If you really want to quit smoking,you need this.
In the twelve years I was a smoker I honestly believed it would be impossible to stop.I was so in love with smoking that I used to joke that I would quit when I was dead.When I finally decided that I was fed up with cigarettes once and for all (the cost, the stench, the heavy breath, the smoking bans, on and on) I gave this a try.Previously I had attempted to stop twice before, half-heartedly, using the patch and again with some sort of nonsensical herbal concoction.Both a waste of money. They just weren't strong enough for the chain smoker I was.I actually read reviews of the lozenge here and was convinced to try it. So I set my quit date and bought a box. It was a bit of a gamble since they aren't cheap but neither are cigarettes in NJ anymore. Does it work? Oh yeah, it works.

It doesn't just curb the craves it eliminates them. I went from needing two packs of cigarettes a day to having virtually no desire to even look at them anymore.I'm still stunned.They do work and they work magnificently. One thing I like about them, they dissolve very slowly in your mouth which actually helps to alleviate the oral fixation in the absence of a cigarette.

But be warned: Nothing replaces will power.You really need to want to quit. The lozenge is not a magic bullet but if you do decide to quit they are your best weapon. There is, however, a risk of developing an addiction to lozenges so it's incredibly important to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and wean yourself off them according to the schedule provided.4mg is a very strong shot of nicotine. Also if you swallow them or bite them you'll be treated to some very nasty heartburn and hiccups.

Basically, if you follow the program and reinforce the desire to get rid of the smokes with a support group you WILL quit smoking. Trust me.

Amazing
My husband smoked three packs a day, and has smoked for 43 years.With the help of Commit he has been smoke-free for 28 days now, and still counting.For him, that's a long time.Some days are easier than others but he is determined and has finally found something that really helps him.

Commit to Stop Smoking!
Excellent product. I had to stop using the patches after 10 days the last time I tried to stop smoking because I was becoming more and more allergic.

I have been free of cigarettes for two weeks now using Commit as my aid and the results have been amazing:
1. I no longer desire cigarettes at all.
2. I've had no reactions. However a cautionary note is please read the directions. Commit is to be absorbed in the tissues of the mouth; not the stomach. I didn't read the directions on my first experience and got a tummy ache. Used correctly, there have been no adverse reactions.
3. The directions say use at least nine a day at first. I have been fine using about five and have gone several hours at a time without it (I was a one pack a day smoker). However, utilization may be different for each individual.
4. The taste is acceptable and as I stated above....the results outstanding!

By the way, Amazon also offers the lowest price anywhere. I recommend this product highly!

Powerful aid, but you better have your mind made up
As with any aid to quit smoking, the real test is yourself, is your mind truly made up to quit?? Mine was, I work out on a treadmill and while I still smoked, well into the workout my heart rate was topping off at about 140 bpm, after quitting and starting on the Commit program, it wasn't long my heart rate during the same workout was down to 128!! This along with the high cost of cigerettes, not to mention overall health, was enough for me not to wait for some iron lung device 5 yrs from now. I am 52 now and have smoked for some 35 odd years so this was no small task for me. My point is, my mind was made up, and with the aid of this lozenge, which by the way really does take care of the nicotine withdrawal, and was a very powerful aid in helping me to quit. I am in the 9th week now of the program without a cigerette and I have no desire for one, I have cut back on the lozenges to the point where I don't even much think of them anymore, pop one in just to stay with the program. Lolipops help with the fixation to have something in my hand. All in all I give this item a two thumbs up, but don't expect them to do it for you! One other thing, as with anything, don't blame the lozenge for dependancy on it, you can get addicted to just about anything, just cut back gradually like they tell you, and stick with the program.

One last thing, amazon beat my local grocery store, a LARGE chain by the way, by $10 per box!

Why should I have to give up my pleasure?
I am an unrepentant smoker.I aim to smoke as much as humanly possible.Although I only am able to smoke four packs on a normal day, there have been days that I have achieved an eight pack total.I like to be full of nicotine.It enhances my performance at work and in bed.Because of my extreme nicotine dependence, I find it difficult on those days I cannot smoke at least six packs of cigarettes (on a side note, although they market Virginia Slims for the ladies, they are indeed a great smoke).So when I find that for whatever reason I cannot smoke constantly, I slap a few of these patches on my rear and soak up the nicotine transdermally!It really helps take the edge off.

I also enjoy chewing nicotine gum, or really anything with nicotine in it.

You can quit!
I have tried everything and this is the only thing that worked for me.I have just finished the Nicoderm 3 step program and have not had a cigarette in 2 1/2 months!You can do it too and the patch will make it possible.There are a few tricks:

1)Do not even bother unless you really want to quit--you must have a purpose.
2)The night before you want to start, make sure that you smoke ALL of your cigarettes, every last one (or flush them down the toilet to get them out of sight and mind).When you are ready to go to sleep, put on the patch.
3)When you wake up, the patch is working, its up to you at that point.

Good luck!Anyone can get rid of their addiction if they really want to with the patch.

These patches ended decades of smoking habit
I have been smoke free since January 2005 with thanks to these patches.I have unsuccessfully tried other methods in the past and am so grateful for these patches. If you decide you wish to quit smoking these could be the help you need to get over the physical cravings, just like they did for me.They seem to induce colorful epic dreams too!

I was a 30 year smoker. After having a lung removed I cut my smoking in half but I still could not shake the habit. That is until I tried these patches. I can now honestly say that I am smoke free.

I have just finished phase 2 of the three phase step process.
One slight criticism though. There are 14 patches per step. Each day you put another patch on. I am rapidly running out of places to put a new patch and when I where a t-shirt I look kind of like a quilt. On the plus side once you are covered with these patches you are impervious to knife or gun attacks. Although I have had a constant headache for the last 4 days.

END IT!
If you use this outside, on a cold enough day, you can almost trick yourself into thinking you are smoking an ultra-light cigarette... It's good for those of us who need to feel the action of smoking.Also, these things last a long time... 15-30 hours each... they look similar to a real cigarette and they don't taste too bad... so the way I see it, I'm saving money, I'm saving my health and my clothes aren't stinking quite as bad... the best product ever
one of the best ways to quit smoking.The only problem with it that its hard to get the gum out of it's sealed pack.I believe it should be packed in a much better way.

It will work if you do it right
Are you tired of throwing away big money day after day for what basically amounts to a slow, painful death?Sick of coughing up phlegm when you wake up each morning?Maybe you're just tired of smelling like a casino?I smoked for over 10 years but got off the death sticks with the help of Nicorette.

I tried the inhaler and hated it, felt like I was breathing hot pepper into the back of my throat.In all fairness I really didn't give it a chance as I lost it the day after I bought it after only a couple uses.Most people I know haven't been able to quit using the patches alone but your results may vary.Personally, the gum satisfies the urge to keep my mouth busy.If you're a nailbiter or you chew on pen caps, etc... you probably have the same oral fetish and the gum is your best bet.This will not take care of that strange craving your lungs get for nicotine (only smokers will understand this) but it will take care of the cravings your body gets as long as you do it right.

First, quit the stupid rationalizations and realize that you ARE an addict.You can tell yourself that you can quit any day you want but we both know it's a line of B.S.If that were true, you would've have quit long ago.Nicotine is as addictive as heroin, just a lot more subtle.The more you realize that you are in a battle against an expensive drug, the more determined you will be to keep going.

Second, understand that you will have to chew a lot of gum before you can quit successfully.The first time I tried to quit I got back on the smokes because I stopped the gum too early.Start with one box just to find out if this will get you off the smokes.Once you do quit, and you find Nicorette to be an acceptable substitute, then make sure you have plenty of boxes so you don't run out and immediately bum a smoke off of someone.Chewing eight pieces a day, you only have a couple weeks worth in this starter kit.Get the larger boxes of refills to save money.

Third, this is important, you MUST chew at least eight pieces a day!There's a reason the box is explicit about this.Don't wait until you start craving a cigarette, keep the gum in your mouth beforehand so you don't get the cravings at all.If you do this, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to quit.

Fourth, this is not regular chewing gum.The common complaint is it upsets the stomach.You don't chew it constantly like regular gum, instead you only chew it until you start to get a peppery taste in your mouth (the nicotine) then park the gum between your cheek and gums until it goes away.Chew a little more, park it, etc... until the nicotine is gone.You probably will get an upset stomach at first as your mouth is not used to the taste and is generating more saliva.This goes away quickly though.

Finally, if you are a habitual smoker (i.e. first thing in the morning, while driving, right after a meal, etc...) just get used to having the Nicorette around.Instead of reaching for a cigarette first thing in the morning, chew a piece of gum first thing, and so on.

All of the above are in the instructions but the steps bear repeating because they are all important.Even if you do start smoking again, don't throw away the progress you made.Just admit it was a mistake, throw away the rest of the pack and get back on the gum.Quitting smoking is not impossible, people do it every day so there's no reason you can't quit too.Just set a date and do it.Best wishes. ... I can't believe it worked...
I'm now thirty.I started smoking when I was ten, and by fourteen I was smoking a pack a day.I'm also work in a couple highly stressful professions, meaning cigarettes were something I needed to keep me sane.I tried all sorts of nicotene-based substitutes, and they didn't work.I tried other methods to quit, and they didn't work either.After hearing about Smoke-Away on the radio, I thought "what the heck?"

only thing that ever worked!!
I was told I have Emphysema 4 years ago (mild) and had to quit smoking immediately. So in the last 4 years I have tried the patch (twice...first time I was on them for 2 months!) and the various gums, losengers, etc. All of them get you through the duration while you are taking the product, but when out in the world alone, I was always too easily (mentally) tempted to cheat. Cheating led to a month to six month binges and another product was tried. Smoke Away is the only thing that Detoxified me quickly and now I can be around smokers and stress in all settings and have NO DESIRE to "bum" a cigarette!! Using the product fully (phase 2 is just as important) did the trick for me. TRY IT!!!

Garbage
I would have given this zero starts, but that wasn't an option.I tried the smoke away, all the support stuff, the pills, the inhalers, etc.I could have just as well saved my money and bought Life Savers - they did nothing to curb your desire or withdrawel symptoms.

Great product
This product worked for me where others failed. The SmokeAway kit I ordered lacked the compact disk and cost a lot more. I should have checked Amazon first, but since it REALLY WORKED I'm very happy even though I spent twice the money for less product. I took phase one for just five days, then gave the rest of the kit away to a friend. Now, four and a half months later I'm still nicotine free and the "nic fits" are less frequent and way less intense. Sometimes I go for days without even thinking about a smoke.

Is there willpower involved? You bet. This product gets you thru the first week or so, after that its up to you. You must WANT to quit. This product does what its advertised to do, however. It helps you get off nicotine in that all important first week or so. After that, you have a fighting chance to gut it out the rest of the way.

works well/superior to the lozenges
Through trial an error, I've found the Nicorette gum to work the best for me out the three nicotine replacement products (patch, gum, lozenges). When I'm about to explode in a nervous rage from nicotine withdrawal, I just pop a piece of gum in my mouth and it works surpisingly well at smoothing those rough, hateful edges. Although the directions advise against it, I chew as much gum as I need, because sometimes one piece is not enough when the urges get too tough. For example the other day someone cut me off in my car, and strange demonic thoughts began coursing through my head. I put three pieces in my mouth and blew big bubbles and that helped pull me back to this side of sanity.

Recently I decided to try the nicotine lozenges, because the one drawback of the gum is that my jaw starts to hurt after all the maniacal, savage-like chewing. However, I found the lozenges to be absolutely intolerable. They taste like chalk, and not even good colorful chalk that little kids play with. Bad chalk. They are completely useless and I would recommend anyone to not WASTE their money on those if you've never tried them. The unfortunate part is, nicotine seems to absorb faster with the lozenges than with the gum, but at least the gum, especially the orange flavor, tastes fine.

Also, I've found Nicorette brand to be the best. I've tried a cheaper off-brand and the quality of the gum was inferior, not standing a chance against the onslaught of my teeth. My one big complaint is that Nicorette is criminally expensive, but still cheaper than a pack-a-day cigarette habit, in more ways than one. ... Read more

Orange is the best
The Nicorette almost works too well -- as in my case, it can become a replacement for cigarettes, instead of just a quitting aid.You can chew it in all the places where smoking is banned (restaurants, planes, offices, etc.) and noone is the wiser (no more clothes that smell like smoke!)So, be careful, if you really want to be completelly nicotine free, follow their instructions to the letter.
Personally, I like the orange flavor best:it doesn't really taste like orange, it just has a bit of sweetness in the flavor that helps mask the pepper flavor (to me, the original and mint flavor exaggerates that peppery bite )

It will work if you do it right
If you search under the Mint flavored Nicorette starter kit, you will see my lengthy review on quitting smoking in general.Regarding this product, the orange flavor is pleasant tasting, but you still get that peppery nicotine taste when you chew it.If I had to choose between one or the other, I would probably go with the mint flavor, especially if you're just starting out, as it's closer to regular mint flavored gum that you're already familiar with.

My main complaint about Nicorette isn't regarding the product itself (it does work!) but with the packaging.First of all, the gum is in this plastic covering that isn't very thick so the heat from your body will make the gum stick to the plastic if you keep a few pieces in your pocket.To make matters worse, it's covered in this annoying aluminum foil that almost always sticks to the gum whether it's warm or not.Then the aluminum foil is covered by some thin plastic wrap that always rips apart and never gets enough of the aluminum foil off for you to get the gum out.With all the aggravation you almost want to start smoking again!

If you're looking for a little flavor (or you're just trying to mask the taste) the flavored gums can help.But if you're just getting regular (unflavored) gum, save money and get the store brands.They work just as well and the packaging isn't as annoying either.

what is it?
This funny looking thing is so weak-tasting that no amount of puffing is going to satisfy your taste for a cigarette.
Save your money and don't buy this product.

Endit-
I purchased Endit as an aid to help me quit smoking along with some Commit lozenges. The Commit appears to be working very well according to what it says it does, but the Endit smokeless cigarettes....well, the flavor is extremely weak and they do not appear to last as promised. Also they are shaped rather flat, not round like a cigarette. I could have had the same effect with a straw. I have seen other smokeless cigarettes that I feel I should have tried instead. Don't waste your money.

don't waste your time or money
okay, so i'm trying to quit smoking after a pack a day habit... i was doing okay cold turkey but needed something to stop myself from overeating. so i go out and find this product at my local drugstore and immediately try one. not only do they not contain any nicotine or tobacco (which i guess i should have looked for before purchase), but they taste absolutely terrible! they do not taste even remotely like cigarettes.
