because it was my first time or if there are better epilators out there. If it continues to be so time consuming, I'm likely to give up on this product. It's also disappointing to spend so much time doing something that's no so pleasant, only to find that you're probably going to have to touch up several spots with a razor anyway.

Excellent product
I researched every style and brand of epillator I could find before deciding on this model.It was down to the Braun 3370 and this one.I decided that since this has the newest "dual opposed heads" feature, I should get the latest model with the new technology. I was only going to use this standing in my bathroom in front of the mirror, so I didn't need the cordless model or the ability to recharge it.If you need to use this often or would be travelling with it, those features would probably be important. This model is also small and held easily in the hand, which I thought would be helpful since my main concern was the fuzz on my upper lip and sides of my jawline so the small size would be easier to manipulate around the curves of my face.My skin has become pretty sensitive over the years and waxing just got to be too harsh--the skin around my jawline/neck area was traumatized. It looks like tiny blood vessels directly under the skin surface burst from the wax pulling away and resulted in small, patchy discoloration patterns.Plus, the whole process took a while and I'm not patient with things that take too much time.I was excited to get this Emjoi AP-96 in the mail, but was pretty freaked out by the condition of the box when it arrived. It looked like an elephant had stepped on it and the USPS put this little piece of tape over the gaping hole that said "RECEIVED UN-SEALED".Are they saying THEY received it in that condition? Geez. Thankfully, the Emjoi is packaged floating in plastic and was just to the side of direct impact.I took it right into the bathroom to try it on my face and was completely amazed at how quickly, easily and efficiently it removed my facial fuzz. I was instantly in love with this thing--almost as much as I love my Dyson vacuum, and that's saying something. Ripping(drama) out all of that fuzz wasn't anything I would consider uncomfortable, either.And I'm a veteran waxer and former user of the dreaded Epilady.I have since used it on my legs, bikini area and armpits.No problems--works like it should.I would buy it again.I'm thinking of buying the Braun 3370 also, just because I like having two of things (my husband always says two is one, one is none-so I have an excuse) and since it's a little bigger it would cover the larger surface area on my legs a little faster.
